This womans voice knows no bounds. She was 62 here.
She looks 10 years younger
@@bobbyb2749 And considering that her sister, Nancy, is just 3 years younger is quite incredible as well. She's absolutely stunning. I've seen Heart in concert twice and would like to see them at least once more.
Such amazingly talented and beautiful women, just incredible.
Ann Wilson is an amazing singer.
NO F -ING WAY …
If this isn't played at my funeral
I'm not going.
Cliche but legit.
Thanks for the idea
Or Ramble on
😄😄
Jajajajaja
Wow she nailed it 100% and we know the fans are super protective over this song ..
Prachtig
being a rockstar from the 70s just like Led Zeppelin, she would sure nail it!!
Wonderful comment, youre right, dude
This version sounds better
Absolutely perfect
Robert Plant is in tears because this song reminds him of his closest friend, John Bonham...his son Jason Bonham is just awesome on drums...but that choir just nails this tune.. in my opinion, this is greatest cover in history....just beautiful....Ann and Nancy..thank you....
It's the best cover version for want of a better description I've ever heard, even more special with Jason, wonderful, that lady has some voice
And Jason ❤
That is true. Ann Wilson is just amazing and the choir is brutal.
I think he's crying thinking to the time that has run away.
@@giuliamariadambrosio8737 I think so too, but also we can only guess
John looking down on his boy playing the drums
Can you imagine how proud he is after this amazing performance!
Well, to be totally honest, the way John lived his life, he's probably looking up.
and feeling proud
Yes it is
GodofThunder66 nice thought but not so.. John is sleeping and at rest. He see's nothing, knows nothing, hears nothing and feels nothing.
Ecclesiastes 9 he simply rests in peace till the dreaded day of judgment.
If you are a Led Zeppelin fan and this doesn't make you tear up, you have no heart!
i grew up in the streets without a heart
I could not agree more... Anybody know what Plant said to Page???
Cooper Weseli I'm big fan but didn't, and I assure u I love LZ more than my girlfriend.
Cooper Weseli I cried multiple times....
Cooper Weseli ✌✌✌✌
It must take balls of steel to play THAT solo in front of the legend who wrote it. Bravo Shane Fontayne. Absolutely nailed it. And the cheeky wink Jason gave Ann after the crescendo! Goosebumps!
AND, you know what?
ANOTHER GOOSEbump sort of song. THIS was IT!! what another brilliant song.
thank you for your wonderful work on this song. YOU NAILED IT. YOU JUST NAILED IT!!!
He blew it in so many ways... Shame
Damn right, very brave to play in front of Page - but he absolutely smoked it.
Balls are smaller,it needs football ⚽😂😂😂😂
Robert Plant is completely overwhelmed throughout. The way Bonham lifts his eyes briefly to the heavens as Wilson sing the last words....
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
This is music guys.... for real!
GoisBR REALLY not Nikki Minaj, Kanye West and the OTHER bullshit of todays generation that PRETENDS to be REAL music?
GoisBR agree
GoisBR ... Well said!
GoisBR best music ever
GoisBR that is what I tell my mom
Somewhere in Heaven John is telling everyone how proud he is of his son.
Kristy Calger imma go cry now
oh dam..that got me
I felt that one
Somewhere in *Valhalla* ;)
John teller?
Kudos to whoever came up with the arrangement and the idea of adding this choir!
The choir turns it into amazing. Cover versions that sound similar to the original are pointless. This is how you cover a song, you keep the bare bones, but enhance it differently. Loved the bowler hats 😃
@@Nickiepreston we used to have this comedy show in australia, in the 80s and the host was a massive Led Zep fan. Each week he would have a different guest/s performing stairway to heaven. One week it was the Sydney Symphony Philharmonia Choir! It was pretty acapella. It was pretty out there and cool czcams.com/video/MKxpxm1Aus4/video.html
I agree. The choir just hits you right in the feels and is soo overwhelming
The greatest honor is having your music repeated by other artists as a tribute
Plant admitted in interview that upon hearing this version made him reappreciate the song as he had grown so tired of it. He was proud seeing jason. You can see here how close to tears he is. He was johns best mate
I would NOT want to be that guitar player! Imagine the pressure!
I would have jumped at the opportunity.
I hear ya on that.
Gregory Rush no doubt. And he nailed it.
