converting is a blast to do. I myself find that kit rcs aren't a challenge. I like extreme challenges, and conversions are where they can be. Great conversion bud I'll be doing one. I can give you some good tips on the pressed pinion and getting your lights to work on toggle of receiver if needed. 8-)

Yes please ron, was going try heating the pinion up but any other ideas are welcome

@@Pezzapoo its pretty easy actually. IF you're planning on not reusing the motor just use a tool used in small nail pulling or also called a staple removal tool. Looks like a screwdriver yet it has a spilt claw end pulling out small nails staples etc.(can get it at any local hardware store) take that and slip it under the pinion gear then when you pry down on handle the backside of claw pushes against the face of motor plate. Doing this will slide the pinion gear up the shaft of motor. some times after about half way through the process if you need more leverage you can then slip a pair of needle nose pliers between the pinion gear and the face plate of motor. you'll be surprise how little force is needed doing this application of removal. When adding to new motor I like to use a lot a set of large set of slip pliers. a small vise works as well. what you need to do is press at both ends (pinion gear and end of motor shaft only!). the end of motor shaft is important to do because done right there is no damaging force of pressure on motor internals. All you got to do is compress the pinion back onto the shaft of new motor. Make sure your shafts are the same diameter.

Bro Im the same way. I love modifying toy grade cars, did my first one at 12 on a Nikko car. You can buy a 1/10 car at a retail store, paint it, change electronics, alter the weight etc. Now with 3D printing the options are limitless.

Toy grade car have a lot of unnecessary plastic. Id full teardown the entire chassis & body & break out the rotary kit. Get all that extra weight off. Sand down the plastic tires & add a thin layer of rubber tape around the tires. This makes the car faster without changing the electronics. Ive done this on few Jada Toys cars. Of course changing the electronics gives you more speeds, control range & proportional speed & steering.

It will look some good at the semi expo you go to. You will have to pretend your pulling one of them over.

THAT is very cool. I was thinking when you bought those? They were going to end up on a Trailer with your rig. :) Nice work and worth the effort I think. :)
