- I'm a community enforcement volunteer! I make a scene at every town hall meeting. I own three Police Interceptors, all bought for under $2,000. I load up a Glock 17, drop my pants, and take aim at my front door from my kitchen table. With the power of imagination, I defend my home again and again and again and again.

Hey I know this is an old comment but I figured I'd share that my town uses a blacked out caravan as an unmarked police car, my buddy got pulled over by it one time and didn't think it was a real cop.

They have them here in NYC too lmao

I think another factor in why people like the P-71 is that the Crown Vic is unmistakably an "old man's car" ... but the P-71 is like that old dude who knows karate, runs three miles every day, religiously has a shot of whiskey with his bacon and eggs breakfast; and you think he might've killed at a man in 'Nam with his bare hands but you're not going to dare to ask lest you get an honest answer.

Probably isn't nowadays, since the Explorers and Chargers took over.
By me it’s all Tauruses and Chargers these days 😔

What's wrong with thinking this car looks good?
It's kinda...unique.
What people don't seem to get about Mr Regular is that these reviews aren't so much about the cars themselves as much as it is about the culture of the period, the societal context surrounding the car, and the people who bought and drive them. He said in his grand national video "go look at the endless review videos if you want to talk numbers". those plain Jane hp/tq/1/4mile/0-60/slolum review videos get very boring very quickly.
All of these reviews are unique because every car has a different market, a different context and it's fun to go out and find people who drive these cars and come to realize Mr. Regular hit the nail on the head with who is driving them, or get a better understanding of why these cars are the way they are because of the period they were born into. I know people who own the Honda Oddessy, the eagle talon, the Subaru Impreza Sti, Honda del Sol, Saturn L Series from 2000, Ford F150 and his reviews all captured the people who drove their respective cars. it's uncanny how much a vehicle is a reflection of its owner.
What people don't seem to get about Mr Regular is that these reviews aren't so much about the cars themselves as much as it is about stereotyping the people who bought and drive them.
FTFY
+drowssapma your edit isn't entirely accurate. he has occasional history lessons that detail the geo/political/societal influences of the period of the car. the culture is also prevalent in his reviews, not just the people.
Which is fine, when they actually *do* capture the people who drive them, instead of taking wild mass guessing, and passing on the rage they feel for being afraid when one of these cars is behind them.
The P71 generally has better performance, and better handling than the standard variants. If someone chose to drive the best performing version of any other vehicle, nobody would say anything. Even if it was a vehicle that one doesn't necessarily expect to have high performance - like a pickup truck. Oh, but no - if someone gets a P71, it's automatically: "Oh, they just want to have authority and pretend they're the police!"
I don't think he did an STi review
Um do keep an objective view, not everyone who rides an STi fits the mold painted here. For one thing the world has women in it, they do drive. Second, there's a lot more personalities than "bro" in a man too. He's dealing with a stereotype of his design. It's funny, but it's not exactly descriptive of the owners of a car all over the world lol.
A new stereotype to add to civilian P-71 owners is a complete lack of a sense of humor. These fucking comments, man.
Only thing you're going to do in a P71 is scare the shit out of the paranoid, and be inevitably stuck behind someone doing 10 under the speed limit, and driving like a 90 year old grandma, out of fear.
its funny because this is probably the only review they saw on the channel so they dont know the review style and get butthurt
***** To be fair, they were exceptionally harsh on this one, even when considering their other reviews. Even the Challenger one they actually spent at least half the time, y'know - actually reviewing it. Plus the "OMG I WANTS TO BE THE POLICE" thing got old after the 5th time repeating themselves.
Im a p71 owner and a civilian and found it funny.
i know he made fun of both of my cars and i lol'd. wasnt mad at all. chill out.

Having lived my whole life in NoVA, RCR really hit the nail on the head with his description of driving around here
Whether you think it's a good engine or not, you have to admit that 4.6 sounds great at mid-high RPM.
