It has gone with turnbased, real-time army fights, an online implementation, as well as the second turn based form that is seen in Empires. I like that Koei keeps presenting it in slightly different ways, experimenting with different structures and character availability. If they are able to continue making a profit and keep a fanbase, then all the more power to them.

@CrimsonVer11 Well the series is a big hit in Japan, why stop when you're got a big fan base? Koei have expanded the timeline this time round though (a step forward), now it goes past Wuzhang and to the founding Jin Dynasty. All new modes, more characters, secondary weapons. It's a step forward, some freshness. It's much the same as it has been, but still button-mashingly fun despite it all.

Because the Japanese version is always one number different from the rest of the world. Someone told me that´s because Japan didn´t consider the first one as Dynasty Warriors. So the second one is the first DW for Japan and so on.

DW6 was a different fighting system, which sucked now DW7 has switched back, and improved upon the old formula with lots of new characters as well as returning ones, new modes, online multiplayer. It's more than a change than MW2 > Black Ops, or Halo 2 > Halo 3. It works, people don't like change when it actually happens.
Im sorry but im a dynasty warriors freak. Ive basically got the whole collection, i know the relationships with characters and whose friends and stuff like that. Im so nerdy lol
Who's the guy on horse at 0:36? Dian Wei's weapon but the head wear is like Xu Huang in DW5... Liu Bei's still a young guy, look even younger than Zhao Yun. Zhao Yun's still the poster boy, i'm bored with that. The last scene is EPIC!
somehow i still prefer the opening for DW5... but still FANTASTIC game :D i hope its out on english version soon... its hard to play while translating everything the character saying *_*
koei and omega need to make some new stuff. dynasty warriors has got the same story line throghout the series, and to be honest theres only so many times you can remodel the characters before it just get boring. warriors Orochi was great! they mixed dynasty and samurai warriors and added loads of new characters too! they need to start doing more things like this!!! and an open world dynasty warriors would be unreal!!!!!!!! elder scrolls style questing! and more realism!
@Africanneji92 I know what you mean, but if people still buy and support it why change? Look a the Call of Duty games, all of them are just the same yet they still rake in millions, same applies to this series.