He covered it
Jajajajajjajaajjajajajaa i thought the same jaajjajaja un the parte that the solos stars was the biggest pressure !!!
Honestly I don’t think there has ever been a cover of a song done so perfectly before. And it be universally loved by so many fans of the original shows how incredible it was. Robert Plant looked amazed and Jimmy Page looked almost overwhelmed by it. Pure excellence.
I'm still to this day a huge fan of Limp Bizkit covering Sanitarium in front of Metallica. Much as the band makes me cringe that cover was beautifully executed.
Jimmy Page shaking his head and screaming,Robert Plant crying, well done from the Wilsons and the Band...
I'm not crying, i just have something in both of my eyes...
yeah, tears of joy after seeing this! : )
It's those damn onions.
LowFrequencyMK must be those onion-chopping ninjas, because they're here, too.
LowFrequencyMK....dude was cuttin onions in your house during this vid too? I'm gonna catch that bastard one day, tired of my eyes waterin every time I watch this clip....
LowFrequencyMK careful, he might be an onion-chopping ninja.
@ 1:10: A little boy has mustered all his courage and snuck onto his Dad's drum set because he wants to show him what he can do.
@5:40: Did you hear me, Daddy ?
Beautiful.
and said "daddy did I do good?"
Lavaman3682
Lavaman3682 You're making me tear up, man.
It puts my heart in my throat, Music is a powerfull tool
I LOVE THIS!
There are not too many musicians who get Led Zeppelin's full attention like Ann & Nancy Wilson. Legends all.
The lead guitarist certainly seemed to have Page's attention.
Ann wilson is the perfect choice to cover this song.
chills when the choir showed up
James Evans Same here!!
Fabulous every bit as good as the original
James Evans Yes , that's true , it sounds CELESTIAL.
THE 'EPIC' PIPES OF ANN WILSON!!!!! A VOICE FROM THE GODS!!!!!!!!
I have been a fan of Heart ever since I was a younger man. I remember the first time I heard the album Dreamboat Annie. I've been hooked on them since.
right? like she has not lost any of her vocal ability. still sings beautifully.
Classic Rock very ironic to the name of the song
this is no song for woman!!!adisgree!!!shame.woman are equal but not the same!!!thats a big difference, think about that......
@@josbuysman5342 I think that was a lot of verbal diarrhoea. To say something is equal to but not the same as proves that.
Imagine you play this song in front of Led Zeppelin! And get standing Ovationen!!!❤️✔️
Try not to cry
try not to cry
try not to cry
try not cry
....... cry a lot 😥❤️
Who's got that petition that only Ann, Nancy (& Heart) are the only ones allowed to cover LedZep from now on?
And Linda Perry does a mean Whole Lotta Love
because they are doing better
This is one of the greatest spectacular performances of all time. It must be something not only to be honoured for your work as musicians but to see your work done in spectacular fashion. I actually like this version more than the original.
Been a Zeppelin fan since1974 but this is the go to version. String section, brass/woodwind section, gospel choir and Anne and Nancy (probably the biggest Zep fans of all time) and Jason on the drums!!!! To die for!
I totally agree!
no
Agree
L C.C....I too like this version much better than the original...it's the horns and choir that does it for me, plus her vocals are incredible....
due to Ann´s rock background... I believe only she could sing this.... marvelous....unbelievable....
Robert Plant thinking about his best friend John Bonham while Bonham's son Jason plays the drums. Wow. Emotional. Heart performs an incredible tribute version. Way to to Anne and Nancy. Love. Love. Love.
It must be wild to be able to read what people are thinking by watching a video.
Yes. Those are my comments and I am DAMN proud of them.
I'd bet he was thinking about Karac first and Bonzo second.
I was thinking the same thing, one of the best things about this is that Jason is playing the drums!
Bonham was more friend of JPJ.!
Let it out Robert, its okay to cry
Major shoutout to the guitarist, playing the solo of one of the most prolific songs of all time for Jimmy Page and the other gents from Zeppelin, not to mention Jason Bonham playing with him on the kit... Probably one of the most spiritual moments of that guy's life
I saw Led Zeppelin do this in Sydney Australia back in the day, this performance is as memorable as that.......
Sheldon Cooper's guitar solo 😱
Suraj Kenpachi I was thinking the same! looks an awful lot like him
shouldn't have been improvised, if you are paying tribute it should've been as it was written.
Suraj Kenpachi man I was thinking the same thing..lmfao!!
