- Top video: Michelin Pilot Sport 3 205/45/16 (with 10-15.000 km on the road + 7-8 track events), time: 2:18.0
Bottom video: Nankang NS-2R 195/50/16 (~500-700 km on the road and the first track event), time: 2:18.6
Track: Circuit Zandvoort
Car: Suzuki Swift Sport 2008, Bilstein B14, -1.5 front camber
First video shot on 25/03/2024, second on 26/04/2024, track condition and weather nearly identical. NS-2R turned out to be about 0.6 seconds slower.

Exactly the comparison I wanted to find. Very interesting, used PS3 better than new NS-2R. PS3 is expensive but better peak performance, and probably an even bigger difference from cold temp and in the wet.
Have also heard the NS-2R being quite noisy, did you experience that?
I haven't yet tried NS2R in cold or wet on track yet, though I don't really plan doing that unless the weather forecast fails on me. On the road it feels less grippy in wet, even on the low power Swift (easy to trigger abs or wheel spin even on 2nd gear without clutching). Yes, it's indeed quite noisy, esp. on speeds > 75-80 km/h. It also feels somewhat harsh for road use, like it's overinflated.
Pilot sport slower then ns2-r?
No, pilot sport time is 2:18.0, and ns2-r time is 2:18,6 so ns2-r is slower. Recently I was able to do 2:17.6 on ns-2r, but that was with better brake pads.

My question is... how does a semi slick tyre go slower than an old pilot sport model?
@@bogdanmarin39 well, I don't know. NS2R is an entry level semi-slick though. Maybe AR1 will be much better.
Wrong tire pressure is your problem…semi slick tire slower than a road tire…oh jeez😂
