He was bros with bucky for like 97 years he deserves a little time for marriage. Plus, who’s to say he didn’t have a bro moment with bucky after endgame finished where they played like, call of duty
@@mangaprofilepicture5820 thank you all these stans pissed he wasn’t shown to have a bro moment with bucky like let the dude have his date he’s been waiting on for 80 years
@@mangaprofilepicture5820 97 years? Wtf? He didn't even know Bucky was alive for most of those 97 years, and the last few were spent on the run while Bucky was in Wakanda.
@@henrytestroete9341 people aren't pissed about the lack of a "bro moment" in endgame, and steve clearly didn't just go back for the date he missed out on- he chose to live the rest of his life with someone he moved on from, and abandoned not only his traumatized best friend in desperate need of support after breaking free from hydra, but the rest of his team who he had led for many years at that point. people saw his decision as out of character and that's totally valid. dismissing their opinion with "bro moment" and "date" is just blatantly ignoring the valid points being brought up about steve's poor characterization.
Remember when Steve’s whole character arc was to leave the past behind but he still had Bucky and he left him to go back to the past for a girl he didn’t even date
That wasn’t his arc, it was that he was forced to leave past behind and he hated it and Bucky was so important to him since he was the only thing from the past Steve still had. And Steve did save Bucky, his mind and him physically and Bucky could have gone back with Steve. Bucky clearly new beforehand Steve wasn’t coming back and they had a conversation about it. So Bucky choosing to stay in current time is his decision and it’s not something that should chain Steve.
And Steve clearly was hang up on Peggy, not just his movie but meeting old Peggy, working in Shield because Peggy started it, the vision in Ultron, Peggy’s funeral and the words Sharon repeated effecting him so emotionally making Steve’s mind about the accords, and he nearly dated Sharon because she reminded him of Peggy. And then he sees in the past she also never let go of him and had picture of him pre-transformation in the 70s.
Sometimes you really love someone even though you didn’t have a relationship with them.
@@sarasamaletdin4574 I know this is already a bit old - and I'm not looking to start anything - but I'd like to respectfully disagree with you. There are multiple articles that list the inconsistencies in Steve's main/romance arcs, and how the ending to his set-up failed spectacularly. We are shown multiple times throughout the MCU phases that Steve, albeit begrudgingly at times and with the aid of allies, has ultimately come to the conclusion that he is a "man out of time" and works instead to provide a better future for others. Examples: "I don't know, family, stability. The guy who wanted all that went in the ice seventy-five years ago. I think someone else came out."//"The world has changed, and none of us can go back. All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best that we can do is to start over." Bucky remained important to Steve for multiple reasons, and downplaying their relationship to simply being relics of their time does a disservice to both of the characters. Bucky was his life-long friend, brother-in-arms, partner-in-crime, source of comfort and safety - and that's not to mention how determined and hopeful he became at the mere sight of him, wanting to save him as he'd failed to before; to the point of war against allies, and an obstinate behavior that even concerns the allies still with him ("Just like that; we're cool?"). In regards to Peggy, we see him work through their lost time, his grief, and ultimately make peace with her death - again, she herself urged him to "start over" - and I think that his relationship with Sharon was a short-lived attempt to feel some sort of normalcy in his escalating life (and we see nothing becomes of it). Steve worked with SHIELD because he trusted Peggy and wanted to preserve her legacy, stating jokingly that "...it's half the reason I stay," which implies he did believe in the work he was putting forth as well. I personally believe the vision was a psychic manifestation of Steve's parting with his past, his discomfort at being two men at once (Cpt. America & Steve), and Peggy was incurred to rub the salt in the wound (or seduce) - especially with the framing of the scene: eerie music, her pleading voice and wide eyes, his stiff posture and watchful stare. I do think he was emotionally affected - Peggy was, after all, the love of his previous life and she was damn unforgettable to boot - but basing all of his actions as centering around Peggy negates the reality of his arcs. That being said, all three of the Captain America movies are predominantly centered around Steve, his own storyline/arcs ("man out of time in modern world"), and his evolving relationship with Bucky (that also serves as a foil). I think that the Russo Bros. - rather than have Cpt. America stagnate and be kept as Chris Evans for the entire MCU - decided to quick-switch their intentions, and wrapped Steve and Peggy in a nice bow to call it a day; because it is clear that if they'd stuck to their original arcs, then Cpt. America likely would've lived out a vigilante life with his partner Bucky "'til the end of the line" and found other ways to help/save people.
