He failed to say that this scripture and in fact the entire chapter is talking about one group, the children of Israel.(I encourage you to read it on your own) the chapter is talking about how the Lord saved the children of Israel from Egypt and their hard bondage, and how he gave them the promised land flowing with milk and honey; but they rebelled against the Lord and angered him so he scattered them throughout the earth, gave their land to another nation. But the Lord goes on to say that he will regather Israel from where he scattered them, give them one heart. Corey is not right to use this text and present it as if God was speaking to the entire world. Read it for yourself and you will see.
Last thing, we have to be very careful in these last days: there are many false apostles/teachers that will deceive many, they will talk real nice, and be very professional but beware sister. I know it is hard to know who to believe because everyone is claiming that everyone else is false, so I hope that God gives you all the understanding you need to save your soul. Eternal security is false doctrine to trap y’all into a false sense of security. It’s not Biblical. Satan have deceived y’all. You must believe the Plan of Salvation. Jesus gave us the blueprint but y’all prefer to stay spiritually blind.
JESUS told us know unclean thing will inherit the kingdom of God. After you believe and repent, you must be born again through Baptism by immersion and have hands laid upon your heads to receive the GIFT of the Holy Ghost by only those men who have the power and authority from God, THE PRIESTHOOD.
You must repent daily and strive to live a righteous life and endure well to the end. All these churches, pastors and preachers on and off CZcams are ALL FALSE and mistakenly preach doctrines and philosophies of man that only pleases satan who is very cunning. Y’all are hearers of the words but not doers.
Pray and fast to find the only church that belongs to Jesus with the same exact organization as in the Bible. The church must have a Prophet and 12 Apostles that preach the same gospel of Jesus Christ and they operate in full unity. There must be a Holy Temple. Followers of Christ are called Saints. They must believe that the windows of Heaven are not closed as God still speaks to his ordained anointed servants and give us revelations for our last days.
There is so much more y’all have no clue about because y’all hearts are hardened and are stiffnecked people. Just like the Pharisees rejecting things of God but believing in false things.
None of you have sought to know God’s truth revealed through the Holy Spirit. Y’all just go along with what pleases your flesh and lean unto your own sinful understanding. Everything I’ve spoken is written in God’s holy books, but are deceived by the devil.

I used to think like this, eternal security just makes it easier to sin. After actually seeing scripture after scripture talking about our eternal security through faith alone in Jesus Christ. How one sees things are through a biased lens, our job is to make sure we are trying to see through the meaning that our Lord implied. We are drawn closer through grace when we fall, because He is our Father. He truly sees the each part of our heart. I wish I listened to the scripture instead of man way before, but I am blessed to learn more everyday about the character & qualities of Yeshua. It's such a peace to KNOW that our Lord is faithful, even when we aren't. We forsake Him every chance we get in our flesh, but he will never forsake us, because of our belief in Him & His name

I think it’s important that we acknowledge that there are quite a few “ifs” in the Bible. For instance if a man abide in me, if you you confess your sins John 1:9, etc and what about Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Are these not all guard rails to keep us on the narrow way? We can become slothful and unguarded in our attitudes. I like to say that being saved is like that long drive home, we know we’re there when we pull into the driveway, but until then we have to keep our eyes on the road. Don’t fall asleep while driving. It’s encouraging Christians to realise that we live guided by the Holy Spirit not that if we don’t do this then we lose this. If we have assurance in Christ, we have assurance of salvation. If you think you can lose your salvation then your assurance is not in Christ.

      Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
      2 Peter 2:20-22
For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”
      Ezekiel 18:24-26
But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die. “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die.
      Hebrews 10:26-28
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.
      2 Timothy 2:11-12

Once save always saved is basically if you call Jesus lord you will never lose salvation. It is for the saints. If you choose to walk away then that's on you. Don’t get it twisted my good sis. Even the devil can quote scriptures. That is not the litmus test. Scriptures are about correctly understanding God’s words. Look around you, it’s because of misinterpretation of God’s words why there’s over 1,000 different translations of the Bible and over 40,000 different churches preaching their own understanding and beliefs. There’s only 1 correct understanding of God’s words. We must always pray to seek God’s understanding. Corey told y’all to read the Bible like a newspaper. That’s Blasphemous!!! It’s a holy book and not to be compared to any man made books. Corey misinterprets God’s words as he’s not reading it to understand spiritually, he reads it to understand it with a carnal mindset.
What a difference it makes when you pray before you read this holy, spiritual book and let the Holy Spirit teach you and bear witness of God’s words. The Truth will set us all free. Try reading the Bible God’s way and not man’s way (ie.Corey’s way).

@@RealLadyG- I agree. For example, when people read the Book of Revelation and do not connect it to the Book of Daniel and other Biblical scriptures, PROPERLY and accurately, it unfortunately leads people to think there’s a pre-tribulation rapture with a Seven year tribulation that Israel and the rest of the world will go through, which Corey at this time as of 2024 January, and many others teach.
When no of that comes to past as Corey and other has been perching, that’s when the great turning of faith will start happening, because many believe in the birth and death of Christ but don’t know Christ and his plan for the church in the foreseeable future. (Search Project 2025 and From Babylon to America, and From America 2 Babylon.) People like this will lead many to fall away and die in fear and unbelief, as spoken in Revelation 21:8. How do I know this will be the case? Thanks to the Holy Spirit, praise God! Read Deuteronomy 6:1-8 and Revelation Chapter 13. This is what Corey and others need to understand; you don’t go with your private interpretation and what man has thought to you BUT, read it how God wants you to read it and understand. But like many who don’t want to get tried in the fire 🔥so that their faith can be turned into-gold and to have the patience needed to endure, instead they will get offended and fall back to what Satan has deceived them with Isaiah 30:10
A false teacher who doesn’t take the Holy Father’s business seriously, as shown by Jesus Christ’s at the age of 12 will perish in a lake of fire. “Perish” is another doctrine that many doesn’t believe will happen either; God isn’t a sadistic tyrant. But that’s a whole other topic. Amen.

The power attracts them, but they don’t really care about what the man is saying, just how he’s saying it. How else would so many of them get caught with 4-5 harlots? And the women don’t even attempt to hide that’s why they attend the service. Marcus Rogers, Jamal Bryant, Mike Todd. Lovi Elias, you’ll see women fawning in the front row at all their services.

@@BlessedAnita62 So you believe once saved always saved and if you backslide you can repent. Ok, Hypothetically let's say there's a guy who is saved goes out and cheats on his wife (adultery) and right after the act he dies, not having a chance to repent but rather dying in his sins. What will happen to him? Being that he died in sin, is he still once saved always saved? I'm having a hard time understanding the concept of the once saved always saved doctrine especially after I read scriptures like this, Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved.
This seems pretty clear that I have to make it to the end and then I am saved. I agree we all can backslide and all can repent because of Jesus but to say once im saved im always saved is (for lack of a better word) false. Because you yourself said that even though saved we can backslide and we know what our fate is if we die in our sins. So we have to make it to the end then and only then are we saved, according to the Bible.

He taught them that prayer in light of the old covenant. Under that system the forgiveness of sin was a progressive little by little, year to year day of atonement forgiveness system. The old covenant was a transactional system that required for us to do something to get something.
Under the new covenant, Jesus died once and all of those who are in Christ have been forgiven once for all.
Unlike the old covenant, the new covenant is not a daily transactional system. It’s a one time transactional system.
“Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.””
      ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
However, this by no means gives us the liberty to continue in sin. As a matter of fact, whoever continues in sin and claims to be saved is most likely not saved.
As far as confession… Since I know my sin is already forgiven I confess my sin and weakness to God and I ask Him to give me the strength and Grace not to fall into the same trap again. Is there remorse and repentance in me? Absolutely! But I’m not forgiven based on my level of remorse or how good I repent. I’m forgiven because of the precious blood of Jesus that was shed on Calvary for me and for you.
So as a believer, you aren’t being forgiven daily… but what you are being is strengthened and built up in the Lord daily so that you can be a daily living sacrifice that is pleasing and acceptable to HIM and only HIM.
I hope this made sense to you as I am sometimes all over the place in how I express my thoughts.

