We loved our visit. We hired a driver for the day to provide transportation and act as our guide. He was a great kid. He even invited us to his home where we met his family. We enjoyed pleasant conversation and had coffee and papaya on their porch. Wonderful people. I was so impressed and appreciative of their genuine hospitality that I tipped the kid twice what he charged me for the transportation and "tour" he gave us. I will be back.

Love!!!! Candy corn girl!!! This is Dominican Republic!! They have their smaller version of the rio Jesus! So gorgeous though! That was probably my favorite day all year! Pompeii….. that will be in August!!! Aahhhh thank you!!! ❤️

I have watched many series about the digs there, the city that was destroyed ( like Soddom & Ghomorra) and daily things pop up on Google about all the beautiful artifacts they are uncovering as we speak. If you get chance see the soldier painted on beautiful frescoes, beautiful man, how lucky you are!!! It was recently uncovered
We are doing this excursion week after next. Two questions: First, can you walk around alone at the top of the mountain, or do you stay together as a group? Second, once you get into the historic district can you stay and walk back to the ship, or do you have to go back with the tour group?
At the mountain top we did get a small amount of time (half hour maybe) for ourselves. I would think if you have time you can stay in the historic district and go back later. This day we didn’t have much time after the excursion. We have done many other excursions that if there was time we could stay behind on our own afterwards. Have lots of fun!! We really loved the tour guide and excursion!! Thanks for watching!

If your physically able to carry the baby for the garden walk part it would be fine…. No way can a stroller be used down the stairs. If I still had babies I would be ok with them on this! This was probably one of the best days we had on an excursion!!

That was part of the tour!!! It was in the city….. not in port. We had no time after this excursion to do anything else…but it was a fantastic day!!

Very close! Not walking distance but it was very close to the post. When we go back in January we already know this is the beach we want to go to!!

How much was this tour?
It was about $85 for each person. We really enjoyed the excursion. Prices can vary before the cruise/ after getting onboard.
