    Thank-you so much! This video saved my great-grandmother's plant. The plant is over 50 years old. The plant was hanging on the wall, with the vines tacked onto the wall. The plant fell and the vines ripped off the wall and from the plant, causing severe root shock. The plant was dying and almost all that was left were the vine stems with no healthy leaves. It took several weeks to get the plant healthy again, and now almost five months later the pothos plant is thriving! Thank-you so, so much for this video. There is nothing else like it on the internet. I thought all was lost, and you helped me save and restore a part of my family.

    Hi Ruchi, your videos are so, so helpful, and you do such a great job of explaining exactly how to do this! I really appreciate it. Being a teacher myself, I have a feeling you're one too!
    I have a couple of questions:
    1. I propagated a few cuttings of pothos in water, but they had only a node at the bottom and a leaf on top. the cuttings seem to have taken root in the soil quite firmly by now, but there is no new growth at all, and it's been about 2 months (spring). Is this because it takes longer if there are no nodes above the soil?
    2. Like you, I also got a half-dead plant from a neighbor. It had long but empty vines. I watched this video to cut the vines and have placed them for propagation. But I left about a foot of the vines on the plant, with at least one leaf on each. I can see some new growth at the tips, but will the empty parts of the vine just remain empty? In that case is it better for me to cut them even shorter and propagate them instead?

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před 4 lety +1

      First question - yes it takes longer. Second question - yes they will probably stay naked

    Hello! I enjoyed your video, it was very helpful and I watched the other one too. I am trying to figure out first.. IF* I have a pothos/money plant. It is very old and lanky. It looks like your plant and that vine, but the leaves are maybe a slight different shape. The branches are so thick and strong- they are alive but almost woody. The leaves are slightly yellowed and they fall off. The new growth at the middle top of the plant near the soil... it looks like your plant. More medium green color. I am watering it like a succulent, so rarely, and I can tell the soil is a dry soil for cactus plants. Can you help me? I can't find any articles or identification assistance that will help me identify if it is a pothos plant or something else, something close. I think maybe it is just sick and old but is indeed a pothos. Do the branches of old pothos get bigger than the one you showed? Mine is maybe another 1/3 of that in additional thickness compared to yours. Thank you. Michelle

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před 4 lety

      Yes, pothos comes in many different varieties. Even leaves may be much larger. I think you need to water it more.

    Hello! Thank you so much for this video! I'm so grateful for the good information! I have a question... my plant has only one vine left on it (accidentally moved it to a windowsill where the window was open a crack in the winter and most of the plant died). That vine is 2 or 3 feet long, with about 4 leaves at the end. Should we cut up the vine as you did and start them over in water? I've read we could pin the vine up into the soil so that it'll root directly into the soil from the nodes on the vine. Thank you for your help!

    Does this work for a money tree that is dying too? I got this tree the day my first child was born a couple years ago so it's very important to me! Out of the five stalks that are braided together one is still alive. Out of an 24 inch stalk a little over 12 inches looks alive still. It has new growth of the 5 leaves coming out of it still. The brown is spreading from the bottom up. I have not been over watering it but it was in low light for to long. Hello Madam, After cutting the photos can I put all the pieces into soil not in water ? Also my photos all leaf are turning black started from bottom and slowly going upside, what to to in this situation?

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před rokem

      Remove the black part because that is rot. Also, roots grow faster in water but you can do it in coco peat and perlite mix too

      @@EasyPeasyGardening Thanks for your response, Madam Actually the cause is after giving fertilizer to plant (I think I exceed the quantity) they started turning black within few days, Should I have to plant in other soil else all cut part will grow in same soil (mixture of Soil+Fertilizer+Roots) ?

      @Shanta Laddha yes cut off the black part , shake off all the soil, wash it in water and plant in fresh soil without that fertilizer

      Give it plenty of water and some shade. If you have any branches, try what I did.

    Thank you so much for showing this method , I will try it for sure . But here I have doubts on money plant please help me , I got money plants from a native place , there they have plants of these plants which is thriving they don't give special care to it , and it is planted in land it grew up and it covered all compound and went to neighbors tree there it is very beautiful and it has bigger leaves and stem in that area , it covered a tree , it's leafs are very bigger like it covers my hand , its stem is very thick ..there they get direct sun light , but they have some shade like other trees shade even they get direct sun light . so I got some cuttings from there , I took it and planted in pots but it is turning yellow black , the soil is moist no water issues I kept in bright light , it already had roots in it , I m so worried what's wrong I did to it . I will try the method which you showed here .but I already kept some cuttings in water too it's been three weeks yet no roots are developed, what can I do ? Please help me

      That's an outdoor variety. It probably does not need as much water. Transplanting is a shock to the cutting so it may take some time to recuperate. Give it some time

    If the branch turns yellow does it mean the plant is dead and nothing can be done? My branches are pale white...

      Yeah, if they are yellow that means it is too late to resurrect them.

      It doesn't have to mean it's dead. I have a yellow branch that is currently sprouting a leaf.

      Are you changing water often? Does it have any roots yet? Does it get a lot of indirect sunlight?