@@sacreblam5711 good analysis my dude; yeah I agree as nice as that moment with Peggy was in Endgame, something doesn’t feel right about it, Bucky really got screwed in this whole arc, and not getting the shield at the end I think may have hurt him too, although we’re lead to believe he and Steve talked about it and Bucky was cool with it, Sam isn’t nearly as fleshed out of a character as Bucky is, he’s just coming into his own as the Falcon and being an independent solo hero, Bucky on the other hand is finally free of everything that Hydra did to him, and becoming Cap could be a fresh start for him, a new identity where he could atone for the sins of his past and work to create a better world, plus he was Cap next in the comics, as much as I love Sam, him being Cap has only happend in the past few years, and as great as a symbol of a Black Captain America is, especially with no Chadwick/Black Panther for the time being, maybe he should do his own thing for a bit and become his own man with his own trials and tribulations, rather than taking on the mantle of Cap and all that comes with it, also I’ve only seen the first episode of the new show and I’m positive this’ll all get more sorted out as the series goes on, but I think with Bucky being there from the beginning and his relationship with Steve and all the crap he’s gone through in his life, that he deserves a shot at redemption, he deserves to become something better than what he was, and I think he deserves to be the one to carry on Steve’s legacy; or maybe they can both be Captain America to some extent, or Sam can be the public face and on the Avengers while Bucky does more clandestine/off the books stuff, also also, how do we know Steve won’t somehow come back or regain his youth or become powerful again or lead a new Shield organization, or maybe he’s a Skrull and the real Steve is being held captive somewhere in space or on the moon or Fury’s space station or in some warehouse owned by Sword or something, or maybe the Red Skull cake back and he’s messing everything up for everyone, idk, the main thing is though that Bucky got screwed and he deserves better but also that Sam could be great too but at this point I’m not convinced he’s the right fit, especially after giving up the shield that was bestowed upon him and by extension creating this whole John Walker/MAGA Cap bull shit in the first place
@@sacreblam5711 Cap is a lot more mentally fucked up in the head than what many people think. He's had psychological problems way before he even became Cap. His determination to enlist in the army was also his death wish. He became an orphan at a young age and all he had left of his parents was the morals they taught him, hence his hard headedness to see to his morals to the bitter end, which led him to getting frozen in time. And what does he wake up to 70 years later? A country he no longer recognizes, the organization Howard and Peggy worked their whole lives to develop being infiltrated by the enemy he worked his whole life to eliminate. His best friend and the only remnant of his past gets turned into an assassin. In Steve's eyes, they lost the war. This, along with all the drama that was going on with the Avengers which was supposed to be his second chance, eventually broke Steve by Civil War, to the point he's willing to go against the code he spent his whole life to protect his best friend. The entire arc of Steve is that not all story arcs end in a nice little ribbon, the conventional ending would have had him getting over the past, but his arc is not and was never meant to be conventional. Some men just can't let go of the past no matter how hard they try, and the only way for him to accept it is to finally get the chance to live it.
@@ashebull123 I would like to concur with you as to Steve's psychological mindset pre-serum but I think we share different interpretations, and I'll explain why: in CA:TFA, we do see Steve attempt to enlist - at least - four different times and when confronted by Bucky, states: "There are men laying down their lives; I got no right to do any less than them. That's what you don't understand: this isn't about me." This quote is what encapsulates the experience of both Steve Rogers and Captain America (his legacy): the voluntary and willing execution of the moral and ethical imperatives, even at the cost of one's life; to be conscientious and compassionate above all else; and to do everything with the utmost integrity and steadfastness. I agree that this is likely borne from his parents - his father, a 107th Battalion solder (W.W. I) claimed by mustard gas, and his mother, a nurse in the tuberculosis ward and claimed by that very tuberculosis - and is elevated by the fact that he is their last remaining legacy; but I don't believe all of his actions thereafter stem from an extreme death wish. Rather, much like he stated, this isn't about him - he is simply willing to sacrifice himself should the situation require a loss, for example: jumping on top of the grenade to save other soldiers (CA: TFA), repeatedly going into battle during W.W. II (CA: TFA), and crashing into the ice because the ship needed a manual pilot (CA: TFA). I'm willing to concede that he certainly acted like he had a death wish but again, his actions stemmed from his character rather than an actual death wish. Now, on the other side of that coin - specifically in A: AU - in a conversation with Tony, there is dialogue that alludes to the darker aspect of his character: "That would end the team! Isn't that the mission? Isn't that the "Why We Fight"? So we can end the fight. So we get to go home!"//"Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time." I believe that Steve, as upstanding as he is, is no different than a large portion of soldiers: he is unable to define himself outside of war; he has a wistful and longing urge for a time and place he can no longer return to (W.W. II and 1945); he is suffering from a severe disconnect between Captain America, the soldier and title, and Steve Rogers, orphaned artist and compassionate friend; and above else, like almost all veterans, (1) does not want to retire and (2) cannot reacclimate to society - which is tenfold in his situation, as he has been uprooted and spat out into a completely different era. But, again, we differ in opinion as to how all of this affects him during the events of CA: CW. It is imperative to remember, too, that Steve never did well with authority (butting heads with Col. Philips (CA: TFA)//given his own team, the Howling Commandos (CA: TFA)) and was never pro-government at any point, despite his service. So, when taking everything into account - his character, his arc trajectory, his moral code and guiding principles, his relationships, and his acclimation to his environments - I don't believe that uncovering Hydra and the identity of the Winter Soldier "broke" him; instead, I believe it fueled him, gave him renewed purpose, and set him towards a more true path: Nomad. In becoming Nomad, Steve no longer identified with being Captain America, was more focused on doing work as Steve Rogers, and was invested in doing as much good as he could in his capacity as (1) vigilante and (2) upstanding citizen. He did not - at any point (literally, at any point, except for A: IF & E) - go against his moral code to complete this path as he never took any lives, never disregarded even the lives of his former allies, and ultimately, saved an old friend. As supporting evidence, it is important to also note that he (1) only aimed to disable Tony via his suit's ARC Reactor, and (2) very prominently gave up the shield (CA: CW). Now, considering all of this, his arc was not one of an "unconventional" man that "could not get over his past" - but instead one of a "man out of time" finding his place and becoming someone else. This is further supported by his own statement and that of Peggy: ""I don't know. Family, stability... The guy who wanted all that went in the ice 75 years ago. I think someone else came out."//"The world has changed, and none of us can go back. All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best that we can do is to start over." So, respectfully, the Steve portrayed in the MCU is not the Steve portrayed in A: IF & E and while I understand that "not all story arcs end in a nice little ribbon," they could've done a much better job at exiting Chris Evans (Captain America I) from the MCU in such a fashion that does not betray all the evidence pointing towards a different arc ending.
