Thank-you so much! This video saved my great-grandmother's plant. The plant is over 50 years old. The plant was hanging on the wall, with the vines tacked onto the wall. The plant fell and the vines ripped off the wall and from the plant, causing severe root shock. The plant was dying and almost all that was left were the vine stems with no healthy leaves. It took several weeks to get the plant healthy again, and now almost five months later the pothos plant is thriving! Thank-you so, so much for this video. There is nothing else like it on the internet. I thought all was lost, and you helped me save and restore a part of my family.
So glad to hear about your success
50 years old omg

Thank you so much! I had a beautiful money tree but when moving I left it for a friend to take care of for a month and well it came back with no leaves but green trunks still. If I can't save it at least I know I can do this! Thank you again
thank you so much! I have been struggling with my pothos that I have had for 4 years and is very sentimental to me. I just recently started having issues with it. I am trying this today! I think it will be a lifesaver for it!
Awesome!
Hi. Thank you. Great video, explained very clearly. I need to save a Pothos plant that was given to me as a gift 9 years ago when my Father passed away. 6/21/20
Omg. My heart sank when I read this. I kid you not... I came here trying to save a pothos I got 10 years ago when my father died. I feel like it's a part of him that lives on. I'm desperate to save it.
Excellent! I am one of those plant people that never want to throw away any piece of a plant "just in case it will live".
Thank u so much.I applied this method. Now my money plant is good.
Very helpful as I was trying to save my dying money plant
Thank you. Because I had a big plant but the winter heat in my home didnt treat it well. Most of my plant died but I have a long branch and some leaves. I'm going to repot it and do the branch as you suggested.
Thank You for this. It was exactly what I was looking for (in a hurry). My plant will grow again!

Thanks so much!
You're welcome!
I'm trying this but with a very long vine. We'll see. The vine has lots of leaves but the pot it was in has root rot. TY
thanks, good job mam.
Thank you
Hi Ruchi, your videos are so, so helpful, and you do such a great job of explaining exactly how to do this! I really appreciate it. Being a teacher myself, I have a feeling you're one too!
I have a couple of questions:
1. I propagated a few cuttings of pothos in water, but they had only a node at the bottom and a leaf on top. the cuttings seem to have taken root in the soil quite firmly by now, but there is no new growth at all, and it's been about 2 months (spring). Is this because it takes longer if there are no nodes above the soil?
2. Like you, I also got a half-dead plant from a neighbor. It had long but empty vines. I watched this video to cut the vines and have placed them for propagation. But I left about a foot of the vines on the plant, with at least one leaf on each. I can see some new growth at the tips, but will the empty parts of the vine just remain empty? In that case is it better for me to cut them even shorter and propagate them instead?
First question - yes it takes longer. Second question - yes they will probably stay naked
Thank you Ma'am for such a fantastic video! Can you please help me with the soil. My money plant has only 2 leaves left and it used to be so healthy and beautiful plant once.
Use general purpose soil, 2 or 3 parts compost, 1 part coco peat and 1 part perlite
Thank you very much mam jii
You are welcome
Hello! I enjoyed your video, it was very helpful and I watched the other one too. I am trying to figure out first.. IF* I have a pothos/money plant. It is very old and lanky. It looks like your plant and that vine, but the leaves are maybe a slight different shape. The branches are so thick and strong- they are alive but almost woody. The leaves are slightly yellowed and they fall off. The new growth at the middle top of the plant near the soil... it looks like your plant. More medium green color. I am watering it like a succulent, so rarely, and I can tell the soil is a dry soil for cactus plants. Can you help me? I can't find any articles or identification assistance that will help me identify if it is a pothos plant or something else, something close. I think maybe it is just sick and old but is indeed a pothos. Do the branches of old pothos get bigger than the one you showed? Mine is maybe another 1/3 of that in additional thickness compared to yours. Thank you. Michelle
Yes, pothos comes in many different varieties. Even leaves may be much larger. I think you need to water it more.
Can you do any troubleshooting videos on gardenias? Like yellowing for ensuring high productive blooms?
I don't have a gardenia but let me see what I can do.
Hello! Thank you so much for this video! I'm so grateful for the good information! I have a question... my plant has only one vine left on it (accidentally moved it to a windowsill where the window was open a crack in the winter and most of the plant died). That vine is 2 or 3 feet long, with about 4 leaves at the end. Should we cut up the vine as you did and start them over in water? I've read we could pin the vine up into the soil so that it'll root directly into the soil from the nodes on the vine. Thank you for your help!
