I sometimes find it hard to understand when native English speakers speak, but when non-native English speakers speak I understand their English better. So I have a strange question. Hey, I am glad you found the videos helpful. Well yes the videos do have subtitles as well as transcript of whatever they said in the video right beneath the video so you can actually go to that point read that as well. I would recommend to try our some free course on Coursera to get a feel of the Virtual Learning Environment so if you ever go in, you would know what to expect from the structure of the modules.
@@FaizanJavair Oh thank you very much for replying to me. That's really nice! Thank you also for the advice to check out your free courses on Coursera.
Hi, I am interesting of this UOL and i want to ask you some questions. 1. Is every subject covered with video tutorial? 2. How about support from tutors for example in Math or C++? 3. Can you share may be some videos (from youtube) or from your math course to understand what we should be prepared to? I finished school long time ago and I think, that I should update some entry level of math.
Hey, I did share a Github REPL link in the description. You can check each subject and go to appropriate links to watch some extra support stuff gathered by students. You can also download the syllabus if you want. Every course video covers the topics from scratch. There were some that required some prior understanding but mostly they explained well in the videos. Even if the videos failed to explain it properly, I always had CZcams to help me out.
You are assigned a tutor for your online tutor group, they do have some webinars but mostly it's just you watching the well structured videos and sometimes a little vahue videos and working.
@@AS-eu8ej Yeah there are 20 weeks in each semester and they usually cover 1 chapter every 2 weeks. So yeah that's the general idea. Sometimes videos aren't as good as they should have been soo youtube helps alot in that situation. And I am glad that I was able to help!
I want to take admission in university of Landon for llb online course but I'm a poor citizen of Pakistan I can't afford fee but I hope for the best I never give up can you help me please
Thank you for responding. I wanted to know if the diplomas (Bachelor's or Master's Degree) you earn by studying remotely using Coursera are like the one you're doing at London University. Worth the same in the work market as the ones you get if you study physically there? Are there some differences, as I know there's no credit system when you study online?
Hey, I think getting an internship/job totally depends on your skill. Degree these days just affirm the employer that you know the field but mostly they are looking for the skill. I will recommend if you went forward with this degree, then just make sure you do some side courses as well. Work on your portfolio, and skills as much as you can to add value to yourself which in fact help you out to find a good job or internship.
Thank you so much for this information. I want to complete my course in 4years so I should be taking 3 modules per sem. But here I'll be left with 2 modules in level 4 after my first year. Should I be carrying them forward to the second year by taking 2 modules from Level 4 and 1 from Level 5?
Hey, soo yeah you are right, you'll be taking 2 subjects from level 4 and 1 from level 5. I'd highly suggest that if you are starting the session in October then make sure you take intro to programming 1 and discrete mathematics along with one other subject together. Because one condition of picking the level 5 subjects is to complete intro to programming, discrete mathematics and one another subject. And then you'll be able to take level 5 subjects with level 4 subjects.
@@FaizanJavair I'm yet to start so in my first year I should complete level 4 right. Still, I'll have 2 remaining for my 3rd sem. Am I right? also can I contact you over insta please. I've a few doubts.
Hi! I hope you'll answer me too)) Firstly, it is written now (if I'm not mistaken), that you can save up to 40% of study-time if you pass exams proving your knowledge so that you won't need to take some modules - is it true? Are there any ways to reduce my time to get the degree, If I have already been studying maths in other university for almost three years - just haven't finished it due to the war( Secondly, how real is it in your opinion to work while studying there (if i want to study 3 years or even less if possible) taking into account some of my experience in maths and some small experience in coding as well? And thirdly, some people asked, but I didn't cope with finding your answer - am I able to apply to common physical masters degree after this one? Thank you in advance:)
Hey, apologies for a late a reply. Well 40% maybe bit of a stretch tbh. Most of the prior learning that this university considers was from the small certifications. So for example if you have done a Google’s IT certification on coursera then you can get credits for the ‘How Computers Work’ module. And similarly you can do the same thing for 2 to 3 more subjects which although does save you some money as well as time. But it doesn’t exactly translate to 40% of study-time. Well for the second question, there are soo many people doing this degree while also working full-time but they do struggle with managing both the job and education at the same time. Soo mostly they end up taking 3 to 2 subjects per semester to put less burden on them. But if you are good in Discrete Mathematics and some high school mathematics then yes you might easily glide over the topics they teach. But keep in mind that these mathematical subjects are time consuming. However for coding in the start, well it’s not that hard for the first year at least. The difficult bumps up a little in the second year with Object Oriented Programming and some other subjects but if you have an experience in coding then you won’t have issue working with C++ and with some other frameworks. But I would highly recommend going to the World Class REPL for UOL CS (I guess I have the link in the description) and check the subjects they are teaching along with syllabus soo you can see what they are teaching and how difficult they might be. Also yes, you can get into a physical masters degree after this one, many people have gotten into a physical university and got good offers as well even though people have many problems with the administration of this university but in the end they did got a offer. I also have some of my friends doing LLB online from UOL and they too got a good offer from some universities in the UK. So I don’t think you will have issues getting into a masters degree after this. I hope this was helpful and also apologies again for a late reply.
