    Love your resin technique. I also leave my baked clay on my tiles to resin. I also use a commercial two sided tape to hold pieces in place. This reminds me of Faux giraffe fur. Thanks for sharing your talent.

    Does coating polymer clay with resin necessary for jewelry making ,can we skip this step

    • @happyhands-uk
      @happyhands-uk  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you can skip this step. You can sand and buff for a nice finish or just leave it matt. Its a personal preference. I like the shine it gives but also as I mostly make my pieces quite thin, using resin makes them stronger. I realise that not everyone likes to use resin. If I make a nice chunky piece, I would sand and buff to get that nice shine. Its just a lot more work, which when you're making lots and lots can be quite time consuming. But yes, it's totally your choice 👍😉

    Do u resin the sides?

  • @mimikhan9546
    @mimikhan9546 Před 3 měsíci

    Hi. Just to warn u, that the uv lamp is bad for your eyes.
    Use dark sun glasses to protect your eye.

    How do you finish off the edges to get the shine thanks

    • @happyhands-uk
      @happyhands-uk  Před rokem

      On very thin pieces like these ones, I just resin the front and back and I don't do anything with the side. If I was to make a piece that is much thicker, I wouldn't use resin, but I would sand to a very fine grit on all faces and sides and then finish with my buffing wheel to create a lovely shine. I know its been a while since I made a video but I will make one soon to explain this better. 😉

    Does the front get funny when you put in uv oven when doing back?

    • @happyhands-uk
      @happyhands-uk  Před 6 měsíci

      Hiya, no the front won't be affected when flipping to do the back side, as long as the front is fully cured and there is no spillage. 😃👍

    Be careful with the resin is very toxic, but it is odorless... We think is inofensive, but it is not. Take care

      Thank you Mona. I know it can be an irritant for the skin. Thankfully, it doesn't affect me. But I am careful not to touch it until its cured and I always wash my hands afterwards. It's better to wear gloves to be on the safe side but I've never had a reaction so I just try to minimalise the skin contact as much as possible 😁
