Patti LaBelle - On My Own (Official Music Video) ft. Michael McDonald
YESSSSS
Michael McDonald was the man back then❤
Still is, Sis- check out him with Kenny Loggins and Thundercat on Show You the Way. You will DIE- it’s so beautiful. The video is very moving too about a wounded warrior.
One of the greatest voices of our era. Such a talent!
Try Bobby Caldwell What you won’t do for love…
Micheal and Patti Labelle...on my own, again.
Michael McDonald’ll sing the drahs right off you. 😍
lol Yes, and those eyes of his don't hurt either!
Sure nuff.
Now that you've heard this, you might want to jump right over and listen to "Warren G - Regulate" :-)
Man, y'all better ask somebody about Michael McDonald. That blue eyed soul is all that.
“ Takin’ It to the Streets” is a McDonald / Doobies Civil Rights themed classic!
*"on my own" ~ THE duet of it's time ~ with the iconic miss patti labelle. **#yourewelcome*
Cause he's a singer. No computer needed.
He did a song with Patty Labelle called “on my own” those two voices together is pure heaven.
Michael McDonald has such a great voice: His tone is beautiful, and the power and control are incredible. And this is a great vehicle for him to show his vocal talents.
Love the robe! Very Hugh Hefner of you.
He’s sexy with a beautiful smile 😃
Sexy??..😳😳..wait til I get home wifey
The look on your face when you heard his voice is priceless.
Beautiful man, beautiful voice.
React to him backing up Kenny loggins on This Is It and the duet he does with James Ingram on the song Ya Mo Be There! Fire,Fire!✌
OH!! YEAH MINUTE BY MINUTE! GREAT REACTION!!
Now That You Know Michael's Voice,, Don't Be Surprised The Next Time You Listen To Steely Dan "Peg" If You Hear A Really Familiar Voice In The Background.
I didn’t know that and I’ve heard that song plenty of times. He’s in the Christopher Cross song “ ride like the wind” & I love him as well!
Michael has a ton of soul!!!
The late, great Louis Johnson of the Brothers Johnson slapping the bass guitar creating the funky groove that McDonald sing on top of.
So many people never had any inclination that all music could be done by many musications. I grew up In the 60's and 70's and that's when groups and people had no idea other groups or individuals could do this. I grew up listening all types of music. I also grew up in town where color was no issue. Music transcended our lives. This is why music heals all people. Or I hope so...I was brought up to see a person's heart not their color. THANK YOU MOM, LOVE TO ALL.
Try Minute by Minute, Love Keeps You Running, Black Water, Long Train Running by the Doobie Bros - he was their lead singer for a while....
Yessssssss
Great songs. Long Train Runnin was done a few months back I believe 👍
Saw them when Michael was with Doobies at Oakland Colosseum. They were on fire!
Minute by minute!!!
If you wanna be picky Black Water and Long Train Runnin' were recorded pre Michael McDonald
Your VERY respectful when it comes to music. VERY mature for a 21 year old....
"On My OWN" by Patti LaBelle And Michael. Btw the girl singing background on this is Michael's sister!
This man’s voice is unmistakable, you know exactly who it is as soon as he opens his mouth. He is smooth like butta. Which is why Warren G sampled this in regulators!
Check out Warren G ft Nate Dogg (RIP👑) -Regulators if u haven’t already!!! They sample this beat and it’s a classic💯💯💯 I’m sure you’ve heard it before, somewhere tho🤷🏽♀️✌🏾🖤
Right! My son had a little basketball team called themselves,"Regulators". They always came on the court as that song playing when challenging. They were darn good too😂. He'll be" 38 " this month on 26th. I'll always love that song brings back good times when my children were kids. Good old 90's !!! "Keep Forgetting" is one of his many greats I came up listening too. Love Michael McDonald, Doobie brothers!! When I was in Highschool band we played ,",Long Train Running " after the fight song every time our team scored. The crowd always went wild! Even the opponent side was up on their feet jamming with us.😄. Many had said y'all might as well make that song y'all official fight song. 😂. Good ole 70's!! But hey when my oldest kids made it to highschool in the 90's. They told me Mama they still playing that song. It goes off!😄. I couldn't believe it!! 😂
Right! The reactors that are a little older catch onto the fact that it was sampled.
He's so young he doesn't remember Regulators. I'm feeling a little old today
"I keep Forgettin' " Has a great groove to it. McDonald has his special way of killing it. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Check out...all is fair in love.... he has an amazing voice!
His voice is sooooo smooth. If you wanna check out some more blue-eyed soul listen to Bobby Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love.
The late great Jeff Pocaro, of TOTO on drums.
Bomb song right here!
Louis Johnson on the bass
Oh damn. I didn’t know that - so cool!
Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro from Toto are playing on this track, plus Greg Phillinganes, and Louis Johnson . Not a surprise the instrumentation sounds incredible.
came her to say just that. what an outstanding song in every respect
Love Michael McDonald! Check out Bobby Coldwell's "What you won't do for love"! It's right up there as one of the best vocals and song for me.
Love Michael. That is a mature voice hitting all his register. He does not gIve af. HIis sister is the one laying down the straight underbeat: "I can't forget/Not in love anymore."
This man could not fail with a voice like that. Still love him to this day.
Lol....you're so silly and so damn cute at the same time. I love your reactions.
His duet with Patty Labelle will blow your socks off!!!
As someone suggested below U should review "On My Own" a Duet with Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald.. ♠W.G.
They could have called him Midas McDonald back in the 70's and 80's... EVERYTHING he touched turned to gold!
My step dad did arrangements and studio work. He kept playing this over and over and as a little kid I thought wow, what a happy tune for such ummm... Confusing lyrics.
But that's the point isn't it?
Soul, Rock and Jazz all together !
I love anything Michael sang with The Doobie Brothers, a duet with a female artist or solo! That voice and soul!
React to On My Own🔥with Patti LaBelle video or song 🎵 and Ya Moh Be There with James Ingram 🔥
Love seeing reactors discover new music. Theres sooo much music out there that people would love, they just need have an open mind and take the time to search and find it. I recommend the "The Doobie Brothers - It Keeps You Runnin' (1977)" live video for another epic McDonald vocal performance
Me too! I’d love to be a reactor but there’s really no genre I don’t know about or any mainstream groups cuz I love music so much but I’d like to react
The live 1977 “It Keeps You Runnin’” is probably the best live performance from the Doobies / Michael M. that you’re going to see on the Tube. You can not be disappointed.
I love No looking Back,Michael McDonald's
Background vocals by his sister Maureen.
Oh my goodness some Michael McDonald this man’s got a voice of his own. Check out the stuff you did with the Doobie Brothers she is one talented man.
Check out Regulators by Nate Dog and Warren G for a popukar sample of this track..... also helps if your familiar with the movie Young Guns... "Regulators, Mount up!" If you haven't seen the movie you'll miss the refrence... of course these were hugely popular in the 90's...
"Takin It To the Streets" with Doobie Brothers 1982. PERFECT live performance
Love this!! Soooo smooth and Michael is soooo easy on the eye!! ❤🔥
OH YES, still smooth and still sooo easy on the eyes❤️
I love when a song makes that beautiful smile on your face. Doobies are 🔥 Twon. You should react to more. You have a beautiful smile. Black water is a good one too. So many. ❤️💥🔥 if I may LISTEN TO THE MUSIC. SHOUKD BE FIRST.
Your fantastic reaction to this song was perfect.
That's exactly how I feel.. every time I hear Michael McDonald sing.