If you read the entire chapter the Lord speaking through the prophet Jeremiah is talking about how he saved the children of Israel out of hard bondage and gave them a land flowing with milk and honey, but they rebelled against Him. How He brought a great evil upon them and scattered and gave their land away. The Lord says he will still save Israel because they are his chosen and He made a promise to their fathers and cannot lie. So the new heart is specifically speaking to the children of Israel.

Its a shame that some of us are so quick to write another believer off because their understanding is not the same as ours. We are all trying to learn and not all of us are on the same level. I have learnt a lot over the years not because of pastors teachings alone, but by studying the Word of God for myself and confirming it by other scriptures. The Scriptures, especially without the Holy Spirit, is extremely difficult to understand, as sometimes it seems like it is contradicting itself. However, whenever you come across a scenario like this you know that you have not got the full understanding of that scripture and more study is required.
I have studied the doctrine of once saved always saved for many years and it didn't make any sense, as there were too many scriptures that were contradicting each other. Anyway as I continued to study, I realised that both scriptures are true if you understand them correctly. For the once saved always save doctrine to be true it means that you must abide in Jesus, as this is what Jesus himself said.
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." (John 15)
Paul said something similar to this, when he stated that those that are keeping the commandments don't have to worry about the consequences of not keeping them as they don't apply. Its like if you were driving and you pulled up at a traffic light. Then a police car pulled up next to you. You wouldn't be worried at all because you know you are keeping the law by stopping.
This is what the scriptures mean when it says you have eternal salvation. You know this is true because you have many examples in scripture where people lose their salvation because of not abiding in the commandments of Jesus.
Examples of this are the five foolish virgins, those believers that Jesus told to depart from him. You also have those who Jesus said that their names can be blotted out of the book of Life, not forgetting that their names were there from the foundation of the world. The main point here is to abide in him, if we don't then we are in danger.
    Paul said it like this:
Corinthians 9:27 King James Version (KJV)
but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
We have to remember that none of us have all the answers, as we are all moving on into perfection
    Peace and love

The Holy Spirit in believers is what keeps them abiding in Christ. Eternal security is true because if salvation. Required human maintenance and works in order to “Stay saved” , this would contradict the very nature of salvation itself, as God has defined it as a free gift fully paid for by the finished work of Jesus Christ. I say this, in love, understand that salvation can only be fully paid for by Jesus Christ to the ones who try to work their way to heaven, they will be denied at its very gates. Also research the record that God has given us about his Son, and the very nature of the eternal life. Also research what the word eternal means.
      1 John 5:10-12
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

@@trevormarks8801 Thanks for your comment Trevor. However, you didn't fully understand my comment
above. Its never about us doing works to be saved but its all about abiding in and accepting what he has
done. The only righteousness we can ever have is believing in Jesus and following what he has done. It is
is quite clear that all of us, bar none, ends up sinning after we become a Christian. Jesus has become our
sacrifice for sin, so all we need to do, when we sin, is ask for forgiveness and not having to kill goats or
      sheep.
This is what keeps us abiding in him. There is no limit to him forgiving us, that's why no one should be lost.

It seems to me that the people who do not subscribe to eternal security always, ALWAYS attack a strawman: liberty to sin. Whereas the stance regarding eternal security is that God changed you into a new creature, according to the Scriptures, and gave you a new heart, according to the Scriptures, so that you do NOT do that. Perhaps it is better to explain it as Him drawing a line and our new heart not letting us cross it. Or another way, before believing your will was conditioned to the sinful heart of the flesh, after believing your will is conditioned by the new heart of the Spirit. Scripture supports that statement in plenty of places. How the heart of man is, how he who sins is a slave to sin - if a man can be in a condition where he is a slave to sin, why can't he end up in a condition where he is a slave to righteousness? (Romans 6:17-18)