Both methods work. You can cut a few pieces and put them in water and rest put in soil
Easy Peasy Gardening thank you! I’ll do one or two cuts and put in water and pin the rest boiled into the soil. Thanks!
This is the first video in which the results have also been shown...Good one...
My money plant in soil pot is not growing all the leaves are slowly becoming black ...
Thank you. Is your money plant too dry or too wet?
@@EasyPeasyGardening plant is dry...soil is avg wet...
I had repotted 6 months ago in bigger pot and from then the grown has all most stopped...and for last month all the new leaves are becoming black...
@@atulkedia8425how big is the plant? please move it inside in a brightly lit area if it is outside. Also may be you want to make a few cuttings and put them in water just in case.
@@EasyPeasyGardening I took cutting and put the same in water and the results after 14 days is very good...all the cutting are showing good results...now pls provide the soil mix which should be used to put these new cutting in soil..
In normal garden soil and sand composition the plant died and putting blthe cutting it the soil...I had kept the same in a place away from direct sunlight
Do you have any recommendations on natural fertilizer that I can use for money plant?
Compost
Thanks so much. Somehow mine got lost in the shuffle and dried out and is turning yellow. I will keep THIS process in mind if I cannot get her to bounce back.
Good luck!
@@EasyPeasyGardening TY!
@@chrismeyers1607 you are welcome
If a cutting has multiple rooting modes, would you place them horizontally or vertically when transplanting to soil? I’d if I plant them horizontally they should still push out their leaves once ready yes?
They would
Should the second node be outside or inside of the water?
At least one node should be outside water
My stem that had broke has leaves and few nodes where so I cut
Just below a node
Does this work for a money tree that is dying too? I got this tree the day my first child was born a couple years ago so it's very important to me! Out of the five stalks that are braided together one is still alive. Out of an 24 inch stalk a little over 12 inches looks alive still. It has new growth of the 5 leaves coming out of it still. The brown is spreading from the bottom up. I have not been over watering it but it was in low light for to long. We recently moved and I went into the hospital for a while so I wasn't able to tend to it. Can it come back from this?
Yes it can grow back. Check if it is root bound and may be repot it and also give it more indirect light.
I live in Seattle and there’s no good sunlight in winter. My pothos has turned black and it’s all dead. What shall I do now?
Are all the stems black? If you can find some healthy stems, put them in water and they may develop roots. Pathos doesn't need too much sun
Hi can the money plant grow with just one node ?
It does
Hello! I followed your instructions and have many fresh cuttings with no leaves, but some stems are turning yellow and dried out, but none of them have roots yet....am I doing something wrong? They are placed in indirect sunlight. Please help. Thank you.
They grow better in spring or summer
will this work for pothos that were accidentally left outside and got freezing?
As long as they are not rotting, it should work
My pot has only one vine growing out that's maybe 9 feet long & naked (leafless) on the bottom half. What would be the best way to fix that?☺️🙆♀️🙇♀️
Make small cuttings and root them
I have a money tree where the trunk is still intact; the trunk has intertwined branches where they meet and make leaves. However, my cats have taken out the leaves and has left the plant leafless. Any ideas on how to get it to sprout again? Thank you in advance!
You will have to prune where you want new growth
will the vine ever get leaves back after they lose it
If you leave it like that it won't
Can we grow pothos from seeds, is their any seeds available or just they can be propagated by cuttings only ? Can you please reply ? Thank you
I did tried you way, taking one stemp with out leave , and propagate in water and now after 3/4 weeks I have got many new leave form same 🙏
Cuttings are the only way. I have never seen their flowers or seeds.
Easy Peasy Gardening so nice of you, thankful for ur reply 🙏
My stem of pothos is turning brown and soft. What should I do? Do I have to cut that stem?
Yes, it's rotting
Mam i hv money plant but it grows and then all leaf get dry then only trunks r they're plz reply
You have to water it consistently. If you don't water for a long time, the leaves will dry out. Also you can trim and keep it short then you won't have bare stems and it will grow near the cuts
Thanks, a month ago I bought a beautiful pothos and somehow my cat ripped it off from the soil and it went unnoticed for a day .I almost lost it. Hopefully it will revive again.
Pothos is pretty reselient, it will survive
just a note that pothos is poisonous to cats
Ok I can just add in water no dirt ??
Yes
Thank you for the video! I have a few potho stems in water with a lot of roots but no new leaves. Why?
