If anyone is having an issue not seeing the array work after selecting the path as the curve type at @ 3:31, make sure that you select both the path and the chain in object mode and apply scale. Will work wonders :3

If you’re getting an issue with the chains on the object offset, it may be because you moved the chain links. Easy fix, simply right click in object mode, on the menu go to snap and click cursor to selected (make sure you have the chain selected beforehand).
Then respawn the empty plain axes and rotate 90 degrees on Y axis. Should fix the issue.

Great. Now to get this chain connected to my drawbridge and hopefully the animation goes smoothly. I was doing something with a rope and knot yesterday/this morning and it was a nightmare. I ended up deleting the whole thing. Sailboat. Maybe try again later. At least there is wind in the sail. That's something.

I have a question. Why doesn't all the torus rotated 90 degrees when you use object offset. And please tell me is there a way to scale it down without any problem.

5 months too late but here we go^^
the offset rotates the whole chain but it always skips one more after rotating. basically it rotates the whole chain by 0° and now it skips the first and rotates the rest by 90°. Now it skips the 1st and 2nd and rotates everything again.
Scaling the original link in edit mode by selecting everything and scaling works fine.

The trouble with the array+curve technique is that the whole object bends around the curve. You might not notice this for gentle curves, but try sharper bends, and you will see what I mean--particularly if the link object has a lot of geometry.
There is a better way to do it, using the Geometry Nodes feature.

Yes this method distorts the geometry also this tut is a few years old. Geometry nodes are the way to go

im having a problem seeing the 4 vertices in the nurbs path, i only see one in the middle ( i changed the scale of the tourus cuase i needed a smaller chain) how can i create more vertices in the nurbs path? :( i cant stretch it also extrude dosnt work
