- Richard Rosario has spent two decades behind bars, insisting for every one of those years that 13 alibi witnesses could prove he was innocent of a 1996 New York City murder. A Random Encounter: Episode 2 | Conviction | Dateline NBC
4:45 that hand writing😵🤩
A person's entire life is up for grabs. Freedom vs. prison. Justice for the victim. Punishment for the criminal. But the cops can't be bothered to even attempt to verify an alibi? Oh well, they arrested someone, who cares about the rest? Uh... yeah, the "rest".. those are details that come back to bite you in the ass. Crazy. The more I hear about police work, the more disgusted I am. Even good cops are prevented from doing their job accurately and well. Ridiculous.
You know I think even in 1996 they had these things called TELEPHONES!!!
The lead detective on that case couldn't have called his alibi witnesses on the phone?
What, the department wouldn't pay for the long distance charges...?
These excuses are ridiculous...They are supposed to be working for THE PEOPLE (aka you and me who pay their fkn salaries) to find out the truth about what happened!!
Based on that fact alone, that the detective didn't check with the alibi witnesses, I am betting it was the detective who either told or hinted to the eyewitnesses what person to pick out from the mug books.
Or maybe one eyewitness said something "it kind of looks like this guy here"
And then the second eyewitness is interviewed, the cop turns to that page, points to the picture, and says "It was this guy, RIGHT? That's what the other eyewitness said, you had better back him up, we don't want him to get away with this and get off!"
Yes but if you watch enough dateline you the police don't give a f...k
Unreal.....makes ya Think who's lying who's telling the Truth
His alibi should have been the end of Richard's involvement in the investigation of this crime.
IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO HIM TO PROVE HE'S INNOCENT, PUT IT ON HIS DIME? God, I would like to assume that he means it's because he's currently in jail and not that this is what cops think of anyone they have to investigate.
Very sloppy police work for which innocent people have to pay. It’s so not right.
That's why you need to find someone that can be your witness that isn't family or friends so they know everybody can't just be covering for you
There are no new dateline nbc shows they are all re-runs and I have seen them all!
Was it Arm Robbery?
Anyway ,am not defending the detectives but a true friend would have come from Florida to new York to testify for him .
No one was contacted. Aren’t you paying any attention?
What happened to the real killers?
All pyschosocial..
