I picked up the Fujifilm X100VI last month so in today's video I discuss my early thoughts on using this camera for Street Photography and video.

The X100V was great, but I sold it fast. Later I tried the X-E1, and woooww the sensor is so much more harmonious and the body feels so much more premium. I don't miss anything about the X-E1 and can only advise everyone to take it instead of the x100v.

Super review !! Je l'ai également depuis 3 semaines et je l'aime beaucoup. Effectivement il a quelques défauts que tu as cités, j'ajouterais le "flip screen" mériterait d'avoir la même orientation que le X-T5 pour shooter au ras du sol 😉 c'est un boîtier secondaire pour moi (je travaille avec le Sony A7IV) et mour tous les jours ou en vacances... Il est adorable ! Je fais des POV avec, en street photo, et ce bel objet apporte aussi du sourire aux gens dans la rue 😊😉 encore une belle vidéo !!
i changed my settings so i can start video with one of the buttons so you don’t have to worry about going through the settings to change to video mode.
Awesome review. Is your video using recipe or built in simulation or did you use lut?

Of course X100 series cameras are wonderful pieces of equipment, very tactile to use in small package, but those constrains make me slow down on the travel shooting, so I just couldn’t justify purchase of either x100v back in days when came out nor x100vi nowdays…lack of buttons, one SD card slot, old battery, lack of weather sealling and small evf just holds me back and slowing down the proccess of my photography when traveling…xt series just does better job for me…

Plan to buy an xt30ii, please suggest a lens.. I'm so confused about choosing a lens.. in budget

Excellent review (as always) 😌
In my opinion it's nice to have it, but not as your main and only camera.
For that price, you can get a decent Fuji body (XT-4 second hand ?) and better lenses (F1.4 for example), and the image quality will be better + no compact limitations.
I'm not saying it's not a good camera, but I wouldn't trow that much money because of an internet hype thing.
Marketing is powerful these days, but we must be better 😌

Hi Eren. I'm not a video guy at all, but...With the vi, you can now assign a function button to "movie recording release" which immediately starts video recording. Function screen 6/9.
Yep, that’s exactly how I used mine. 👍
The problem with that function is that it fires off the video with the settings your camera is currently set to. Which for me atleast is typically specific photo settings.
I wish it was possible to set that function to fire off video in one of my stored custom settings for video instead.
@@AndreasFeydt yes. As I said, I don't do video so I would probably never use it and since there's at least an option now, they could fix it to work 'properly' with a firmware update.
Yep, as Andreas said, that function doesn't record with the video options you've set in movie mode. Hopfully Fujifilm come with a fix on that one
How much smaller/ lighter is it than the xt5? Very noticeably different or minor difference? Looking for an every day camera but love the size of the x100vi. Want something I can throw around my neck and not weigh me down.
Fuji x100VI 521g plus weather resistant kit - Fuji xt-5 557g plus lens (eg 27mm 2.8) 84g - the Fuji xt-5 is slightly heavier, but feels much better in the hand - it's your choice (-:
The x100vi does feel light , I can hang it around my neck without it feeling heavy. The XT5 isn't actaully that heavy but with the newer fuji lenses / zoom lens on the front it does feel heavier.

All your cons are things that I cared enough about to make me wait for the x100viii changing over the sensor. If the x100v had a better battery, and faster cards slots it would have been an instant purchase for me.

How did you manage with those old batteries? 😂 reminded me of xpro2 times with old batteries having to carry 4 out with me
3:05 Errr X-T5 & X-H2 not the X-H2S (that has a back-illuminated 26.1MP X-Trans 5 stacked sensor, the previous 26.1MP sensor which is still used in the X-S20 is the 26.1MP X-Trans 4 BSI CMOS Sensor). The X-T5, X-H2 & X100VI all use the same 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor.

The x100 range are fantastic, from the first to the current. The prices are going insane though. I'd disagree with issues around video access and memory cards as this isn't a "pro" camera. It's pro priced but too limited for most professionals. Shame it's not weather sealed still.

Can you not just press up on the joystick when you go to drive mode?
I usually shoot in CL - the slower burst mode, so its a couple clicks either way to get to Movie mode
With the hysteria that started with the X100V that saw them sell out and silly prices appear on ebay and now continuing with the X100VI and quite a few being bough just to immediately sell on well above the asking price, I sadly have to say the X100VI isn't worth the hassle, let alone the hype.
Yh the prices on the second hand market are insane and not worth it
XT30ii is a good recomendation, cheap, changeable lenses and smaller than the x1006
I don’t like this Camera because I already have the XT5 and I feel this 100VI is the same camera as the XT5 but with a fixed lens
You can do far more with he XT5, here its about the design and the size. If you like shooting at 23mm then its a good option
Will wait for X100VII hoping for a new lens at least on par with Ricoh GR sharpness levels.

The XT5 scorches the x100vi. Cheaper too.
How is X-T5 cheaper than X100VI?
The XT5 is around £100 cheaper at the moment - but you still need to buy a lens for it
@@erenjam I picked one up for 1100 euros. Fantastic camera.
This camera has given me a bad case of GAS! My brain is telling me to upgrade my X-T3 to an X-T5 or finally upgrade my phone from a dying iPhone XR. My heart is screaming for an X100VI and my wallet is telling me none of these are viable options. 😂😂

For some reason I’m obsessed by the thought of having a Fuji camera I can fit in a pocket hence the X100VI.
@@erenjamAgree, the XT5 is much more versatile overall.
@@robertlamont2611that’s what your phone is for. Upgrade your phone before you upgrade your camera. The latest iPhones have improved significantly in low light and you can easily print images up to 18x24 in.
