My husband only came to Mass with us on Christmas and Easter UNTIL we moved and went to an FSSP parish. He’s come with us every. Single. Week. When we walked out of Holy Mass for the first time he said “THAT!! That is Catholicism. I’ve been saying for years that something just isn’t right with the novus ordo. The Traditional Latin Mass is it.” He’s on the road to fulfilling all sacraments.

No rules or commandments have changed since I started going.
      What a ridiculous statement!
So I am no longer a “ proper “ practicing Catholic?
Go to whatever Mass you like. Just don’t put down your fellow Catholics. I don’t care what type of Mass you attend.

@@pjsmith4369 It's not up to you "to care" in a frivolous manner. But you should care when an arrogant Pope assumes power he does not rightfully have to engage in childish spitefulness in trying to suppress the Mass of the ages, while lying that VII demands it, which it didn't, because his faithlessness is being challenged by those who recognize immutable truths while he is a denier of immutable truth. In fact, as a process theologian, Francis believes in an insecure confused nervous God Who changes His mind and is still in the process of trying to figure things out Himself.

I do hope Barron at least tries saying Latin Mass. We need priest like Barron and James Martin to celebrate such Divine Liturgies. They will be able to make the Jihadist Tradies and borderline SSPVs feel uncomfortable with their extreme believes 😂.
I love the EF Mass and will NEVER allow myself to compromise too much work for such a beautiful Liturgy
      BUT
I hate it when conversations after Mass start to take turns like JP2 not a saint and V2 validity crap. People who know me know that i don't use words like TLM and NO instead i use words like EF and OF. Priest who are against the Latin Mass feel more comfortable with the words EF and OF like how non Denominational Protestants would prefer the word Christians over Protestants.
Am i self censoring, IDK, but i realize just a little change in ones vocabulary helps a lot.
Lastly, i will advice EF attendees to go for a Jesuit retreat for at least a week, liturgical abuses and herassy may be through the roof but it really does help.
I have been attending EF on a weekly basis since 2019 and honestly, this is my advice.

@@marketgarden8910 it is all with charity, isn’t it? I’m a regular NO catholic. I was raised in it, I go to it for daily and Sunday mass still. But even people like the SSPV, I think they often have more charity than we give them credit for (and the same charity that many don’t give Fr. James Martin credit for) We have to realize our traditions and not neglect them. Reading the desert fathers, Pope St. Gregory the Great, St. Pio of Pietrelcina, etc. we can find the same beauty in the liturgy and the beatific essence of it all. Christ says the greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. And we have all had sin which would damn us if we did not have Christ and his charity. So we must “forgive our trespassers as they trespass against us.” The lessons of our sins is the wisdom we must give. WITHOUT JUDGEMENT.

@@marketgarden8910 I love JPII, Benedict, and perhaps Francis the most of the holy fathers since VII. We must meet the lapsed and unbelievers and radical traditionalists where they are. Terrible things have happened in the church. Liturgically and particularly with sexual abuse. Pope St. John Paul II was at the head of the church when it all came out about abuse of young boys. Those doubts of his sainthood never deny his personal holiness but rather his dealings with the entire ecclesiastical body of Christ. It can be terribly hard to reconcile those things. Our salvation is not of men but of Christ. We can’t blaspheme the saints but must remember they were men. The worst sinners (St. Augustine, St. Francis, St. Mary of Egypt, etc) made the greatest saints.

I actually think Shia's take on the Mass and the reform is the best I have heard. He mentions how the Latin mass can sometimes feel exclusive which is why "the mass has changed because there was a yearning activate the public in an artificial way". In other words the changed attempted missed the mark, or one could say even the point of what was hoped for.
He talked about how the church tried to (paraphrase here) 'activate the laity from the office without putting any agency on the priest.'
    VS
"Old Latin mass put all the agency on the Priest to be fully activated, and that activation was supposed to activate... the laity."
I got to say I would have never expected this to be said from Shia LaBeouf. But leave it to God to surprise us.

I have yet to meet this “angry trad” I keep hearing about, but I’m sure he’s out there somewhere. The TLM must be retained and celebrated. So Sola TLM is wrong.
The reason why the NO is instituted - there are fertile ground for evangelisation to the rest of the world. They don't have Anglo Saxon background. They may not be particularly predisposed to the Anglo-Saxon cultures as they had only "recently" break free from their white/European colonial masters. The TLM reminds them of this colonial yoke where the Christian churches- both Protestant and Catholic are seen to collude with the colonial masters in yoking them economically and spiritually. Double control. Christianity is a white man's religion - that's is how some may see it.
We know the truth is not but perception is reality. The TLM is too anglo saxon. The NO allows the meeting of Jesus in the locals' language and liturgy (as prescribed and approved by the Magisterium which is never wrong Matt 18:18).
So live and let live. Let the Anglo-Saxon have their TLM and the rest of the Catholic world the NO. A freedom to select the liturgy that best allow them to meet Jesus.
My parish is 100% NO. We have monthly rosary, monthly flame of love rosary, Holy Hour, monthly devotion to Padre St Pio, missionary outreach, active St Vincent de Paul, we have 45 catechumens in RCIA last year. So NO does allow Catholics to live a full Christian discipleship too.