Fuck yeag
idk sounds kind of asmathic
What does it matter if the car is a slug? Your probably the type of guy who thinks his bone stock 85 tbi Chevy is a road rocket because he put glass packs on it
233monte I wouldn't call this a slug. They're not blisteringly fast, but I think the P-71's make about 250 Wheel Horsepower which really isn't bad at all. Plus, the 2 Valve 4.6 was never meant to be a performance engine, they're service engines, and it makes as much sense that they used them in Crown Vic's as it does that they used them in F-150's, they're extremely reliable and make a usable amout of power. What I mean by that is, you're never inconvenienced by the amount of power it makes, they're just as useful to a 76 year old Lady getting groceries in her Lincoln Town Car as they are to a Police Officer chasing down a stolen rusted out Chevy Pickup being driven by a questionably racist tweaker high on whatever he found under his seat. Holy shit that was a surprisingly good Mr. Regular impression. Anyway, no, I'm not that type of guy.
MaxTheKanuck they make 250 CRANK horsepower. 0-60 in maybe 8 seconds

We don't have high speed car chases in Finland because police use VW Transporters mostly ;-) Crown vic is one of my favorites along with the B-Body GM cars. Last of the dinosaurs...
+Davide Bertolo (Masterblack91) not like that in many places. you buy the retired cars from the cops directly at auction. though until hearing about the fear factor, i never considered getting one because of the high miles on the engine.

i got mine for 1k at a police auction. it was a supervisor car so its very stealth
Ander 109 but I bet that half a car is a trick to drive, don’t ya hear
My son and two friends were in a rollover collision in his P71 Vic (hit by a foreign driver). The car rolled three times shearing off the drivers side wheel and completely flattening the car. They sustained serious injuries but what saved their lives was the reenforced pillars on the car. After my son healed from his broken neck and leg , I bought him another one. Make fun of or say what you want these cars are the next best thing to a tank IMO.
They're great, cheap cars for sure. Especially for a high school or college kid that's looking for a reliable car with good MPG to get around in.
+narutoblivion i wouldn't say it's good mpg but ok for what it is
+narutoblivion where do you get good mpg?
i own a p71, not good mpg but it's better than what most trucks are. i don't lead foot it all the time so that helps w/ gas mileage unlike those truck drivers...

YOU LIKE IT YOU LIKE IT YOU LIKE IT YOU LIKE IT
One of my favorite videos you’ve made. 8 minutes of you roasting me for buying an old police car. Thank you
"There's only one reason why you buy the P71 Interceptor: It's because you wanna look like a cop. It's because you wanna look like a cop. It's because you wanna look like a cop. It's because you wanna look like a cop. You wanna look like a cop, you like it, you like it, you like it, you like it, you like it"
I'd buy a P71 interceptor because it's literally the cheapest drift missile on the market. Would you rather buy a $2000 Crown Vic, learn how to drift with it, and if you crash it no big deal? Or would you like a $9000 Mazda Miata or BMW where if you crash it, you'd have to bust your ass for five MORE years to even have a chance at finding one on your budget?
miatas are not $9k cars. nobody drift a nc
None of this comment make sense. Neither the miata nor the vic is a good drift platform. The vic weighs a ton and it gives you revolting body rolls on stock suspension. You will need to invest a lot in addition to the $2000 purchasing price. The miata is a little bit more capable of being a drift car but the short wheel base and lack of power will spin you out constantly. Why do I know that? Because I own them both and have attempted to drift. The vic is straight out horrifying when losing control, it feels like it is about to roll over.
@@lordsaishu9157 What about an old BMW?
Yeah, I don’t know why he decided to try to nail that point so hard. It’s a cheap car with decent characteristics that has been more than likely taken care of pretty well over the years. It’s like if he made a video about the Charger and spent the beginning quarter of it bitching about Charger drivers being wannabe Cops.
He just hates Fords. If he found a charger cop car he'd be praising it.
I have a 2000 P71 here in Sweden, so the "pretend cop"-argument doesn't apply here :D I have the car because I've always liked how it looks. It's also my very first car, people here usually get a Volvo as their first car but I wanted something special as my first car. I'm the only person in a great radius of my town who owns a Crown Vic.
How's it do in the snow?
