2026 Nissan Maxima : is it according to expectations❓❗

The Nissan Maxima is the original four-door sports vehicle, at least according to Nissan, which has given that name to their biggest sedan for decades. The current-generation Maxima's manufacturing run is set to expire this year, but the nameplate will not be scrapped. Instead, it will reemerge in the coming years as an electric sedan, with much of its style inspired by the gorgeous IMs concept, which debuted in 2019. The 2026 Nissan Maxima is also slated to acquire powertrain components from the electric Ariya SUV, with production beginning in 2025 in Canton, Mississippi. The next Maxima will be completely new when it debuts for the 2026 model year. It will replace the current model, which will end manufacture this year. As Nissan prepares to reorganize its lineup, the Maxima moniker will be put on hold for a short time. Except for the amount of doors, we anticipate that relatively few features from the present Maxima will be carried over to the 2026 model. Some of its style will be inspired by Nissan's IMs concept, which has sharp angles and narrow lighting and is referred to be a "elevated sports sedan." The 2026 Nissan Maxima is estimated to cost between $44,000 and $61,000, depending on trim and extras. The 2026 Nissan Maxima will be based on the company's CMF-EV platform, which is shared with partners Renault and Mitsubishi and presently supports the Ariya. While we don't know how the new Maxima will be equipped, it makes sense for Nissan to build a base model with the majority of the Ariya's entry-level components, including a single electric motor on the front axle delivering 214 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The Ariya's most powerful all-wheel-drive configuration increases output to a respectable 389 horsepower. Since the Maxima is primarily about sporty driving, as Nissan claims, we'd want to see the same power statistics as the IMs concept-483 horsepower and 590 pound-feet. A child can dream.