I'm here because Endgame didn't give this relationship the closure it deserved
I'm truly pissed

Carter and Rogers have been a thing since the beginning. Sorry, but those two being together is a more fitting end with so much of Cap focusing around Peggy.
@@TheSwordSmasher what fucking universe did you come from? He has literally never gone out of his way for Peggy before, and he has proved repeatedly that there is nothing he wouldn't do for Bucky. It would have been the logical end for their story arcs as their story follows the same beat as a love story. From a non shipper POV, the Steve Rogers we all know and love would never abandon his closest friends, especially not with what's just happened. Our Cap would be there for his team to help pull them through this dark time where the have just lost two of their founding members. I am actually starting to doubt that that was even our Cap.
I come from one that tries to listen to what they're trying to say. They always talked about being together, whether that one date he got to go to, or the fact that he carries her picture EVERYWHERE. I just love how in TFA, when Bucky finds out that his best friend doesn't need him for protection and/or getting girls, and that he is a hero to all of America, there is never a point where he is shown to be even a little jealous of Steve. He loved and admired his friend all the same, before and after he got jacked up.
Mark of a "good man". Further evidence of Bucky's worthiness to be Captain America.
They always kept it real with each other. They kept each other grounded and honest. Bucky even teased Steve about Peggy. It's a wonderful friendship!
Not to "um actually" but um actually, there was a scene where he tried to flirt with Peggy and failed epically cause she only had eyes for Steve, and as she left, Bucky said something along the lines of, "It's like I'm invisible, it's like I'm you, it's a horrible dream". Not exactly jealousy but there was a transition period, it wasn't seamless, and I mean. He tried to pick up the first girl to ever show interest in Steve right in front of him, as Steve was obviously reciprocating said interest, so he was probably a little jealous of the attention Steve was receiving because of the serum but that's the extent of it. Either that or bi confusion and slight possessiveness and he wanted her hands off his man and was confused when distraction didn't work. With his story so blended with Arnie Roth, I wouldn't count it out.
@@applechip6748 I thought it was more like he was trying to remind Steve to talk Bc Steve was just standing there gawking at her in that red dress.
@@applechip6748 It was a transition from Bucky being first choice of the ladies compared to Steve before, and being last choice in her eyes with Steve now. Some people accept Captain America's ending but not us.
Not us.
I'm really hoping that the multiverse gives us something. Like, please Marvel? You made Stony happen in a comic AU where Stark was a woman. Why can't we have something like that in the MCU for Stucky?

I think it's cause the Cold War seriously changed our culture. Seriously, there is a really big rift between the 40s - 50s and the 60s - 70s.
Yeah, the Cold War changed the attitude of the American people. We were a nationalistic, democratic country in the 40’s, and a world superpower in the 50’s onward.

I have a headcanon, that Steve just doesn't want to fight anymore after all he was going through. So he just bought an apartment and now earns money by drawing. He enjoys making food for his best friends Sam and Bucky who visit him very often (or even live with him in the apartment) and is just having a good time :)
He never stayed in the past and got old he just brought the stones back and traveled back :D

Fan theory: he was replaced by a fake at some point (that one is a Skrull or an LMD or something), and the fake knew that if he stayed in the present he would be found out, so he went back in time because Peggy doesn't know him *THAT* well, and if he stayed in the present much longer Bucky would realize something was wrong very, very quickly.
I refuse to accept that ending
@@sydniii do you like my theory that he was replaced by a Skrull? And that at some point during their TV show Sam and Bucky are gonna find out and go looking for him
KittyPlayz1 I really hope it’s something like that. Or maybe at some point on Steve’s mission to return the stones his mind was messed with (the reality stone maybe?) and the ending is a hallucination?