Glenn Vernes nope they’re absolutely horrible in the snow but it’s also amazingly fun
Glenn Vernes I have a 2008 p71 btw
Very nice! I have one in Florida so I don't have to worry about snow. I drives great on the highway. It's very easy to find yourself way above the speed limit without even trying. Cops / Hwy patrol don't use these where I live so there's rarely any reaction from people when they see it.
@@kgcuckooclocks3837 True story man, Im going 90 on 95 North coming back from Vero Beach I look in my rear view Z-28 Highway patrol (Circa 2005)... I was like shiitttttt! Got over, he passed me...accident ahead about a mile. Heart stopped there for a bit!
The main reason people buy these 15 old year cars is that theyve been maintained very well. You can't easily find any other car with this mileage and price that has been maintained regularly.
found one 200+ miles with a perfect notepad dating every maintenance done with mileage next to it, the longest period without any work done being just over three months, and that's ignoring components installed.
8:30 The belt noise is because of no overrun clutch on the alternator!
thumbs up if you had to look it up.
Guy I work with bought one of these. Put rims on it and dropped a $5,000 sound system in it. Called it good.
They are big, comfortable, reliable, cheap and with decent performance. Around here taxi companies buy them, slap some black paint on them and drive the piss out of them.
Decent performance my ass. The thing is suuper slow. I don't even know why they called it a "police interceptor," when its 0-60 time is beaten by tiny little 1-2 liter 4 cylinder engines.
But yeah, big, comfy, reliable, cheap, and ironically it handles really well for a gigantic 18 foot car even though speed and acceleration are basically on par with a Toyota Prius.
Jeff DeWitt I wouldn’t call it comfortable. Most of that is just from the size of it and the actual ride is fairly harsh.
I actually want one of these for a number of reasons.
1. fuel mileage is pretty damn good for a v8
2. they are pretty damn cheap
3. the interior in most of them is immaculate and nice
4. great trunk space for all the dead bod...i mean luggage for long trips
5. V8 POWER!!!!!!!
literally the fact that people may mistake me for a cop is a nice bonus...but certainly no where near a good reason as to why I want one.
+Moondog Gaming And if you dont drive like a maniac, the car will last you a while! A great choice for people just out of school. It certainly isn't the fanciest thing around, but my car payment is $0! I have an 05 and I haven't had any problems with it. Regular maintenance must be performed of course, but its been a solid buy. And Its so roomy! I like it a lot.
v8 power LMAO. These cars get outrun by 3.6 Caravans
I had a 1988 Mercury Grans Marquis (twin) with the AOD and the 5.0L (302CID) V-8 Got 23 in the city and 30 highway and mixed driving 24 MPG. I drove mine when gas was over 4.00 a gallon and it was still cheap to gas up mine only has a 13 gallon tank and I would get close to 300 miles on 93 octane miss the panther platform. Best known for durability reliability and easy to find parts and service. All panther bodys mechanics are interchangeable expect for certain body panels cars shared the same engines transmissions, A/C controls and parts to cut costs and make them easy to service. Long Live the Panther platform. The only Panther to stay away from was the Town Car only because of the faulty Air suspension but they make after market kits to delete the air ride. They even make an air ride delete kit for the Fox body Lincoln Continental (1982-1987). I own this Lincoln and brought the deletion kit for all for shocks for 199.99 plus tax from suncoreindustries.com.
the 4.6 is an outdated engine, obviously it would get outrun by a 3.6 caravan, because the 3.6 isn't outdated
That 4.6 V8 has NO power. That 4.6 V8 is super underpowered for the giant 4200 lb behemoth that is the Crown Vic, hell it will BARELY outrun a damn Prius.
Granted, the V8 doesn't have bad torque at low RPMs, but Chrysler had their primitive versions of the Hemi, and GM had their primitive versions of the LS, both making MUCH more power than that Ford "V8" making as much power as a de-tuned 4 cylinder engine.
What Ford should have done is stick a truck engine in the Vic. Later models should have come with a tuned up 6.8 V10.