Sometimes we as Christians can get so wrapped up watching these types of videos that we forget to go out and share the Gospel, don't dig into the word don't pray much. Could even use videos like this to supplant getting into the Bible. We do need to expose falsehoods which is pretty much all charismatic faith I've seen so far, but we also need to watch our souls, our selves or we can get involved in stupid conversations that go nowhere and hurt those who may come to Jesus. There's enough videos to prove the falseness of those who are priests of the devil and those who are teachers of the word. And I'm just going to come right out and say it, I believe charismatic religion is in the same line of falseness as Mormonism, Jehovah witnessesism, Catholicism, ismism...At some point it becomes beating a dead horse. But I know this will not stop the countless exposure videos across CZcams, but for those of you who know in your soul that you should cut down on getting caught up in these things, you go out and make disciples, baptize them, teaching them everything that was commanded to you as a disciple should do.
    Matt 28: 18-20, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Rom 6:1-8
    ❤ 2 Timothy 2:23-26
But have nothing to do with foolish and ignorant speculations [useless disputes over unedifying, stupid controversies], since you know that they produce strife and give birth to quarrels. [24] The servant of the Lord must not participate in quarrels, but must be kind to everyone [even-tempered, preserving peace, and he must be], skilled in teaching, patient and tolerant when wronged. [25] He must correct those who are in opposition with courtesy and gentleness in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and be led to the knowledge of the truth [accurately understanding and welcoming it], [26] and that they may come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

I read the whole of John 5:24 as this " He who hears my word, and believes Him who sent me.... has eternal life, does not come into judgment but has passed from death to life...." Meaning there are two qualifiers... hearing the word and believing. When Jesus says he does not come into judgment, what time frame is he referring to? When we die. When we die, we face God. So in the context of when we face judgement, believers have passed from death to life bypassing condemnation to hell. But if a person dies who has heard the word and DOES not believe, then they do not qualify. Even if they once believed. Many people stop believing in God, it happens all the time. Bart Ehrman is a famous atheist who was once a preacher, and now spends his life marching people into Hell. He is not saved by any stretch of the imagination. He can still repent and come to forgiveness, but if he doesn't, he will spend eternity in Hell.

I agree that God and The Holy Spirit are fully capable of keeping those that are theirs. I would make the case however, that God will not keep someone from willingly selling their birthright. Jesus speaks of those who forfeit their redemption for persecution. He speaks of those who forfeit for the cares and lusts of the world (Mt 13:1-9 & 18-23). Paul tells us many will fall away. You cannot fall away from something you didn't have to begin with (2 Th 2:1-5, 1 tm 4:1). Peter speaks of it (2 Pt 2:21-22). Hebrews tells us it's possible (Hb 6:4-6 & 12:16-17).
God gives man the free will to turn and walk away.
I believe that those who ... once saved ... continue in the faith have eternal security. Those who willingly walk away ... do not.
I would never say you are leading people to hell. I'm only saying, we can willingly walk away.
I'm not ignorant on scripture. I've been doing this almost 35 years. I do not believe that a believer can have a demon. I am not a cessationist, but not crazy either.

once you know the truth, you cant walk away, that's like saying I came to the knowledge of the truth that the grass is green but im going to use my free will to deny this , how ridiculous!!! the truth is the truth, Paul doesn't say many fall away from salvation but from ('' the faith'' ) lets say some one came to the truth they trusted in Christ his death burial and resurrection they got saved, sealed, and Justified!! then 5 years later a Jehovah's wittiness comes in his life and teaches his false doctrines then he leaves the faith to go to the J.W , hes still saved hes just fallen from the faith!! giving way to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons ,
none of the scriptures you provided are about losing Salvation but getting mixed up in worldly ways and getting again entangled therein, and overcome, not lose of Salvation the spirit that's sealed until redemption day doesn't depart from you before redemption day, the eternal life you received by faith doesn't become not eternal, because of behavior or change of mind!

