Cutler has 6 of the 12 seasons where a Bears QB threw for 3000+ yards, but isn't #1 for season leaders, Erik Kramer gets that distinction with a hair over 3800 yards, yes 105 years of Bears Football, 0 4000 yard passing seasons.
Cutler is the only good QB the Bears ever had, McMahon was a game manager who leaned on the run game as evidenced by his 0 3000 yard passing seasons.

I was and am still a major Jay Cutler fan. The worst thing that happened to him was being traded to the Chicago Bears. The worst thing he did to himself was to not leave the Bears as a free agent when he had the chance to do so. Cutler would not kiss up to the Chicago media and they never stopped slicing and dicing him as a result. Cutler played under six different offensive coordinators during his eight years on the team. He never had an offensive line that could protect him or a defense that could hold a lead. He didn't even have a true #1 wide receiver until his third year when Brandon Marshall was obtained in a trade. Cutler holds most Bears QB records in spite of all the negatives he had to contend with concerning the Bears front office and coaching staff. He wasted his career by being on the Bears where he was never truly appreciated!

Jason Whitlock (who it should be added was a phenomenal writer back in the day before he went down a rabbit hole) wondered after the NFC Championship loss to Green Bay if that Cutler's attitude might be from just being overlooked and poorly treated everywhere he went. Despite looking like a star in high school, pretty much no D-1 schools bothered recruiting him, and he went to lowly Vanderbilt where he was the best player on teams that got pasted on the regular by fellow SEC squads. Then he goes to Denver, things look up, Shanahan gets fired, in comes Josh McDaniels, and we know how that goes. Not sure if there's any merit to any of that, but food for thought.

He thought he could make any throw, and he could, but he also thought he could make those same throws throwing into triple coverages. And if things didn't go right, he completely gave up lol. But man... Those teams with Cutler, Forte, and B Marsh were special. The problem was every time they would start making a run, players would get injured. Forte would go out, Cutler would get hurt, and it was every single season.

I thought Cutler would adapt to NFL defenses more quickly than others because he played in the SEC for Vanderbilt. His line and receivers were never equal to or better than the opposing defense. As opposed to playing with a line and receivers better than the opposing defense for other quarterbacks at premier programs like USC. That kind of QB had ample time to throw to wide open receivers.
