Back in the early 60s i was about 4 "yurs old" never missed a Porter show! I finally got to see him at the Opry in the mid 90s, Then much later i seen him recieve a Gold watch on the Opry as a goodbye gift,,It was Sad to see what age can do to all of us before then end.....I hope God gives him a joy unknown to earth for he was always ready to entertain with a kind smile and Clean Country fun...
I think Norma Jean may have been my very 1rst crush. One of the first records I owned was one of hers. I remember listening to her sing, why don't you love me like you used to do, and staring at her picture. I thought she was beautiful.
This is one of the most charming videos I've ever seen. Everyone so cheerful and obviously enjoying performing and being with each other. I've watched it over and over.
I'd watch PW and NJ every Sat morning back in '62-'64 from Huntsville when working for NASA. When Dolly came on I thought poor little scared girl. Boy was I wrong!!! Anyway miss ol Porter
Always loved her husky-sounding voice!!! Always loved Porter and Norma Jean!!
RIP Buck Trent. That was one heck of a guitar solo.