I've been preaching the gospel for 26 years and since I really studied the word I've never said to anyone
: once saved always saved. Nor have I ever said:.You can lose your salvation. and the reason is because neither statements are biblical.
My question is why do we insist on teaching something in a way that God didn't reveal it? it's too important of a topic for us to microwave it.Put it in a neat package and say oh once saved always saved. Sounds good just not a biblical statement. Does the Bible teach that we can be secure in Christ? Yes. Does the Bible teach that we need to finish the race? Yes,. Does the Bible teach that no one can snatch you out of His hand? yes
does the Bible teach that we need to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling? Yes
I think Peter said it best.He said when any man speak let him speak as the oracles of God.
Do you mean to tell me God didn't know this would be a problem?Do you mean to tell me that God couldn't have foreseen this and said oh, let me straighten them out in Matthew chapter 9 or in in James.Or somewhere, just let them know.Once they've always saved.
How about God is wiser than we are? And he knows what he's doing when he speaks. And we need to just stick with the word of God. And not make statements that are outside of the scripture and I think this problem gets solved. Now we can do a deeper teaching on this. But the problem is that we are animate about saying things in a neat package that are not biblical. In their origin. This is too important of an issue to not stick with the scripture.

ou dunatai hamartanein,(Greek )translated “cannot sin,” is a present infinitive. Baugh writes, “The fact that John chose to use the present infinitive…shows he was thinking about ‘sinning’ in v. 9 as a characteristic action. Hence, John does not teach ‘perfectionism’ that Christians can experience sinlessness in this life. Rather, when he says ou dunatai hamartanein he teaches that the genuine Christian cannot be characterized by a life of unrepentant sin.” [2]

    • @WendieRenee
      @WendieRenee Před 7 měsíci +2

@@ryantravis242 I don't believe it mean sinless perfection if that is what you're asking. That is also a false teaching as it opposes other scriptures. I believe from context (including the clarifying verses found within the whole counsel of the Holy Scripture) that it means a true believer who is regenerated and indwelled by the Spirit will not habitually sin without any conviction by the Spirit and desire to repent. It does not mean we do not sin. There are also scriptures that tell us that the Father will bring us to repentance through chastising circumstances. Jesus is also continually praying as our High Priest to keep us in the will of the Father. Believers are also imparted with a love of truth which inspires us to seek the scriptures as a light unto our feet.
So, its pretty clear that all members of the triune Godhead are continually working together as a measure of saving grace to keep those who are truly saved in Christ. Apostle John is stating a born again person cannot sin in the licentious manner that detractors suggest we are condoning. We are not saying you can habitually sin and die in an unrepentant condition but still be saved because there was a profession of faith. That's just what people hear. We are merely agreeing with scripture that this outcome CANNOT happen to a saved person because a regenerated believer carries God's seed within them and is being actively kept by God through ongoing saving grace. Yes, we have to be responsive but God ensures that we are inspired to be so. And He kicks our butt like any good parent if we try to go rogue, lol (Hebrews 12:3-11).
Those who appear to "lose" their salvation are proven to never have been regenerated. That is why Jesus states in several parables that "I NEVER knew you." It is also why He told Nicodemas that one must be born again to enter the Kingdom instead of saying those who make a profession alone. That theme of many Kingdom parables (wise versus foolish virgins, good versus bad fish, sheep versus goats, wheat versus tares, true versus false shepherds, etc).: He was alerting us to a distinction between the true and false professor of faith. He was not making distinctions between those who lose their salvation versus those who keep themselves in the faith.
Having lived as a false convert for many years, I understand experientially that a true change of nature occurred when I was spiritually awakened and indwelled and cannot credit this to myself. I am a different person and relate to God completely differently. It even amazes me how in my spiritually dead state I sincerely believed I loved Jesus but didn't desire to learn His Word or even have a sense that many of the sinful choices were sinful! If i had died in that condition, I would not have lost my salvation, I would have been proven as an unregenerate false convert. That is why this subject is very meaningful to me. People who teach one can lose salvation do great harm to the cause of Christ. No one comes to saving faith through a false gospel of works righteousness. False converts need to hear the truth that sets one free just like any other lost person outside the church. Jesus saves to the uttermost but we must truly be IN Christ by a faith firmly implanted in the good soil of the heart because it has been gifted and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Perhaps a more clarifying descriptor to naysayers would be "IF saved, always saved).

