New 2025 Renault Grand Koleos Debuts As A Hybrid Based On Geely And Volvo Bones

At the Busan Motor Show in Korea, Renault debuted a fresh hybrid SUV called the Grand Koleos. Fascinatingly, this model is entirely based on a Geely SUV, hence it has nothing in common with the last generation Koleos.Based on its dimensions and look, the Renault Grand Koleos is a twin model to the Geely Xingyue L that debuted in 2021. Still, the first result of Geely and Renault's collaboration shows more than a few revised body panels.
The front uses the distinctive Renault grille and bumper intakes, and fresh LED graphics on the headlights. The profile is familiar, but the sheet metal is new and the greenhouse has been somewhat changed rearward. Conversely, the rear end is carried over with minute adjustments on the bumper and tailgate.
Along with fresh LED lighting on the headlamps, the front shows Renault's trademark grille and bumper intakes. By comparison, the rear end stays virtually unaltered except for some tailgate and bumper changes.The Renault Grand Koleos has a 4,780 mm ( 188.2 inch) footprint and a 2,820 mm (111 inch wheelbase. This renders it bigger than the EU-spec Austral and Espace SUVs as well as the departing Koleos. Available just in a five-seater arrangement, the inside boasts a spacious boot capacity of 633 liters (22.4 cubic feet).Like its twin, the Geely Xingyue L, the Renault Grand Koleos rides on the CMA architecture, also applied by the Volvo XC40 and several models from Geely and Lynk & Co. Though the chassis is also suitable with EV versions, under the hood there are choices for both ICE and hybrid powertrays.
Comprising a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and twin electric motors, the electrified configuration generates a total 242 horsepower (180 kW / 245 PS). Additionally available is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with turbocharger producing 208 horsepower (155 kW / 211 PS). Both times, power is sent to the front axle; the ICE model additionally has all-wheel drive option.
Starting this fall, the Renault Grand Koleos will be accessible in Korea; the corporation already welcomes applications of relevant nature. It's not apparent right now whether Renault intends to release the model into additional markets.