How old are the cuttings?
maybe 3 months @@EasyPeasyGardening
@@nayelisolis4567 are the roots healthy? Meaning no foul smell? If they are healthy, they will grow in spring
yeah, the roots are healthy, no smell to them. I change the water once a week. @@EasyPeasyGardening

Mera money plant very health.. but niche girgayaa root tootgaya.. phir me thuranth mitti me rakhdiya... but no use. its look like die.. plzzz give me suggetion. very urgent..
How long is the stem that broke? Does it have a lot of leaves?
CAN YOU PUT THEM IN SOIL SO THEY CAN ROOT OR IS IT THROUGH WATER ONLY??? SORRY IF MY QUESTION SOUNDS SILLY, I'M NEW TO THE PLANT WORLD!!! HA HA
You should be able to grow it in soil too although in my experience, the success rate is better in water.
@@EasyPeasyGardening THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE 😁
Please ma did you use only water, or you add something.
Only water
Madam want to ask
Roots are rotting in water
What to do
Please suggest
Transplant them in soil
Great video
What type of soil you prefer please guide Thankyou
I use general potting soil mix. If you are making it yourself, use 1 part coco peat, 2 parts compost and 1 part perlite
Easy Peasy Gardening thankyou
My money plant is potted and it was growing well but, from past one month leaves are not there only stem is growing. What I have to do? It's in balcony gets indirect sunlight.
Probably it is hibernating because of the winter approaching. Don't worry , it will be fine in spring. Keep watwribgcwhen the soil is dry.
@@EasyPeasyGardening thanks for the reply mam.
can we do this Feb
Depends on the weather. In winters, the growth is slow.
My money plant has shrink.....like it have no life... And also I think root have rotten due to over watering....what should I do now
Follow the steps in this video
How many days it takes the leaf to grow mam
It depends on a lot of things but in general you should start to see growth in 3 to 4 weeks
I got big leaves money plant cutting.. But wo chal ni rahi. Plz help..
I think that one needs a tree to climb on
hello! lovely video! how can i send you a message with a photo? i have a baby pothos with very little room to cut and want to make sure i do it in the right place! the stem is black and i'm hoping to revive it. help !
do you have an instagram or other social media?
No
Yes I need root
😊
Hello Madam, After cutting the photos can I put all the pieces into soil not in water ? Also my photos all leaf are turning black started from bottom and slowly going upside, what to to in this situation?
Remove the black part because that is rot. Also, roots grow faster in water but you can do it in coco peat and perlite mix too
@@EasyPeasyGardening Thanks for your response, Madam Actually the cause is after giving fertilizer to plant (I think I exceed the quantity) they started turning black within few days, Should I have to plant in other soil else all cut part will grow in same soil (mixture of Soil+Fertilizer+Roots) ?
@Shanta Laddha yes cut off the black part , shake off all the soil, wash it in water and plant in fresh soil without that fertilizer
Namaskar Madam
Last Month Some reason I went Africa in that one month my money plant not get water now condition is only root are left in small quantity
Pls Madam tell any ideas
Give it plenty of water and some shade. If you have any branches, try what I did.
Thank you so much for showing this method , I will try it for sure . But here I have doubts on money plant please help me , I got money plants from a native place , there they have plants of these plants which is thriving they don't give special care to it , and it is planted in land it grew up and it covered all compound and went to neighbors tree there it is very beautiful and it has bigger leaves and stem in that area , it covered a tree , it's leafs are very bigger like it covers my hand , its stem is very thick ..there they get direct sun light , but they have some shade like other trees shade even they get direct sun light . so I got some cuttings from there , I took it and planted in pots but it is turning yellow black , the soil is moist no water issues I kept in bright light , it already had roots in it , I m so worried what's wrong I did to it . I will try the method which you showed here .but I already kept some cuttings in water too it's been three weeks yet no roots are developed, what can I do ? Please help me
That's an outdoor variety. It probably does not need as much water. Transplanting is a shock to the cutting so it may take some time to recuperate. Give it some time
@@EasyPeasyGardening thank you so much for your kind reply , I have a doubt that how much water to fill to the bottle to dip the cuttings
@@deepydeepy2330 make sure that at least two or three nodes go inside water
@@EasyPeasyGardening thanks a lot 🤝
If the branch turns yellow does it mean the plant is dead and nothing can be done? My branches are pale white...
Yeah, if they are yellow that means it is too late to resurrect them.
It doesn't have to mean it's dead. I have a yellow branch that is currently sprouting a leaf.
@@MayaTheColdplayer oh wonderful
Hi, my cutting had three leaves, one got yellow so I removed. Now the other one is turning yellow. What to do? Please advise. Thanks
Are you changing water often? Does it have any roots yet? Does it get a lot of indirect sunlight?
