Nice plant presents! I managed to snag one of those eucs as well. I like native plants, but I would have said, “yeah you’re not native either, buddy… so…”
Now that's an awesome birthday/Christmas gift! I personally think it's ignorant when people make comments like you should kill a residential Non Invasive garden plant! It's a different story if you were going to plant a non native that's going to reproduce everywhere in your local wild habitat, but that's probably not going to be the case with a Eucalyptus! But I guess everyone gets to be autonomous in their opinion unless it adversely affects others or society as a whole!
I have also encountered people online that seem a bit radicalized about non-natives. IRL I never really meet people like that. I guess we all have opinions. As time goes on and we face more radical weather and climatic swings I personally feel it is important to have highly adaptable and tough trees. For me if that means a non-native here and there then so it is. Is E. neglecta the hardiest? Or would E. pauciflora be hardier?
Wilson brothers lists pauciflora and another one that starts with a letter R. I've never tried any, but I'm in SE Ohio and would want to select the best choice for me.@@cincytropics

Agreed! Eucalyptus lacrimens is the hardiest but super hard to find and highly sensitive to summer heat and humidity
