Hi, really handy tutorial ... but I have exported a video with transparency for a website ... what were the limitations that prevented you from doing that?
Thanks Harjit! Yes, it is possible to export an After Effects comp with a transparent background …the limitations in this case were that the file formats that After Effects spits out aren’t supported by a lot of browsers, or can’t be uploaded to some of the bigger “mainstream” website builders.

How do you do the close up angled shots from the very beginning of the video?
It's just a normal screen recording done with CleanShot, then when I'm editing in Final Cut Pro I use the distort and scale tools along with position keyframes to zoom in, skew and move the clip.
how to create transparency background
what mac youre using? my macbook pro 2019 is really struggling to work with after effects so planning to buy a new one, any suggestions?
I'm on a late 2015 iMac with an Intel i5 processor. Any of the new M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max or M2 MacBook Pro's should be able to handle After Effects easily.
Just one thought that wouldn't it be easy to create shape layer and use it to trakmat the image. It creates the same results.

Sure, you can do a screen recording of the website and place it in the composition instead of a png.

@@JayBaggio I personally use CleanShot X for Mac, but if you're on a Mac you can use QuickTime. I'm not too sure about PC.

Not to mention the scrolling website on the Sqs example appears to have an FAQ accordion, which, of course... you need a plug-in for. Nice seeing how to do this on Ae rather than Ps.

Yes, I do plan to make a video on FAQ accordions. I've made one (an accordion) that I've used in a couple of client sites ...seems only right to share it.

I use an app called CleanShot X. It allows you to do scrolling screen captures.

This looks good but it's hard to hear when you have the music at the same decibels as your voice. Would be helpful if you lowered the music or got rid of it altogether. I know it's only in the beginning of the video but it's the beginning of the video that grabs people's attention. But thanks for making this tut!

Not helpful at all. He doesn't take the time to teach and zoom in on the controls. Just mumbles and breezes through the process.