Suraj Kenpachi that guy looks more like Stewart
Suraj Kenpachi jimmy page looking like a proud father when he hears it
they broke his heart and made him cry tears of joy and all those rock n roll memories
Sam Misner my eyes are wet
I'm bawling my eyes out right now. For me Zeppelin were the dream. I've seen them play and nothing was like it before or since. Today's metal fans often have NO idea how POWERFUL Zeppelin were. Favorites, Four sticks, When the Levy Breaks, Kashmir, Achilles last stand, Immigrant Song, In my time of dying, the whole first side of Led Zep II. They were it, Hippie metal. The US kids got Zeppelin the best, Just a step on from the earlier heavy acid bands like the Revolver to White Album era Beatles, the Doors and Jimi Hendrix. The 70's in Europe was vile from the glitter Rock start while the US still had their latter hippie era to go. All the Stoners loved Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath ('War Pigs' is a classic anti Vietnam War song btw!) Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Neil Young!
This is exactly why Ann and Nancy Wilson are legends in their own right. Fantastic 🙏❣️
Goddesses playing the song of the Gods.
That guy on the guitar.....to play like that in front of Jimmy.....you have a balls of steel.....I would shit myself
Shane Fontayne
This has got everything: Bruce Dern on horns, son of the drummer shredding, and the guy from Big Bang Theory on Lead Guitar..
statman7 it's like a club that Stephan on SNL would describe
oh shit that's funny 😂 staaalp it lol
My God... I'm speachless. After that video, to speak something is a sin.
Listening to Zeppelin always takes me somewhere else... It's like time travelling.
5:04 that's the face of a man who knows that he has changed the world in a positive manner and his legacy. Such a beautiful thing to see.
Beckoning Oblivion damn dude it puts tears in my eye
Perfect conclusion!!!
Very well said, that scene always give me chills
😍
Two years ago I was an administrator at an assisted living home that specializes in care for victims of Alzheimer's Disease. I had a resident who, although he was only in his late 50s, was suffering from the effects of the disease and was for the most part non-verbal. I found the Heart rendition of Stairway to Heaven entirely by accident and showed him a brief bit of the concert on my computer. His face immediately changed to a slight smile so I arranged to display it on a large screen TV where he could get the full concert experience. He and I would sit and watch it over and over. I left there about a year ago but am still in touch with the facility. My friend lost his battle with Alzeheimer's a couple of months ago. Watching it now brings a tear to my eye for the beauty of the concert and the memory of my resident's reaction to a moment from his past.
ditto.. beautiful story.. imagine what the world would be like if more were so compassionate.. you're blessed Rich
What you did for this man can't be measured, You likely made his exit from this earth sa good as it could be for him by stirring up those old memories.
you are a good man Richard. God Bless
Legend playing tribute to fellow legends..
Perfection knows no boundaries. She is still a powerhouse so many years later. Absolutely brilliant cover of an absolute classic, perhaps even THE classic of all time.
God i love Robert Plant . He is still a baby boy
Michael Adams they're all aging rather well.
02:38 is when you know somethings extraordinary is about to happen here. 04:15 is when you realize you're witnessing a world-class tribute to one of the few classic rock bands worthy of such homage.
How the f%#k can there be 4.3k thumbs down? Who are these people? Can they not see the joy on the faces of John, Robert and Jimmy? They bloody loved it and tracked down Ann and Nancy Wilson after that performance and told them.
i know right? There are the times when CZcams SHOULD step in!!!
Oh man I’ve just had the pleasure of watching this for the first time. I can say that, none of the thumbs down matters - they don’t factor in to what I just watched. This was electric
The drummers dad played the drums in the original song but sadly the original drummer died. His dad is smiling down in heaven.😇
Robert Plant's eyes, enough said.
Who else teared up? HAHA! beautifully done :)
Nicole Garza me, for one.
ME! Again...(damn)
Nicole Garza i
Every time!
Damn right I did
If this song were ever to be destined to be sung by an inspirational female , this version would be it. For Eternity. For sure.
Sublime.
Perfect Tribute to the Gods.
Now, I'm conducting this little experiment, I want to see how many times I manage to watch this without tearing up, it shouldn't be a problem, I'm turning 60 this year, I've been around the block, I'm rugged, I'm jaded....Nope, can't do it. Next time perhaps....