The PI's handle way better, they're faster, they look better, they don't look like grandpa's car, they are the best panther platforms out there (except for the Marauder that is).
They last a lot of miles too and are cheap mileage aint bad for a v8 25 mpg highway.
My ‘07 Crown Vic Lx Sport is fun too drive for sure
They're NOT very much faster than the civilian Vic, and the LX is actually nicer looking than the P71.
I want one because it's a great daily. Buy it for 2k, lasts forever.
There's a reason police and taxi services have used this car forever. They are built good, and for the most part easy to work on.
Dude at 8:25 probably thought he got clocked for speeding lol
You're exactly right about how awful Fairfax and the Beltway are.
Being an owner of a copped out P71....this is the most accurate review I have ever watched.
Amateur Judge Dredd starter kit lol.
These cars are pretty awesome though.
It doesn't matter if they're better than owning a super car. It's what people buy because cops drive them. Nobody cares if a Lincoln town car passes by, nobody cares if a Buick century passes by, people only care about this shape.
No no they aren't try again
+Marcello Penk-Masucci Well this on or a Chevy Caprice...
+Charles Satterthwaite By awesome he meant better than half of the crap on the road, but not as good as half the newer crap on the road. It's what's under the hood that counts.
+swSephy | PC Gaming & Cars I own a Grand Marquis and I fully agree. They may not look the nicest but you can't beat the truck feel and ride on the highway at a whole 1400RPM. Gets better MPG than my older V6 fusion got.
I love these reviews because for us owners they keep us humble
The Crown Victoria P71 is the most iconic vehicle in history. No other vehicle in law enforcement history has been trucking on for 40+ years and 12 years after they discontinued it. In NJ we still have 2004 vics in service and the rust hasn't even got to them yet
I am one of those guys but honestly, I really like the styling, durability and its reliability. As long as you don't impersonate a police officer which is a federal crime, it is totally acceptable to own a police interceptor. All in all, what better car can you get for $2k??
I like em because they are cheap, reliable and roomy not to mention decent power.
isn't it really expensive to fill these cars?
You can get a regular Crown Vic, Grand Marquis or older Town Car for 2k all day long on craigslist. They aren't worth very much and you're going to have put money into maintenance items regardless. The civilian models tend to be a lot more comfortable and don't smell like prostitutes and vomit (and shame). The trade off is 15 fewer hp and a 2:73 rear end. I have an 03 Grand Marquis, it's comfortable and has great passing power on the highway but these aren't fast cars. They all chew up suspension bits because they're so heavy.
+watwillwedonext if you think $40 - $50 per tank is expensive you should stop working fast food. I drive an older 1986 LTD Crown Victoria LX and it gets slightly worse than the newer crown vics. Love the car to death. If I were going to get a newer one it'd be a Mercury Marauder for sure, though.
I like em because they are cheap, very roomy, tough as nails, good on highway gas and have decent power!
His high pushes on through the power of Fink.
EM
A buddy of mine had one of these in college. All black, black steel wheels with chrome centers, still had the front push bar, spotlights still worked, and at the time in the state of Indiana, you could order black “D.A.R.E.” plates, which of course he did. Add tint that was legal, but just dark enough to obscure your identity and a legit CB and antenna (and yes, it worked) and you were in like Flynn. Yes, it was a ragged out ex-cop car with no carpet, but there is such a feeling of power knowing that you could drive as fast as you wanted with ZERO chance of getting pulled over.
It’s also hysterical finding drunk freshmen walking on the sidewalk at 3AM, hitting them with the spotlight and watching them scatter like a gun went off.
Even years later, I can hear this every time I see one of these or any other obviously former police car. Absolutely timeless.
I want to import one to Australia. Such a stunning yet simple design on this car.
good luck converting it to RHD
Kyle Soler Why would I bother? LHD cars are legal to drive here
+MrHeyfuckoff Same here man! The CVPI is my dream car. Easily the most iconic and legendary car of all time. Only problem is they have to be 30years old to be able to import/register here in NSW -.- I just hope there will still be crown vics in good condition in the year 2036+ (want to get the 2006 + CVPI)
Alex CVPI Yep :P or get a 98' Crown Vic in 2028 :P
+Hiroshi T The Marauder had the DOHC V8 in it. The CVPI had a SOHC V8. They make civilian Vics to. Grand Marquis which are identical to.
