l was instrumental in inventing this method some 45 years ago. Of course the new materials used are different now but l still make mine out of a moulding resin. I never use water to make the floats sink l use the adjustable brass loading to vary the sinking speed. We used small ones in the early days for roach with maggot and casters. I enlarged the bubble later for carp and my floats outcast the plastic water filled models fly truer and are much smaller . I can cast in excess of 35 metres with a 6g bubble and being light they create less of a disturbance when cast . I fish them exactly the same way as you firing three or four loose offerings per cast . It was a devastating method 45 years ago and still produce great weights today. I'm very proud of my floats and really pleased they are still in use today. They were so effective all those years ago that local fisheries banned the method. thankfully this is no longer the case and are very effective at my local fishery .

Good match.Unlucky with lost fish. Happens to all of us. I personally would have used either 9 or 10ft Feeders matched to .20 main line and .18 trace to12 hook. I would have also tried a pellet waggler since you were getting bites within 20 seconds of casting. I also agree with other comment regarding keeping your rod as close to surface of the water when playing the fish, it tends to confuse them and makes for easier playing of the fish. Well done thought.

Nice if you did a video showing to fish sinker, feeding? How long left before reeling in? Hardly any videos on this Style of fishing!

Hi John, was a live match so not instructional as such but fair point and I'll see what I can do!
Feeding wise 4 or 5 8mm Pellets catapulted to the area and then quickly cast straight over, much like pellet waggler. Sink wise, when it reaches the bottom reel in, go again so probably 20 seconds or so. It's a busy method!!! But once you start catching you'll know when you've missed the target depth and may reel in even sooner.

Well done! It’s good to try something new because you never know until you try. Don’t beat yourself up about what might have been over the ones you lost as I bet the guy who won the section lost one or two also. Your time will come. Trust me on that. 😉👍

Good effort mate. It’s a method you must practice and practice. All about the feeding and the casting and getting into a rhythm Also don’t worry about line and hook. Size 12. 0.22. No messing.

  • @newyoupersonaldevelopment3497

We’re these caught on the drop through the water ie within 30 seconds of casting in or were they on the bottom 👍

Great effort I’ve cut down some Angling Direct dumpy pellet wagglers and ‘overshotted’ them with solder wire to match the sink rate of an 8mm pellet. Looking forward to using them on this weekends match. Im not sure whether to use them fixed on the line as an over shorted pellet waggler, or free running like a semi buoyant bomb. Shouldn’t really be an issue but we have some proper cry babies in our club that will kick off at anything 😂 especially if you catch more than them. Keep the vids coming they are a great inspiration 👍

@@newyoupersonaldevelopment3497 That's an issue in angling in general. Don't be jealous of others developing new methods (as long as they are safe). Learn them and improve on them instead.

Hi Julien, fair comment as I know you know the water well but 1) no pole and 2) would have been impossible to set up a roller anyway and ship back as the box was 4 ft below the bank and platform, just too high. Crazy low levels.
