To turn the traction Control off you have to go to vehicle, Swipe to right, tap on brakes and there you have 3 Settings Traction control on, traction control on sport and traction Control off.

Quite ridiculous, going to a track and not knowing how to turn tc off. When I got my Golf 7R, it was the first thing I checked.

I’m amazed how someone can buy a high performance car and not know how to turn off the traction control. How about learning the car’s features before you take it out on a track and destroying the brakes courtesy of the traction control applying the brakes.

To turn traction control off go on vehicle, swipe to ‘breaks’ and turn traction off. You can also swipe down on the main screen and add a button to save time

You can add it to your shortcuts so it’s as quick as Mk7 👍

Finally Racing driver on a track!
If these brakes are on fire after 2 short laps, VW must have secretly used aftermarket big brake kit while testing the Nürburgring mode on Mk8 Golf R.
They would have had the performance package, but also much much longer straights means better cooling of the brakes
Also having traction control on the entire time means it was using XDS. It was constantly applying brakes to the front to limit all the slip it was sensing.
All in all that alone makes this video way, way worse than it should have been.

Are the errors cleared? Assume the brakes overheating and sensor errors were because the TC was on and the car was getting skelped even though the TC was trying to save itself!

Traction control is in Vehicle Menu on the infotainment system; Vehicle > Exterior > swipe right > Brakes then turn ESC off 👍🏻👍🏻

It's not a physical button on the mk8 ... you have to go into a sub menu on the infotainment

Traction control is a bit buried tbh but you can create a shortcut. Check out CZcams vid by Volkswizard on his Mk8 Clubsport- he explains how to do it