8:25 - 8:34 sounds like every vehicle pursuit ever on Cops.
+Jack Daniel yes! lol
+Jack Daniel Hah, yeah. The sound of the 4.6 winding out the long gears of the 4 speed auto... one of those sounds of motoring that most of us can place immediately.
+Jack Daniel Haha, yeah. I heard that shit and it made hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
+Jack Daniel Yeah, it's a great sound! These engines actually sound really good with a custom exhaust and mufflers installed. It loses the instantly recognizable sound of the interceptor, but the standard P71 2.5" exhaust is too restrictive, I don't know what Ford was thinking.
+JuggernautOfWar I love the Mercury Marauder in this body style. I don't know a whole lot about Fords, but, is the motor in the Marauder pretty much the same as the p-71?
Who doesn’t want to look like cop? You have the power and authority to push people around with intimidation.
Bought my p71 in late 2021 and it’s been a rock. Driven it across country, across Texas dozens of times, used it as a stunt practice mule and competed (well) in amateur Rallycross racing.
Great machines to master car control.
So a bit of back story: I do automotive videography and photography and I currently own a Stage 3 Focus ST. I wanted a daily driver and I happened to find a black P71 with the light bar, push bar, spotlight, everything. Even the computer inside and the PA still works! So I bought that since it makes appearances in my videos, works great to block off parts of deserted roads for shoots, and I parked it on the side of the road when working with models next to cars so other drivers stay extra safe when driving by. It's great, but whenever I'm just driving around and I notice someone driving exactly the speed limit and constantly looking over at me, I get on the PA and say "don't worry, I'm not a cop". I've been trying to find some magnetic decals for the sides that say "movie car" or something so people don't think I'm a cop all the time. However it is nice not getting cut off or tailgated in traffic
My crown Vic is black with tinted windows and two Spotlights and CB antennas and a push bar bumper nobody ever screws with me
Donald Trump 2K16 I don't care about cop cars at all..I'm sure the police Taurus is nice but I don't car for it.....but I do think the police crown vic and caprice are very cool cars
I agree actually I'm getting rid of my crown Vic for an 03 suburban

is it white because white is your favorite race.. i mean color? :D
Best car review I've seen in a long time. Great job!
My first taste of RCR. I’m glad I found this video.
How about, instead of wanting to look like a cop or getting these just for the reason they're what cops drive, I've always wanted a Crown Vic because I love the way they look? I'm mean, come one, I'm a Chevy fan but I love these cars, they're the only cars left that "look" like real cars, not every other wedge, prius shaped thing. This thing has a hood, cab, and trunk. When I picture a car, this things shape, it's silhouette is what I picture, the Crown Vic specifically. I still want one of these. If I could find a regular civilian model, sure, but these are everywhere and constantly being auctioned off for near dirt cheap.
Get one before they're all headed to the scrapper or demolition derby. I'd never scrap a car or put one in a derby. I don't care what car/make/model it is, I have feelings for it. It's kind of difficult to explain lol. I'm a weirdo
@@Lincolnator721 You're not a weirdo. You're a good man.
Actually, there's one other reason to buy a Ford Crown Vic P71 Police Interceptor; You like some of the features that they've got as opposed to the standard Ford Crown Vics of that period. Furthermore, the NYPD has Nissan Altimas as cop cars, of all things. I still prefer the Crown Vic.
I just bought mine because i like a cheap rwd V-8 thats roomy and reliable.
***** I like the lime green color and ruggedness! I like the taxi color and police performance and its simple as hell, it gets good mileage and gets me from point a to b!
Yeah, acceleration is not all that great, but that is because the car is heavy but once your already running at 60 you can hit 100 easily if you dont pay attention, they have alot of torque.