No question, the greatest rock band of all time.
yeah Heart is pretty great
DarkSouljah gonna have to disagree😬
Hunter Shep By all means.
yep, especially in today's age of Digitized Muxic
DarkSouljah rock band yes but Zeppelin are not the Beatles
05:42 Right in the feels.
tlopesgsd Oh God. I teared up.
Música que chega ao fundo de nosso âmago. ESPETACULAR, FANTÁSTICO.
“Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run there’s still time to change the road you’re on.”
― Stairway to Heaven, Led Zeppelin
Since 1982 I already big fan of Zeppelin, now I'm 53 still love this band...
my word! Ann!!! you still got those pipes. long live heart!! Goodjob
can you believe that she's well over 60+
Ikr? She still has it. She sounded great on Barracuda, too.
Yup!!! I saw Heart (And and Nancy) a year ago. And, just last night, at the Puyallup Fair, the 4 year old version called Heart to Heart--with founding Heart members Steve Fossen and Michael DeRosier (guitar and drums) with two new females who ably represent And and Nancy, and the legendary Seattle guitar man Randy Hansen, who also is famous for his Jimmy Hendrix cover work. Followed Heart since their first album Dreamboat Annie! They rock!!
Nurlinda F Sihotang I
I remember them from my college days in the late 70's. Their material still stands the test of time.
Gets me in the feels every time I watch this. The tears in Robert Plant's eyes speak volumes.
It makes me cry! This is so awesome!
5:02 my heart is blown away by Nancy’ divine voice
There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to Heaven
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Oh oh oh oh and she's buying a stairway to Heaven
There's a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook
There's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiving
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, it makes me wonder
There's a feeling I get
When I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen
Rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who standing looking
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, it really makes me wonder
And it's whispered that soon, If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on
And it makes me wonder
Your head is humming and it won't go
In case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying a stairway to Heaven
It just doesn't get any better or emotional than this.
The quick glimpses of the audience's reactions are priceless. Including Michelle and Barack Obama.
I knew there was a reason I voted him into office for both terms. Barry knows how to rock!
Jason looking up to his dad at the end...gets me in the feels every time. Jason paying homage to his dad who was my source of inspiration to want to be a drummer. Bonzo is God!
I had to LOL @ Michelle O. I doubt she gave 2 Sh_ts about this song. It was cool that the were there though.
Ok...
I have watched this so many times over the last 6 years and I still get goosebumps and teary eyed at how amazing of a performance this is. What a beautiful and masterful rendition.
me to.
Same here ❤
My God that was absolutely the best ever!
One of the few times the words "Best ever" has been used 100% correctly.
Has to be one of the greatest tributes ... ever. I get goosebumps when the choir comes in and the tempo picks up. In-effing-credible!!!
I can't think of another band that would make LED ZEPPELIN themselves tear up to this song.... WELL DONE
Sorry but this isnt music, this is fuc*ing MAGIC
You know that you're the greatest rock band ever when you're a 4 man band, and it takes a hundred singers and musicians to replicate your most famous song.
That’s what I was thinking when I was watching it! 😂😂
WOW Love it! What's wrong with the 4.2k people who don't like this?
I've seen this video dozens of times and every time I get emotional. What a sensational presentation!
Me too!!!!
watched this 400x. Have turned this on to my family and friends.awsome performance.
i do
same here
Great rendition of the original Stairway to Heaven... I think with Bohams son Jason playing drums Robert Plant and Jimmy Page might have been thinking about John and the old times they had together... The both had tears in their eyes...
Simball Geocaching Vlog UK
GREAT JOB GIRLS
4:04 I have this guy's reaction during the whole video! By far the best cover of Stairway, get goosebumps everytime.
That's famous cellist Yo Yo Ma.
The first time I listened to this song was when I was in my 7th Std. This still moves me, tears me apart. Led Zep is Truly A Legendary Band.
What a tribute!! They are obviously huge fans to put in this much work. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant enjoying a bit of immortality. A must learn for every guitar player.
That's how Ann and Nancy got into rock and roll, they were the biggest Zeppelin fans from day one. Their cover of Battle of the Evermore is another cover unequaled
Absolutely! They were incredibly nervous (especially Nancy) before performing this. Zeppelin means so much to them they didn't want to screw up. No need to worry ladies, you were beyond fantastic, and put tears in Roberts eyes. Job more than well done! Will never understand people down voting this!
Why does everyone overlook John Paul?
