- Hi all! We received a Woodlander stove from Winnerwell to try out. I wanted to try it out and do a pre-burn so that it's ready for us when the cold weather returns this fall. So far I'm quite happy with the stove. I hope you enjoy the video.
Product provided for free by Winnerwell to be featured on our channel.
Stove: Winnerwell Woodlander Double View G1 - Medium size
Manufacturer's website: www.Winnerwell.com
Thank you for Watching.
I'm soooo happy to see some of these manufacturer's reaching out to smaller channels for their products. It gets tiring to see the larger channels aquire all their new gear for free and make a video just to get the product.
This channel is definitely my favorite bush crafting channel and you have always been transparent and honest. I'm very happy that this company reached out to you since you go hot tent camping all winter long. It looks like a great stove that will be an asset to you for years to come. I too can't wait for winter when you and Sandra are back in the compound. Yippee.
Hey Irene, great to hear from you. We were really happy that Winnerwell reach out to us. We're really happy with the stove.
Hey I enjoyed your review of the Winnerwell woodlander stove. I purchased the large model of the Woodlander stove about a year ago and I love it. I have used it a several time this past winter and early spring. It puts out enough heat to warm you up even just sitting around it in the open. I have cooked a large pot of chili and a pot of chicken, sausage and okra gumbo on it and they came out great. After the meals it is nice to make a nice pot of cowboy coffee.
You can cook on top of the stove plate and with no problems. The advantage of the stove plate is to removed it and get direct heat from the fire/coals. Fast cooking on a skillet for a sear.
I have not purchase the accessories for the stove, such as the oven or hot water container that fits near the chimney base. It allows for you to boil water and have space to cook with a separate pot on the stove. The racks are great for drying wood or some clothing.
With the woodlander, I have placed some moist wood under the stove to dry out when it is damp out.
You will be very pleased with your stove!!! I haven’t done hot tent camping in years, but I enjoy taking the stove out when it is cold to cook and enjoy the heat and food with good friends and being out in the woods or near the lake.
Cheers,
Cajuncook1
Thanks so much for these details! What drew you to the Woodlander, rather than the large Nomad? I was thinking the Woodlander's 3 legs might be better on uneven ground, but I like that the Nomad is 4" shorter and the hot water container can be moved to the side. So tough for me to choose between the two large ones (same volume for wood).
What's the radius of heat coming from this when it is going full strength?
Thinking about using this under a covered patio. Would this work well to heat a group of people in a circle of chairs?
Cool, great little stove. Can’t wait to see you use it this fall/winter. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Michael, should work out great when the cold weather returns!
Cool! Now you got me wanting it cold again.
😄😄
Looks like a nice stove. Thanks for showing us. Take care.
That really is a neat stove. That should give off plenty of heat for those cold nights in the tent. You guys camp a lot so if you recommend it, it has to be a decent product. Very nice of the company to send you their product to try out. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Elmer, we haven't tried it yet in cold conditions yet but I'm pretty sure it should work out pretty good. I'll make sure to post an update once we do. Cheers
Looks like a good stove. Can't wait for cold weather to see it in action. Keep up the good wor. Stay safe.
Thanks, you too Milton!

Great little stove, I will be looking for one myself...
Great thanks! Ordering now, this should go in the 'last long enough that the kids pass it on to the grandkids' category because it should last generations.
Luv the cute stove enjoy it when time gets here.

That was a awesome stove . Like the spring retractable legs . No idea about that cooking plate .
Thanks Arizona Kid, I'm really happy with it!
Yay !!!!! A new toy !!!!!! 😁😁😁
😄😄
I own the Winnerwell Nomad Large view. Best stove Ive ever owned
Nice! Really happy with the one we got.
What drew you to the Nomad, rather than the large Woodlander? I was thinking the Woodlander's 3 legs might be better on uneven ground, but I like that the Nomad is 4" shorter and the hot water container can be moved to the side. So tough for me to choose between the two large ones (same volume for wood).
I really love that stove. Being able to watch the flames from inside the tent will be awesome. Is it almost winter yet I'm so ready
😄😄Hi Jo, just a few months away.
Great to see you guys again. It's been awhile. How is everyone? You got a new stove? Its neat looking.Glad to see no snow on the ground.it must be summer where your at. I think were going into lockdown again because the virus is getting worse. How is your lovely wife sandra doing? I miss seeing you two at your shelter. You still have the shelter don't you? Stay safe.
Hi Terri, yes we will probably start going back to the shelter in the fall!
You are the first I have seen that mentioned the tent peg holes. It could also be screwed into another surface if it is installed in a cabin, or RV.
Great review! Very thorough. I got a good feel for what this stove is all about.
We are looking to buy one of these for a treehouse that we will be remodeling into an off grid, cozy shelter, for those beautiful winter nights here in WI.
Did you by chance do a winter video of this stove inside your tent? (update: just found your other video...gonna watch now:)
Hai, friends 🙋🇷🇴 Nice video 👍❤️
nice presentation, looks like a perfect stove for winter camping. i will go to their web site to try to find what sizes are available.
Thank you Harry!
I tried to find the double view for sale in the US but I couldent. I went with the woodlander medium and love it so far. I remove the round top and set my bushcraft grill across the stove. I've cooked hamburgers, hotdogs, and Brats this way no problem.
Nice, thanks XCR Man!
I debating on the med size to large but love the stove
Thanks drew, can't wait to use it for an overnighter!
Stability is BETTER with 3 legs as opposed to 4 legs
I guess they gave you a stove to test out. It turned out to be the stainless steel model. There are a lot of sites likes yours that get equipment from company's. I believe your site should be the one that gets the Titanium model. Maybe it's not there yet? I'm watching and look forward to more .
Thanks Bert!
I would love more information brother
I love this stove. The doubleview large is my pick for a tiny cabin. I'm not afraid of cleaning glass. I should receive it this week. I didn't plan on buying the water heater reservoir, but it looks like with the doubleview there are no hooks on the side for it?
Hi there Sue! Hope you have a lot of great nights with your new stove!
have one would highly rec. the water jacket you will have hot water available at all times
I think the plate just gives or provides a more evenly heated area.
Thanks stan!
Hello did you get a elbow for the pipe to go out the tent?
yes, it has to be ordered separately.
First view and like
Thanks Raza!
torn between this and the g stove
They're both pretty nice. I haven't seen the g stove up close but I'm really happy with the quality of the Winnerell.
Great job Mike!! Now you see where that damper is setting on that stove pipe? that is why I was telling you on the other stove the damper was in the wrong place.... They can't be that close to the stove....
You may very well be right Richard, I'll see how it works out once the cold weather hits.
@@IamOutdoorsy Hey buddy we all miss your videos, I hope you have one soon.....Stay safe and healthy....
its for the oven it sits on top
Way too expensive! Beautiful looking stove though
Windows get black in minutes, bad design and should be straight steel ...FYI Weber and Napolean or any reputable manufacturer does not have glass windows on bbqs for that reason. Good for you you got a free one.
I think the windows are a great idea like Mike said nothing like sitting there watching the glow from the fire also the windows can be cleaned, great addition to your camping Mike & Sandra.
If you burn hot enough and use the right wood your right the glass will clear off
Windows only get black if you use wet wood or pine. Hardwoods burn hot and glass stays perfectly clear
Guys, no argument, it is wonderful to see fire, light and hear the crackle! However, regardless of wood, it will go dark to black if you do not clean/maintain it. Windex will not work. Perhaps you can suggest how to keep it clean with a cleanser or technique for whoever is contemplating purchasing one.