***** Amen to that!
I really wish people would stop using P71 to refer to them. I know, I know - VIN codes are kewl, but they also tend to be subject to change. For example, 2010-2011 CVPIs have the VIN code P7B

+General Cabbagehead for a minute
For a non-american, this looks like a regular 90s/early 2000 sedan. I might even call it a sleeper (because of the quick-ish nature of this car). I wouldn't notice it in traffic.
+Behemothokun Tread lightly here, many Americans get salty when foreigners don't understand our native stereotypes/misconceptions/theories/hypocrisy/crap-talking.
_Just nod and wave. It really is just a big RWD sedan._
+Behemothokun Well in other countries, police drive a variety of little Subarus or Hyundais just like everyone else, but painted in day-glow pastels so that you can identify them as police cars.
The thing about this P71 is that, for a long time, almost every police officer in the country would use them. It wasn't the color of the car that gave them away, but the silhouette. The shape of that car became ingrained in our national psyche as "the police". So just seeing that body style triggers something inside us that makes you slow down to the speed limit, double check that your seatbelt is on, and inconspicuously drop your weed out of the window.
+Sean McKinley Yes, every single city painted the cars diffirently. Sometimes green and black, sometimes white and black, some are completely black and some are completely white. Some even put blue.
+douchechillum Nowadays I become hyper-aware of my own actions in the presence of not only a Crown Vic, but also the newer Taurus, Explorer, and Charger in dark gray or black. The world was so much simpler back in the CVPI days.
For an American seeing a car like this is like "fuck... I hope I don't get pulled over."
I own two of these.
I'm not even mad, this review is amazing.
Now that I own a crown Vic I love this video more than ever. I'm playing the audio through my radio as I work on it.
I don't want airbag suspension, I have 32s on my battle car
the Crown is the best. admit it
Chief Ray it’s the best ford made after 2000, in fact it’s the only good ford made after 2000
69 Polara is better
@@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK Don't forget the GT and the Mustang.
Lol love mine, sometimes you honestly gotta drive over a curve. NO ONE thinks im a cop, funny thing is most cop cars have lights and big bold words the say “blank” CITY POLICE.
Jaden Horne mustangs stopped being good after the foxbody
As an owner of a black P74 LX Sport (The Prototype Mercury Maurader) I do everything in my power to AVOID trying to look like a cop. Everyone always gets excited and say how I need an Interceptor badge or black steelie rims and I always refuse. I'd rather be confused for a cheapo Uber driver than a cop because, as any Crown Vic owner may tell you, the cop thing gets old super fast. People don't mess with you, but they also freak out and act weird around you so you better get used to changing lanes to pass as everyone slows to 65 as soon as they see the headlights (a good reason to get ghetto aftermarket projectors). I bought mine because it was dirt cheap, in great condition, and the LX Sport is fun to throw around. Its a great land boat and sure, I could have bought a Town Car but you really want a '97 and those are rare unless you're into grandma champagne gold or Lion's Club Silver-blue. It's a great review as always and you're right, most people who buy a P71 SPECIFICALLY want to play cops and robbers,
ever since i was little I've always wanted to fly to the US, buy one of these things and tour around the country with it, then just sell it before i come home to australia. would be fuckin awesome
one of the most weirdly informative videos I have come across on youtube. I love it. Subscribed
2:19 He does realize Police did have some Caravans, right (at least in Canada)?
And he didn't mention enough how solid a car it is. I've driven one. It's great.
I knew all about it except for the 1-2 inch raise for curbs. It has a 252 hp V8 that is actually pretty peppy and can get 20.5 mpg combined CTY/HWY (tested). Not that bad really for a 4,300 lbs, full-chassis car.
It's also safer than a locomotive, more reliable than a Jeep Wrangler, and pretty damn roomy. In terms of daily use functions, it has very little downside.
+Joseph Summers You'd be hard-pressed to get 20mpg average in a police interceptor. You could probably manage it in a civilian vic, town car, or grand marquis if you're doing a lot of highway driving, but definitely not a P71.
+MrSEANDEERE 20 MPG is really not bad at all for a car of it's size with a sharper rear end. My Honda Prelude BARELY does any better (about 24) with less than half the displacement and weighing in at just over 2,400 lbs. sans driver. I think the panther body makes a lot of sense as a daily.
