It is a little torturous to have been used as an instrument to predict the future, and confirm it, but she is technically an unsung hero in the foundation's containment
That would be so stressful you'd literally be the date of the world.
It’s an unfortunate reality of being a living Thaumiel. To valuable to let go, but to fragile to utilize fully.
However her fate outside the foundation isn't any better, in fact she might not last at all. So really this is the best place for her, besides some perfect god realm of ultimate bliss.

The only real question that is hard to answer with this SCP is if she is really seeing the future as it is, or if she's a reality bender and creating timelines off of what she sees

Bro, dont confuse people, she sees the future state/condition/form you are taking in the future, not the event that takes place, when she looked at the doors of the cells holding many of the more dangerous SCPs she did admittedly see the associated SCP causing said damage to the door, but not the rest, when she sees D-class personel, she doesnt see *how* they die, just the state they are in when dead, she didnt see the Doctor being filed for a divorce, she looked at her closely... and noticed she didnt have her ring on.
If she were to look at SCP-999 she may probably see at best an evolved/dead/wounded version of it.

I mean not everyone accepts 999 as SK’s kiddo, there being no cannon and all. Personally I see the ‘evil destroyed by power of love’ to be cringey and overdone, and if 999 is the last child it makes operation Montag useless and it’s one of the best horror concepts I’ve seen
@@emilybarclay8831 Don't you understand? Operation Montag is why 999 exists to begin with. Through hate the doctor corrupted what would have been another monster into the only thing that could challenge the King of hate, a future king of love. Its pretty obvious that 999's victory isn't even a fight but rather its anomalous aura making everyone happy and robbing the Scarlet King of his power. He is after all fueled by everything that would disappear if 999 could affects everyone at once. Robbed of his power he may even completely disappear but at the very least he won't be the powerhouse he is currently and 999 could probably just make him happy too and defeat him.
The Scarlett King isn't just evil, he's got very specific power sources you can theoretically deny him. So either you fight him with greater hate and violence, cold indifference or love.

Sorta. 999 will defeat at least one XK Class end of the world scenario. 187 has the potential to stop several.
Her interaction with scp 003 is interesting in that it firthers the concept behind in that humans are a form of anomalous machines just of different components than other things. Also considering the fear the researcher who worked with 003 had about what it might do once it became a full fledged person this is pretty comforting.
Sadly, the visions of present and future aren't confined to seperate eyes. If they were, she'd get easily by with her ability from wearing an eye patch.
She could probably still turn off her power with video goggles or something. I mean if she's constantly looking at a recording of what's in front of her then her power would only activate if something was about to happen to the goggles.

It's surprising that the Foundation hasn't placed protective goggles over 187's eyes (that only they can remove & control) instead of using basic mittens. One can still hurt one's eyes by clutching an object between two mittens. She is compelling. I want to know more.

Couldn't she effectively turn off her powers with a pair of vr goggles. When they're on she'd be seeing a recording of what's in front of her but her power would only activate if something were about to happen to the screen itself. Then she can take them off if she needs to use her power. Seems like an easy solution.

@@princevegeta9763 If she can look at a recording on a computer without seeing it as rusted and broken then she can probably use a VR headset.
She could maybe have a pair of goggles with camera's installed that play everything to her with a few milliseconds of delay or a filter so that she can essentially look at everything in near real time without her anomaly triggering because it's a digital image.
Granted this may still fail sometimes if she sees the goggles image as a black screen due to it running out of battery or breaking in the future.
This may also be a way for her to communicate to staff members via a webcame on a laptop to cause less distress than in person interviews.

I'm surprised that there isn't a TV series about the SCP stories. There are a tone of them on their website some are really well written.

No it can't. Whatever visions she has are absolute. You even said so earlier in the video: "They come true without fail." As with the example at the beginning of the video, all she saw was that the SCP in question broke down the door to its own containment cell. That still happened, but any greater-scale breach was prevented due to the foresight. So, SCP-003 will inevitably become a woman. SCP-015 will inevitably breach its containment and grow unhindered. Whatever she saw with SCP-173 was so traumatic that she fainted and her brain had to censor it from her memory, but it's still guaranteed to come to pass.
Okay I know this coment is a year old but what if she saw 173 in the future when no one is looking at it and it causes a paradox or something.

Even though she can see the future, not specifically knowing the future, she can *see* it, that means she'll have to get a pretty close distant to things into order to see the future, It's dangerous, she's still a human, seeing the future doesn't mean guaranteed success either.
The futures she sees can indeed be changed, hence the foundation's worry that she can cause time paradoxes.

The camera/goggles themselves wouldn’t physically change, so they could allow her to wear them when interacting with food. She could finally see food normally, which might be a very good way to encourage assistance with the foundation.

I think there's actually an SCP like that. Some sort of computer program that copies all of their data and posts it online, and any changes to the files have to be small or the program fixes it. They can't contain it so they just ostracize people that believe in the SCP to protect the public.

- a.) *NOT an Oracle ~* SCP-187 does not, and cannot, make far-ranging predictions/prophecies like an Oracle, Seer, &/or Fortune Teller. 187's 'double visions' are solely limited to the short-term future(s), a couple of days at best/most; so SCP-187 is more correctly labeled as a "Pre-Cog" (precognitive).
- b.) *"What", not **_"How?"_** ~* SCP-187 can only see and relate the end-result ("What") she sees through her 'double vision', not the "Who", "How", "When", "Where", "Why", or any other factors.

i remember hearing a potential tale about it , basically its a world / timeline in which 173 manages to duplicate itself... never endingly over time. as if that wasnt bad enough , the more there are in close proximity the smarter it becomes (like able to strategize.... a group of a few 100 actually managed to kill the damn lizard after getting there). Sure nukes would destroy it but the armies would quickly relize "we can hide underground... or hell the bottom of the ocean"