      I'll interject...
1 John 3:9 teaches the believer "cannot sin", not even once! Please let me explain.
Can we all agree the believer is created in the image of God? We are body, soul, and spirit (1 Thess. 5:23-24). Which part of the believer is "born of God"? Our spirit is born of God according to Jesus in John 3:6. When we have believed the gospel of Christ, our spirit is made "one" with Christ (John 14:20, 17:21-23, 1 Cor. 6:17). It's the spirit of the believer the bible considers as saved, not the flesh.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 1 John 3:5
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63
In 1 John 3 John is speaking of spiritual truth which applies only to the spirit "born of God". The believer is made spiritually one with Christ at the moment of faith and in Him is no sin! So whosoever is born of God (the spirit of the believer) cannot sin because he has been made spiritually* one with Christ and in Him can be no sin whatsoever. It doesn't mean we don't sin in our flesh, but that sins of the flesh are not imputed to the "new man" in Christ. The new man is a reference to our spirit in Christ which has been "created in righteousness and true holiness". The "old man" is crucified with Christ and is "dead" to God. We cannot please God from our mortal person. It's dead to God because of sin and only the new man remains. Can the dead man sin anymore? No, a dead man can do nothing and our mortal body is dead to sin. We cannot please God nor sin against Him from the mortal person because we're "dead to sin" in the flesh.
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:6-7
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:9-10
In understanding truths of scripture we have to distinguish between that which is physical and that which is spiritual. The physical is in the present, the spiritual is eternal because He's eternal and we are made spiritually one with Him. When He died, we died with Him. When He rose, we rose with Him. The spirit of the believer rose with Christ and is made* the righteousness of God "in Him".
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor. 5:21
The believer is not saved physically at this time, but "shall be changed" when Christ returns (1 Cor. 15:50-52). Only the spirit is currently "translated into the kingdom of His dear Son", not the physical being which "profitteth nothing" (Col. 1:13, John 6:63). This is spiritual truth only and has no application to the flesh in Colossians 1.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 1:13
It was this very passage of scripture from 1 John 3 which showed me the importance of using the KJV. It correctly uses the Greek word "poieo" which means not a single act of sin can be imputed to that which is "born of God". This spiritual truth cannot be applied to the mortal man, but only to the spirit born of God.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9