+MrSEANDEERE You make a good point, but for young people who aren't looking to buy a new car it STILL makes sense. You can pick up a decent panther for a bit over 3k, not have to get full coverage insurance, and have cheap replacement parts that will be in stock at any parts store in North America. How many miles would you have to put on the Dart to break even with the mileage difference realistically? You also have the added luxury of not really caring if it gets dinged by a shopping cart or if your buddy throws up on the carpet. It's a good car for the 20-something going paycheck to paycheck.
ThatOneGuy A bit over 3k? Try a bit over 1k. They give the damn things away at auctions.
Also, gas is currently the cheapest it's been in years and it's expected to keep dropping through 2016. Now's the time to own a panther.
A dodge dart could probably be picked up for 10-15k at the cheapest. It'd take a long time to bridge the cost difference solely on fuel consumption. A lot of people don't realize how much money a car payment actually takes out of your wallet each month.
sugahotcakes
That's what my calculations got. Drove an '01, well-maintained P71 for a year. Filled the tank up, drove 50/50 city and highway (@ 105 kph/65 mph), refilled it when it was down to 1/4 tank, and I believe the exact number was 20.4 US mpg. Mind you, it was a small, not crowded city, so the city driving had not that many stops compared to a big/normal city. It's a good V8 and the gearing is great for highway speeds.
I think Mr. Regular was actually jacking it for that part in the beginning. Seemed too real.
LOL This is such a good video!!! Mr. Regular's humor is well on point as always.. And expected. I also used to own a p71, so many humorous observations completely accurate!!!
I knew he was going to crap allllllll over the fact that people buy these for false sensation of a power trip. Well done sir! Laughed my way through the whole vid.
The first minute and a half of this video is just pure magic
"...the guy who open carries at his cousin's bar mitzvah." Died.
There are a few small benefits to these in terms of reliability, as they typically have larger rads and such, plus one huge benefit is that they usually also have an aluminum drive shaft.
+katie_incredible Also note that another nice benefit is that cops don't pay QUITE as much attention to these as any other car, because, obviously. They're not wasting their time chasing down one of their own, so if you're not being a complete idiot, they usually wouldn't bother.
Dude. You’re hilarious. The p71 Crown Vic is the best version of the panther in my opinion for its suspension. It has the least convenient options because it’s not meant for comfort. It has an external oil cooler, it has better brakes, it has an external transmission cooler, it has silicone coolant hoses. It has Kevlar in places I won’t share because I like my life. I don’t wear sun glasses (and I’m lying). Rubber floors! 200amp alternator! Higher shifting points! Yep.
This got SO real SO QUICK I'm surprised you didn't retire immediately after making it. Surprised, and pleased!
The karma police cover 😍
haha I own a p71 and this is hilarious but I bought mine because it came with a turbo kit on it already. Wasn't till afterwards I fell in love with the panther platform. Now I want to swap the kit over to a town car for luxury. But honestly a p71 for under 2 grand is a legit vehicle and I can't think of another car that will last as long for that cheap.
Idk the town car handles worse is the only thing
P-71 Crown Victoria: the official car of me loudly yelling “fucking fed” every time I pass one.
All the cars you listed have been used by law enforcement though... FYI the Dodge Grand Caravan, Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Mercedes-Benz 190e have all been used by various law enforcement agencies. 190e most commonly in Europe. Grand Caravan for transport and UC/Detectives. Grand Cherokee is used in UC/Detective work, as well as areas prone to inclement weather, and I've seen them used by DNR/Game Wardens.
I have an '09 crown vic and just bought a 22inch decal that says NOT A COP. But its a fun RWD car
I wish these things came with a manual gearbox. I've seen some conversions, and they made me drool with lust.
Watching this on an rcr binge this is probably the best rcr intro ever
Now I want one.... god damn it I DIDN'T WANT ONE BEFORE NOW BUT THIS VIDEO MADE ME!!!
UUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHTHORITY
I hope BlankPicketSign doesn't become an agent of the Secret Police.