A song about unrequited love..so powerful.

My husand use to say everytime Michael mc came on the radio he could see my mouth water, he was right
Such a cool song. Timeless. 😎
I knew you wouldnt be able to sit still for long, his funky, Jazzy, with a touch of the blues vocals and sound...Awesome, Thanks Sweetie for the memories, Peace and Good Vibes
The female is his sister Maureen.
It's almost like hearing it for the first time yourself! It really takes you back! It's like you just strapped into a time machine!
I keep searching for specific song reactions and I get a big smile when I see you’ve reacted to it 😁 you’re so entertaining haha
Mike just gave a live concert on Mandolin last Friday. He’s as incredible as ever. Twon, you will love his Civil Rights anthem, Takin’ It to the Streets! That’s him on keys, too. He’s a phenomenal funk and gospel pianist.
Those are his sisters on backup vocals.
Damn I miss it

I didn't know that was his sister singing background!!! WOW great in their own right!
@@barbjohnson6268 both sisters!
His singing voice is like iconic unique. The way he mixes such a large deep relaxed sound with that falsetto and his vibrato changes so intentionally. I would believe any damn word that man says when he sings. Plus this song on a good set of car speakers can be a blissful moment driving by yourself on the right day!
Bruce Hornsby and The Range-The Way It is
You know it's the jam when homie got the thizz face the whole time lol

Love his voice! If you like that smooth sound and you haven’t already reacted to Player’s “Baby Come Back” ... do it. Hall & Oates are incredible as well. “Sara’s Smile” and “ She’s Gone”, check them out!
Must hear his song "Sweet Freedom"
Great reaction. This song took me back.😀❤️
The Doobie Brothers , he was in that band , 1 of the most beloved group in the 70s
Love your life bro. It is a good thing when a younger generation digs older music. It helps to understand us old codgers a little better.
You can’t help but to start moving when that jam plays.
Michael is in the hall of fame twice!! With the Doobie brothers and solo! My favorite artist!! I loved when you were totally vibing with your eyes closed!! Great reaction!!
His duet with Patti Labelle "On My Own" in an all-time classic.
"Taking It To The Streets" studio album version.
Also, he’s one of the few white artists featured on NYC’s famous Jazz and R&B station in NYC, WBLS. Him and Hall & Oates, artists who transcend race and tradition, who earned their place with their amazing natural soulful voices and music tracks in their songs.
Michael was part of the DOOBIE BROTHERS BAND. Long Train Running, Listen to the Music, China Grove and Black Water are a few of their hits!👍♥️
Takin' it to the Streets
True that to your reaction, young Man. White boy sang. It's funky, and it's good. Keep on.
You always look like you are having a great time grooving to this smooth jam. Love real music
That back-up vocal sounds like something Ashanti would be perfect for.

With Patti LaBelle, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross and backings on so many in the 70s / 80s
He did a lot of studio work too. Listen to Steely Dan the song Peg. The harmonies that Michael laid down in the studio are fierce!
Somewhere Over the Rainbow-Patti LaBelle live at the Apollo Theater.
Just drop that one right in the playlist, bloop!
Fkn JAM

I wish people would react to ''I can let go now'' by MM ... so beautiful and sad.
I was trying to figure out if that was stank face or the face of someone trying to figure out if that's really a White Guy singing. LOL I have been watching and catching up with you! I've missed you! Glad to see you're back. Always take care of yourself. I wish you could send about half that energy through my phone. LOL awesome reaction!
