Thanks Mark for all the information on whisky, casks and bottlings.Your knowledge is priceless, and ive learned so much from yourself just over the last day or two.All the best from right beside Auchentoshan distillery in Clydebank.
Hi Barry. No problem at all - glad you like the videos and thanks for your encouraging words! I tell you what you must have some enviable views! Better than the pancake which is Cheshire 🤣 and no distilleries around here either!
Really interesting video, that bid for providing the overview of the Japanese whiskies. Absolutely love the idea of “honourable pricing” policy by Japanese bottlers
It's a hard concept to understand in the West isn't it! I can't think why they would have done it for any other reason though - they know they were pricing themselves very low!
Hey Mark, I am a fan of your channel. I have many bottles and items to sell, and am inspired by your sales approach. Btw, how did you manage to place your store underneath the description. Thanks, Robert
You and me both! Although I don't have the funds to spare sadly... There seems to be a lot of buyers remorse with some of these high priced releases at the moment - we'er seeing a swamp of Red Collection bottles, Broras etc - when the quick flip isn't there people are starting to get cold feet. This will have a knock on effect on the market I think - however - the market for the Japanese bottles is not the same as Scotch!
When Suntory first experimented withThe Mizunara cask they didn't like the taste and aroma so they left it in the corner and almost forgotten about until the mid to late 70s.
Oh wow - that's amazing. It's funny how people's perceptions change isn't it. It's like all of the fancy packaging and bottles out there at the moment - it's solely there to transform the perception of the whisky, and pushes the price up as a result!
Do you recon you would get someone selling Yamazaki 55 through your shop later in the year? There’s bound to be some very lucky individuals who end up being selected form one of the ballots at TWE/MoM/WS?
Hi Dan - I hope you are well. I think a large number will be flipped and maybe we will get one. However, immediately after release everyone tends to be greedy and essentially the market has to set the value. As such you might see one with us in 6 months or so ;)
Hi, I have a yamazaki 2017 special edition which I can sell for 550 eur. Doubt if it will increase in value. Will suntory advantually introduce age statements again, and will prices then drop?
Alright please help me I bought a bottle of Suntory Yamazaki Mizunara in Japan few months ago but it says it’s already aged 18 years limited edition how much do you think I could get for this US dollar

Great video :)
Hoping/praying I'm able to purchase at least one Yamazaki 55 when they are made available this month.

@@MarkLittler indeed. Even pre 2013, a bottle was like 200 to 300 bucks. Now? 20x
My comment disappeared! Probably because I was trying to add the link to the video I mentioned. Stupid CZcams. Anyway, great video as always!
No worries!
Well done
Thank you!
Is there an easy way to distinguish the original bottle from the newer one? Is it merely that the older bottle is 750ml, vs 700ml for the newer?
Think I can answer my own question, the older bottle says Suntory Pure Malt Whisky, vs the new says The Yamazaki?

Hey Mark, how does one get in touch with you for purchasing bottles?
The Yamazaki pure malt with the 12 year label is not from the 1984. The first is the Pure malt with no year label . The first editions .