There's a guy in the car group that I'm apart of who has a similar P-71 only it's white and has a pushbar. For a while he had a decal that said "Booty Patrol" on the side but he took it off for some unknown reason.
I bet people read that as they drove by and yelled at him for being a douche...or the gf made him do it.....
Girlfriend made him rip it off.
lol did this with my Vic but instead we put Titty Patrol. It got a lot of laughs and smiles before we washed it off. Loved it
This review... friggin A+ man
Thanks so much!
I laughed so hard at your diatribe in the beginning BECAUSE ITS SO TRUE. Best one you’ve done that I’ve seen so far
I have a crown vic that I use to deliver pizza. People get really confused when I roll up with their food. Mileage is garbage but the cabin/trunk space is REALLY good.
I like the styling... lol
Look up the mercury marauder
essentially a better Mercury Grand Marquis with Lincoln's 32 Valve InTech V8.
@@totoafrica3030 a marauder isnt as hot as a clean p71
Police in Texas drive Camaros and Mustangs now. :/
why? we all do 20 over anyways.
east texas but dallas at 3am is nothing but races, hardly any cops care
All I see are chargers and Ford suvs
All i see in Texas are chargers and impalas!
And Taurus u forgot they drive Taurus to
I had the Chevy 9C1 (1994) - courtesy of LAPD auction - when I bought it, it had a pool of dried blood on the floor, a shotgun shell, a small caliber bullet in glove compartment and a half lasagna - about 3 months old. But I knew I got into something special when driving home on the freeway, the six-lane LA traffic kept 300 yards following distance. The car had insane power - under and above the hood.
Was awesome seeing the signs for Ox Road and Burke Lake Park. That park is where my wife and I got engaged. Thanks for the memories man!
Another great video!
in a situation like this you can only think in metaphors
+Mamac2006 I read your comment in Fernando's voice. I couldn't help it.
i should have changed my profile picture, this was a quote from "Dick justice"
This review was perfect and further lamented my choice to snag a panther chassis as my first car.
Edit: I just got an 07 for 700$ and I am absolutely infatuated.
Edit x2: bought a second one for 500 dollhairs
+Karl Marx In the words of Shia.. JUST DO IT!
+Karl Marx Why would you regret it. It's a great bang for the buck!
Showed this to one of my friends, who's also a cop and dailies these things. He loved this.
"This is for the guy who open-carries at his cousin's Bar Mitzvah"
💀🔥🔥🔥
I'm inclined to agree with RCR; if you wanted a nice Panther Platform car, you would have bought the Civilian Crown Victoria (they made them up to 2011 as rental cars) or (even better) the Mercury Grand Marquis, which has the same basic shape as the Civ Crown Vic and P71, but has luxury options you can't get in the P71. most people would not think of the Lincoln because they branded it as an "Old Man's Car"
Civilian CVs were only manufactured up until 2007-2008. P71s and other service variants were manufactured until 2011-2012.
Also, some people don't give a rats ass about "luxury options" - the ones that do matter, like power windows, locks and seats, do come in P71s, and since the car shares the same dash, it's easy to just pick up and install a stock AM/FM CD - if you didn't want to replace it with an aftermarket stereo anyway.
+Digital_Utopia true, the RETAIL Crown Vic (the one you would buy right off the showroom floor at your local Ford Dealer) was discontinued in 2007, but the LX trim was made until 2011 for rental fleets; they got tachometers and digital speedometers, and 5 spoke alloy wheels.
Heh, weird. I guess I didn't realize there was that much of a demand for Crown Vic rentals.
+Digital_Utopia they were large comfortable cars that can eat up hundreds of miles a day, making them great for long trips for when you didn't want to put the wear and tear on your own car.
Unless it WAS your everyday car... I miss my Marquies... 1200 miles in a day. And only 4 stops for gas...
I've had 3 of these cars and every single thing Mr. Regular said about the people who drive these cars is 100% true. lol
well said friend, well said.
Love the rant at the beginning of the video! 😃
I've found the best youtube channel. No need to search for something to fill the void of emptiness inside of me anymore.