Sounds like you were at a latin mass when the mass was in the process of being changed. I remember that brief era.
Prior to VII the congregation did not verbalize responses at high or low mass. The servers responded for the congregation and at high mass the choir sang the gloria, sanctus, angus dei, our father and the creed.
The mass did not have all participants in the same role which is as it should be. Everyone does not have the same God given talents or role to play in this life on earth.
That we all ASSIST at mass was always stressed and understood.
At the Novus Ordo my responses become rote and often seem to interrupt my participation. I have often recalled the admonition of my grammar school teachers that such rote behavior is not assisting at mass and indicates that one has not assisted at mass + therefore had missed mass.

And how do you feel every time you attend a Novus Ordum mass and paradoxically there is less apparent participation and less of a general sense of their not being fully present and mindful of what they are witness to? Perhaps it's because the Novus Ordum has the broadest participation right now, which is why it has that many more people taking it for granted, while the opposite is true of the Latin Mass because so few are privileged to go to it because it is so hard to find.

      @@TheJoyoftheFaith This god?
*This website is designed to spread the vicious truth about the Bible. For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes. The so called God of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout. This God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children.* I have included references to the Biblical passages, so grab your Bible and follow along.
*It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said Thou shall not kill.* For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21).
God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21 He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife!
*Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody!* In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered
The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). ***This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person.***
***Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK.*** If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself. *Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven:* For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it (Matthew 19:12). *I don’t know why anyone would follow the teachings of someone who literally tells all men to cut off their privates.*
The God of the Bible also was a big fan of ritual human sacrifice and animal sacrifice.
*And just in case you are thinking that the evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament are no longer in effect, perhaps you should read where Jesus makes it perfectly clear:* It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid (Luke 16:17). There are many more quotes on this topic at my Do Not Ignore the Old Testament web page.
*If you follow the links on this site you will learn about all the nasty things in the Bible that are usually not talked about by priests and preachers.*

It bothers me that Bishop Barron said it's "like watching a show" when attending the TLM. There is participation by the laity through things like periodic kneeling and receiving communion. And if people were attending a low Mass, the Leonine prayers at the end are a great source of participation by the laity. Really it's as participatory as you make it. It's not the fault of the TLM if people attending are being lazy or that they don't understand that they are at the foot of the cross witnessing the unbloody renewal of Christ's passion. Mass is not about the laity. There was no problem with the TLM, and those allegedly problems were just alibis for the modernists to implement the Bogus Ordo. All the proof that is needed to highlight the Bogus Ordo's deficiency is in witnessing the fruits of it. Even those unicorn "reverent Novus Ordo Masses" aren't good, as they come off as diet TLMs at best. Why compromise with a "reverent Novus Ordo Mass" when you can get the real deal in the Mass that nourished so many saints?

Since mass has been not only translated into the vernacular but dumbed down considerably Catholics seem to know less about the faith than my grandmother's largely illiterate immigrant peers. They at least knew that the Eucharist was the real body + blood of Christ.
The latin mass wasn't just about feelings or smells + bells. It conveyed a truth that the Novus Ordo seems to miss.
The Novus Ordo was an intellectual exercise based on suppositions of the elite/ academics about the " ordinary" man.

This is my source for the Latin holy sacrifice of the Mass: Pope St Pius V Congregation in Oyster Bay, NY
    Excellent website! Pre-Vatican II!
These dedicated Bishops and Priests travel to locations around the country to offer the true celebration of Holy Mass in Latin! God bless us all! 🙏

Exactly 'takes me out of the realm of the intellilectual and puts me into the realm of the feeling' - that's exactly right! When you aren't necessarily all up in the head with the words but are receiving(feeling) the frequency and vibration of what is being offered as it is a matter of the heart not the head. The Traditional Latin Mass is something you recieve. It's something that you feel. It's authentic and that is why people respond to it the way they do.

Hi, Rosie Girl, that's Precisely WHY the N O is the answer.
Look at Africa and Asia beyond the Anglo Saxon backyard and SEE how the devoutly celebrated N O rite is bringing countless non Catholics to Experience and Love JESUS through the Baptism of Desire ( Religious conversion is banned). I live among them.
Read Matthew 8 : 11-12 to know who will Really enter HIS Kingdom.

      I respectfully, disagree.
If you listened closely, he goes on in the full interview, explaining how moving the Latin Mass is, that the words aren't quite as important.
You don't need to know Latin to understand that there is an emotional and spiritual aspect to the Mass!
      One other point...
Jesus says to be baptized and believe. He then goes on and tells us how to be baptized..
With water...just as He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River.
Though I do believe there is baptism by desire.
Example: If you were on your way yo the Church to be baptized and you were killed in an accident on your way. (Which would be horrible!)
God bless you my friend! 🌹

What?!?! Since when in the world did Shia LeBeouf even become Catholic, much less a Latin Mass Catholic. Wow. He needs to hook up with Gibson, Caiviezel and Wahlberg. They all need to make movies about the beauty and truth of the one true church and the latin mass.

Padre Pío interceded hard and fast for Shia’s soul after learning that Hollywood is about to take a jab at telling his story. No average actor can dream of portraying Pio and do his character even slight justice without a full conversion of heart and a deep burning fire for Jesus, the TRUTH, and beauty of the Latin Mass nonetheless.

The mass is not about your feelings, according to the bible it is work. So if the hate the 1970 form of the mass and it is all you have available, then you have to still attend the mass. Yet again you have trads follow a celebrity who clearly has not done the research. Take the English translation of the 1962 mass and compare it to the 1970 and you will discover that the entire Latin mass movement is a scam.
