    Simplicity is the best policy. Even basics need much time and effort to improve, to perfect, e.g. the knack of using hips to generate power. IThese clips - Part 1 & 2 - demonstrate the basics in a slow and relaxed way. It is excellent for learning and even introspection.

    well western style boxing has similar mechanics and some punches are harder but I think that it mostly depends on the fighter, yodsanklai punches pretty damn hard, in muay thai punches setup kicks and knees where as western style boxing punches set up other punches...I know a western style hook has nasty intentions behind it lol

    Mauy thai isn't about raw power only in the arms boxing focuses only on punching power but a lot of ppl don't know power comes from the legs boxers have strong legs but a boxer could beat a muay thai fighter if he gets a solid punch but over all a mauy thai fighter has more weapons to use to surprise and over whelm a boxer and potientol knockoiut with a swift kick to the head which boxers don't train for

  • @americanone100
    @americanone100 Před 11 lety

    Ok on question.. If a boxer and a thai boxer stand in a Ring how would the Boxer win ??? The thai boxer would only need to low kick the legs three to four times and the boxer couldnt even walk anymore xD

  • @MrCarstennielsen
    @MrCarstennielsen Před 11 lety

    Boxing may be more powerfull actually, but muay thai is never just a single hit or blow. It is a series of feks. a teep to push the opponent back and when your leg lands, you step forward with the a punch and then finishes off with an elbow, a kind of 1,2,3 thing... Or one is ready to land a hit with the knee if the hand misses or has finished its landing at the target. Do lnot condem what is not clearly understood because, it is not clearly understood... that is plain dumb. You did not do that.

  • @MrCarstennielsen
    @MrCarstennielsen Před 11 lety

    Wrong, art is about perfecting what is not yet perfect.
    Many think just keep punching, but if punching wrongly/ineffectively, it is useless, just watch some top non-thais...!

  • @Herecomestheboom222
    @Herecomestheboom222 Před 10 lety

    Omg.. Do not switch your feet to kick with the lead leg. They'll see it coming. Fire from the front without switching. Or go jab cross so your power is on that side and yo can whip it around easier. Never switch your feet just to kick...
