i watched a show, this means no disrepect to anyone, but its said, that a non deaf plays a better part, the same as a non gay plays a better part of a gay person, whether its the research, or it comes across better to the movie audience i dont know, Than might be to also do with how great these actors and actresses, really perfect there craft and get into the role
This is likely more about Tessa Thompson being a great actress, and less about non deaf actors being better for the part. There are plenty of deaf actors who give fantastic performances informed by the life experience they bring to the roles.
