  • Watch how I turn an IBC tote into a luxury ice water bath. The only materials that I bought were: IBC tote (FaceBook Marketplace - $50), Screws ($12), 2 - treated 2x6x10's ($25). The side panels are made out of rough cut hemlock from my sawmill. Just add water and ICE! Enjoy!

Looks great. But why didn’t you insulate it before putting on the siding?

Love your projects. I just picked one up for $70 Canadian on FB Marketplace and plan to build my cladding from old fence boards and pressure treated 2x4 beams to really keep the cost down.. The guy who sold it to me was using it for the last 5 years to collect rainwater from his gutter to feed his vegitable garden. When I got home, I noticed a very faint sticker on the side denoting that it once contained BASF Gardoclean s 5192. I am wondering if anyone out there knows IF after 5 years of containing water and a very good cleaning / bleaching by me, would this be dangerous to use as an Ice Bath. Or am I pretty much in the clear by now?

Also, I saw another version similar to your own where the guy used a 2x4" Underlip to hide the plastic edges from view inside. So I will try that too.

Thank you so much, you’re so kind! I think a good cleaning will be fine. You’re not drinking from it! I add liquid pool chlorine every time I fill! Please subscribe and keep watching!

What kind and size of wood did you use for the first layer around the outside?

@offthetrailsoutdoors1169 yes giving it some serious thought.. I like the look of yours I'm gonna hook up a chiller and a filtration system to it.. what were the wide boards on the outside of the 2x4s.
