Look it's a nickname, the Dallas Cowboys are always going to be " America's Team". Green Bay was still called " Titletown" during their 67 to 96 Super Bowl drought, those names are synonymous with the teams and they're never going to change
One of the reasons why the Dallas Cowboys are americas team is because no matter if it's good new bad news or great news the cowboys will always be talked about somewhere some how and someway. So that's how my Cowboys can hold the title of americas team, because all publicity is good publicity.

I wouldn't say the Cowboys are "America's team" more of an "American's team". Here in England non of my friends or people I've talked to that don't follow NFL have more of an idea of teams like the Giants, Seahawks, Eagles, Patriots, Packers and Vikings than they do of the Cowboys. So I wouldn't say that if you go to non football fans they know who the Cowboys are because that in some cases isn't correct.

I'm so tired of this argument. "America's Team" is a title given to the Dallas Cowboys. No different then the "Terrible Towel" or "The Frozen Tundra". austin rollison no they are not. Giants won more superbowls (1 in every decade since the 80's). One of them against the Broncos. Also more Nfl championships. Giants plays for a big market in NYC where they use to play in the old Yankee Stadium.

conveniently forgotten here: Cowboys may not have won Superbowls but have had a majority of seasons where they were part of the mix for about 10 years now and even before that Cowboys became Americana (Raiders are still a key franchise in NFL after years of losing as well).
I'm a Skins fan, I have no reason to support the Cowboys but this is why the Cowboys have such a big fanbase despite not winning in 20 years. They're always a storyline in sports media.
