    The B9 Audi S4 brought some significant changes to the S4. The main ones include ditching the popular 3.0L Supercharged V6 and no longer offering a manual transmission or DSG! Check out this interview where we find out what it's like to own the latest generation of Audi S4! Should I replace mine with a newer version?

    That’s wild that dealers still wanted sticker or premium for S5 sportbacks in May. I was looking at S5 sportbacks around the same time and was offered 14% off any S5 on their lot.

    Guys I know times have changed since covid/parts shortage but now things here in the UK are easing up, money here is a bit different to that in the USA but my current car 2011 A3 black edition 2.0 tdi now on 2011 got it in 2015 on 35k mileage for 13000 pounds, so Now im looking at an S4 wouldn't say I am a real petrol head or maybe don't have the ability to appeciate like you guys the speed and torque and looks and refinement of the S4
    I've got a desposit down for a S4 2018 with 40k mileage for a whopping 25k that's a lot for me but part of me begrudges the fact I am giving over a lot of money for a 6 year old car which means after just 3/4 years it will be coming up to 10 years old
    yes they hold their value here to some extent, but prices have dropped 10 percent in the last 4 months. What do you think maybe just wait it out another month or 2 or get something more normal A4 Sline maybe?

    Had a 2013 b8.5 s4 loved it...test drove the b9 loved it in every way but consider the newer sq5 for a replacement daily I decided to get a 2018 sq5 instead and other than those fake tailpipes it’s great. Sound, fit and finish, ergonomics, and actually mpg is great I’m getting better mileage now than in my old s4!

      Magicrat999 night and day difference to be honest...it’s a tad bit slower since it’s heavier. Looks are also subjective but the interior is leaps and bounds better as well as the ride comfort! The S4 is a decent version of a sportier version of a car. I think the Audi has this line down correctly, not full on hard sport variants that are out there. To that point... it is boring but that’s what ppl want, not everyone wants a somewhat ostentatious looking car (M3, RS5/4, C63... I will add in the E63S because that looks damn aggressive vs that of a more muted looking M5).

    • @snakerb
      @snakerb Před 5 lety

      Dane Whaley but the S4 doesn’t compete with any of the cars you mentioned, but I see where you’re coming from. If you don’t know about the S4 you might think that it’s a slightly sexier Jetta.

    • @whal8y
      @whal8y Před 5 lety +1

      That would be correct, all of those cars that I mentioned are the ostentatious harder cars in their segment ( they don’t compete with it- the ones I mentioned compete with each other). Clearly, the segment for the s4 is a bmw 340 M package, C43 AMG, etc.. they don’t look super sporty but they are half, to a certain degree, the gap filled for ppl that may not want or can afford the higher sport segments but want more than just the regular versions of the standard cars offered.

      Looking to get a 18 S4. Couldn't agree more. Coming from a C63. It can be a bit much. Owned it for years now and time to move on. Don't get me wrong, they are fun cars (C63/M3/E63) but they are always trying to kill you and the ride is meh at best. My biggest issue with the c63 is it's always "on" ... I've thought about an E63 but, personally, I'm not a "big" car kinda guy (test drove one and it felt like a boat) and I'm a single guy, I don't need a big old 700hp german tank.
      Heck even 400hp with 400tq would be nice in a S4/C-class. People don't realize it but 500HP+ on the street is alot and 99% of the time will barely ever be used. Most of the time you use maybe 200-250hp in daily driving situations.
      Plus the gas mileage is horrid, I can think of much better things to invest my money in then waste 10k a year on gas feeding a big old fat AMG that in turn just keeps oil billionaires rich.

      @altayab Před 5 lety +3

      @@MrJrolon1975 I own a B8.5 A4 and the B9 interiors are so much nicer. Better materials, much more modern (the B8.5 interior is essentially unchanged from the B8 which is 10 years old now). Also the B9 platform is much more refined. The electromechanical steering in the B8.5 is god awful and the chassis dynamics are pretty weak. The steering response and feel in the B9s is much better. The B8.5 looks good and I love the minimalist design but at the same time it does look quite old compared to Audi's latest designs. Shame they ditched the manual gearbox though.

    • @tayl0rd553
      @tayl0rd553 Před 5 lety

      @@altayab You can't really compare the A4 and the S4. They're literally like two different vehicles, even down to the quality of interior materials. I'm not a fan of the instrument panel in the B9, and I HATE that Audi cheaped out and just emboss "S" on the seats instead of the full model designation like they used to. The sport seats are uglier in the B9, too. I do like the virtual cockpit in the B9, but that's arguably the only thing better than the B8.5. We used to have a B8.5 S4 and loved it. I was disappointed at the interior changes in the B9 S4 and the loss of a manual transmission option. IMO, the B8.5 S4 is the nicer looking car inside and out.

    • @altayab
      @altayab Před 5 lety +2

      @@tayl0rd553 What are you on about? The B8.5 A4 and S4 interiors are practically identical except for the seats in the S4 and the cars themselves are the same except for some mechanical differences (engine, suspension, drivetrain). The interior materials are the same. Same plastic dash, same plastic switches, same plastic door panels. They're not "two different vehicles". They are 90% the same.
      And what's more, the B8.5 interior is nearly the same as the B8 interior which came out in 2009. Get real dude. It's been 10 years and it shows.