    • @WendieRenee
      @WendieRenee Před 7 měsíci

@@MikejHamel Hmmm . . . respectfully, from the context in preceding passages that follows through into the third chapter, it seems clear, even without any knowledge of Greek or use of the KJV, that John is not speaking exclusively about the sinless perfection of our spirit man nor of our imputed righteousness in John 3:9. He seems to be making an exhortative argument to saved believers that there is no excuse for habitual sin the life of those who are born of God. That is the topic at hand and why clarifying context is so important. We can sometimes over-spiritualize and give convincing arguments that sound valid on the surface but scripture supernaturally clarifies itself to keep us on topic.
Following his train of thought, John is speaking of the activity of habitual sinning (in word, thought or deed) and why this should not be experienced in the life of someone who truly belongs to God. He's warning those who might be tempted to use their relationship with Christ as an excuse to wantonly continue in sin. Again, that is the subject matter. He first reminds us that the purpose of Christ's redemption was to defeat the works of the devil and that our habitual sin would make His sacrifice appear pointless.
He also tells us that continuing in habitual unrepentant sin is inconsistent with our new nature. The regenerated believer has God's seed within us which makes it impossible to habitually sin without any sense of conviction or desire to change. Though John is speaking to true believers, he is answering the very objections that those who say one can lose their salvation give for preaching a works righteousness gospel to keep oneself saved. John knows that the distinction between a regenerate and unregenerate person is that these type appeals renew our mind to God's will and thus inspire us to obedience. The Scriptures themselves are a gift of saving grace.
While I wholeheartedly agree with you that we are currently seated in heavenly places in Christ, I don't believe that application works for John 3:9. I don't see why John would mid-discourse suddenly begin discussing how sin is never imputed to our spiritual man. The train of thought since the previous chapter has been focused on the sanctification of a believer not on legal justification. That's Paul thing, lol. John is affirming the many reasons why we should not adopt the grace-abusing mindset of "once saved, I can do what I wilt" That is the mindset of the devil! He is reminding us that true believers CANNOT think or behave this way because the very seed of God indwells us. Our new nature desires to please our Father and honor our Savior and Lord, not figure out ways to slip into heaven unchanged and unrepentant.
This is why the argument that the truth of eternal security will cause many to go to hell for being encouraged to habitually sin is baseless. This understanding may cause a false convert to purposely abuse grace but not Christ's true sheep. The crux of the matter is that anyone who does not change and continues living in habitual sin without any sense of conviction or desire to pursue ongoing repentance and also sides with the world/culture to persecute, mock and demonstrate hatred toward God's true children who are allegedly their brothers and sisters is revealing that they are not in true relationship with Christ.
Now, I went further than John did simply to support eternal security by throwing in how the triune God continually works together to keep us enduring in faith and love until the end. My point remains that the whole counsel of scripture only supports that justification, sanctification and glorification are a collective all-inclusive salvific work of God flowing out of His saving grace that works through our faith in Christ's redemption. That's the Gospel.
Yes, as saved believers we are not passive but must still be responsive to God's grace by denying our flesh and making righteous choices (which is the what John is reminding us) but as I mentioned, the triune Godhead continually wills and works in the true sheep to do His good pleasure so we cannot really take credit even for our consistent responsiveness (Philippians 2:11; Titus 2:11-14; Philippians 1:6).
      2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
The Good News is that Christ saves to the uttermost those who receive Him --both our spirit man and our physical selves-- eventually giving us glorified bodies, conquering death for us, and removing us from the very presence of sin. He alone is our salvation. If we must in any manner secure our own salvation than Christ's blood has limited power, God's salvation promises are not reliable, and we'd have reason to boast in ourselves and more than others, right? Ephesians 2:8-9 should put that Gospel opposing thought to rest!

I'm fair in assessments of what's being taught and preached. Many times I see the Bible being taught in sincerity...yet subjectively by one's understanding of certain verses and passages. What Chris is talking about are those who appear to be setting themselves apart as the only ones who rightly divide scriptures. Yet are missing the scriptures by context in aspects of what the writers of the original manuscript meant. Translations and subjective "truths" are what I noticed as the basis for many arguments. Eternal security is CHRIST. We're called to remain disciplined, discipleship is the following of the TRUTH OF GOD in CHRIST. But just like faith in CHRIST is the actual ENTRY for salvation for our souls....one can walk away willingly and depart from the LORD. Once saved always saved is a doctrine that must emphasize the HOW one remains saved. We're not saved without CHRIST. And willfully walking away from GOD and being totally blasphemous against GOD will not gain anything. 🙏💯❤️

I believe what Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 4 that people would be receptive to doctrines of demons is what these guys are doing Corey. They believe a Christian can have a demon? That’s the main reason Christ gave us a new spiritual nature was so that He and the Father could make their home in us. John 14. So if the spirit of Christ dwells in us how could a spirit that is not born of God be in the same house? Matthew 12:43 says when an evil spirit as cast out it goes about in dry places seeking rest and finds non. Then I goes back and finds that house empty and swept. If it came back to a believer it would come back to find the house is occupied with the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus said satan has no place in Him, so if we are in Christ how could an evil spirit occupy the a place in the body of Christ? I believe that is a doctrine of demons. The first person I ever heard say that was Benny Hinn. And we all know how solid his doctrine is.

Love to be 40 again? Are you kidding? That means I'd have to see my Mom and Dad and younger brother pass away all over again? No thanks! I simply don't love this world that much anymore. It's always been foreign to me and since I know we are real close to the end, I look forward to it. Be 40 again? I'll pass!
