- SCP-178 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as 3-D Specs.
SCP-178 is a pair of white stereoscopic 3D glasses with a rectangular white cardboard frame and lenses of transparent blue and red plastic. When SCP 178 is worn, the wearer begins perceiving large bipedal entities. Any attempt by the wearer of SCP178 or any other personnel to directly interact with the entities results in severe lacerations suddenly appearing on persons involved.

Someone else hypothesized that the people killed by the creatures while wearing the glasses become them after they die, hence why the test subjects kept seeing more and more with each experiment. The fact that there could be many more entities out there gives off the unsettling idea that there are MORE anomalous 3D glasses, still claiming victims.

I would propose an experiment where the subject is informed of the creatures prior to putting on the glasses. They would be instructed to remain calm upon viewing them, and retain their composure until the entity(s) lost interest and looked away. At that time, the D class would be instructed to verbally address a creature calmy, politely, simply, and without insult such as "weird thing". Keep it totally cordial and formal; completely non combative. The purpose would be to see if any interaction, even if it has to be extremely minimalistic, could provoke a non violent response.
Perhaps cross testing with the Tickle Monster might yield favorable results.

I remember reading about a test where they had a room divided in half with bulletproof glass, and put a D class with the glasses on one side. He said that there were four of the monsters on the other side, and none on his side. When he tried to talk to them, they broke the glass.

honestly, this just feels like some weird evolution that happened due to some sketchy physics.
what is the best way of keeping your species safe when you are borderline invisible? executing all that can see you so that none may evolve in a ways that makes them capable of seeing you and so that history of any type of animal forgets about your existence. that way you are safe from any and all danger.
regardless, their evolution made them the biggest enemy of humanity, who have developed logical thinking and are attempting to understand everything.

A popular twist going around is that the monsters aren’t self-aware. The monsters think everyone looks “normal”, but as soon as someone puts on the specs, they look like a “monster” from their perspective. Normal humans are perceived as beasts, and it causes these entities to freak out and attack. Just like how we freak out at their appearance. It’s a never ending cycle.

Here’s what I’ve been noticing with SCP stories

They should test another, non-anomolous, pair of glasses at the same time to see if they are actually connected to this scp or if they are everywhere.

So yeah, definitely the scary part of this one is the implication or realization that they're pretty much everywhere. Around the whole world. And the only reason that they haven't wiped out humanity is that we can't see them.