The drummer in this performance is Jason Bonham...John Bonham's son. Hence the drummer's teary eyes
at the old age of 66, every TIME I see that guitar player fall in I get goose bumps! DAMN he's a FINE THING!!!!
Shane Fontayne
born Mick Barakan
Can you imagine playing the lead guitar part of one of the greatest rock songs ever with the original guitarist watching? That someone being one that Rolling Stone Magazine ranks as number 3 of the 100 greatest guitarists ever!
Shane Fontayne....he's a hell of a guitar player!
As tributes go this is number 1.Ann, Nancy, Jason and all concerned delivered the greatest Thank You to the greatest band in the world. Total class.
62 and with a serious Cold yet absolutely Melted it
The best cover of this song EVER! Ann's voice is so strong and perfect for this song. What can I say about Nancy...she is a rockstar on the guitar! No wonder Led Zeppelin was in tears. No one could have done this like Ann and Nancy Wilson.
Wow did you actually listen to her rendition before commenting ?? yes it was done well but with half the strength and enthusiasm of Led Zeppelin !
You are wrong @swtctysue . Your lack of thumbs up on your comment proves it
6 minutes of pure goodness.
IQuitWow1 6 minutes of pure rock.
Watch the full version :)
I'm blown away... I have no words! I am in heaven ! What a version of one of the best songs in music history!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I watched this Fantastic work few years ago. Nowadays I watched the New Zealand colledge with Stairway to Heaven. There were 18 years old teenagers approx. 100 members of orchestra. Their concert was Great Great Great. There are followers……that is nice. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
This will go down as a remarkable piece of Rock History
Carol Vautour i
heart kills it with stairway, sooo damn good
Regardez comme ils sont tous beaux... Grande prestation et quelle belle communion... Un orgasme à l'état pur!
I'm watching in 2022 and I think Ann made this song more beautiful . I wish I had been there. Awesome.
wow. fucking wow.
indeed
The exact three words I said after watching this
That's putting it mildly brah
Only Ann could do this. Amazing.
4k dislikes?? How?? Goosebumps throughout!! Amazing song, amazing performance.
Probably sum of people who don't like orchestral performances and people who hate to know that the original track has some satanic verses in reverse.
The music arranger is an absolute genius.
Robert Plant was touched by this performamce, you can see the emotion pouring out of him.
He was thinking in Bonzo and Karac, I guess.
I doubt if there is any other singer that can bring the great Robert Plant to tears besides the great Ann Wilson. isn't it someting that as young girls, the Wilson sisters would go to Led Zepplin concerts and were moved by them. Then years later, the Wilson sisters perform a Led Zepplin classic in front of them, and the members of Zep were so moved by them..
Yes, he was holding back his tears. I cry every time I watch this ..
He was crying because it was a surprise Jason was on drums
Never gotten goosebumps to such an extent before
SOOP CHILLS.
I cannot stop watching this. This performance alone deserves an honor. Ann Wilson is the Queen.
There's two kind of people, who cried and the liars.
Alessio Scanu Apparently three kinds. The tone deaf nutjobs who disliked this video are the third kind.
I will only give this 16 out of 10.
Igor Flexus 100
Only 16 out of 10?
Igoir- one of the best comments ever. hell yeah
I'd give this 69 outa 10.😉😉😉
Those who commented prior must not be real Zep Fans, albeit a nice tribute, Ann forgot an entire set of lyrics. A poignant pivotal set of lyrics, that truly is the denouement of the song, setting up the crescendo---"If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on"
I'm not even a Led Zeppelin fan and this makes me cry. It was just inexplicably recommended to me by the magical CZcams algorithm but this is now saved in my favourites and I watch it and get goose bumps every time.
I wish I was already born then to have seen these greats in their prime. However, I'm just glad that I'm able to see these great videos on CZcams. We are still lucky.
This is perfection..
Absolutely. Perfection in every sense of the word.
A deservedly noble tribute to a classic.
Not a dry eye in the house by the time of that glorious and magnificent ending.
If anyone can hit Robert Plant's vocal range, it's Ann Wilson!
Awesome!! Ann and Nancy Wilson's performance is sublime.
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant both tear'd-up... Both are ROCK GODS.
When an orchestra & choir are assisting in singing one of your own songs to you, that's the moment when you truly know that you are pretty hot shit.
RobertDeville It was literally everything.