@@FaizanJavair Thanks a lot for such a big and usefull reply!:) Don't care about the time it had taken - we all live our own lives and you are highly appreciated by a huge amount of guys for all the information you give them in your own free time)
They don't really tell you to study. See, no one gonna be on you all the time telling you that you have to complete this certain task. Which means you have to manage your time yourself, as I showed in the video the coursera portal had every week divided soo as each week goes by you have to complete that task which also means that you will be able to access any material from the previous week as well and you can even complete the upcoming week work as well. Now I would suggest giving atleast 2 hours per day every week. Maybe check out my "How to study online" video on yhe channel, I talked about how to divide your time an effectively make a system to study online.
Hey Ahmed! So if you are in Pakistan then IGCSE subjects are mostly just general subjects you take but for A levels I took Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (I didn’t took Computer Science) the pre-engineering subjects are usually enough to open all the doors to CS and to Engineering. Hence I only took these three in A levels. But I guess if you specifically want to go in CS then maybe having the Computer Science subject instead of Chemistry must be fine too. But make sure you know what field you wanna go into and choose the subjects you like. I hope this was helpful!
Could I please ask,do I have to choose either discrete math or computational math or do both? Also how many modules do I have to compete or credit I need in total to graduate with Bachelor of computer science in total?.Thank you
You have to complete all level 4 and level 5 modules, plus 5 subjects from level 6 + 1 elective and the final project in order to graduate. The level 4 and 5 each have 8 subjects. Just remember to pick discrete mathematics and introduction to programming 1 together since they are important one's to pass. DM is usually offered only in September soo yeah pick that. Also, each subject accounts for 15 credit hours. I hope this helps.
@@FaizanJavair I really appreciate it brother.Does it mean I have to choose either discrete math or computational math depending on when I register? Is it possible to fail a module and still graduate? I mean I’m not that great at math and I work full time which is why I am trying to know weather I should take this one at Univeristy of London or the one in open Univeristy. Also do I have to pay monthly fee for Coursera Access or it is covered by the tuition I am going to pay per module at University of London. Thanks a lot
@@sammo3207 hey, soo if you fail a module then you'll need to reappear in the next semester by attempting the part you failed. Now, discrete maths and computational maths are the only two math subjects and fundamentals of cs is like half math. But yeah you need to pass the modules. I have heard good things about open university too maybe yeah look into it too if that suits you. But you have to complete all the subjects in level 4 and level 5. And the reason I recommended taking itp1 and dm together is that they have this thing where some subjects in a certain level are important to pass and discrete maths and ipt1 are one of them. And no there's no monthly fees for coursera. You just pay UOL and that's it.
The webinars are live not the classes. You have no class if you are fully online, you have everything at your disposal which includes recorded lectures, access to course books. However the teachers do have some webinars every 2 weeks to go over something or resolve the queries regarding midterm submissions, other than that you don't have live classes. You can get live classes in a way where you can study with a certified institute where their teachers will have classes regularly and you'll also have the standard UOL lectures and all the stuff at your disposal.
@@Rennyblue Hey, thanks for subscribing! Yeah, regarding the timings it's really random but mostly it's at 12 GMT and yeah around this time they usually conduct their webinars. Sometimes they do it at a different time than this to cover for people who live in a really different time zone. But yeah that's it mostly.
Well it isn’t that flexible because you can only join after you have completed both L4 and L5, basically 2 years. And in the 3rd year you can join the on-campus education (this takes out the study mode from “Online” to physical in the transcript). However you roughly apply during the start of the year for this soo you have to keep in mind of the deadlines they provide for it. There are some people have shifted to on-campus and had a good experience overall but again it can be expensive for international students. I hope this helps!
@@devadhanushp.7359 I really don’t know much about the UK rules and regulations for international students if they are able to get student loans or not. Perhaps this is something you can ask Goldsmiths directly through email.
I'd highly suggest you contact University of London regarding that! They'll be able to guide you much better than me for sure. However, for my admission, I gave the digital copies of my O/A level grades (aka my highschool grades). And everything is done a portal they provide us. Hey, yeah this degree is accredited. However there was one accreditation left that was from the computing department of london since no one had graduated. But this year our first batch got graduated and now it has all the accreditation. I'd suggest going to the world class REPL link and there you can find more information about this.
Hey apologies try using CC with it. I know people have had issues, and yes you can contact me on Instagram. But I'll suggest using the captions to watch this video. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion, I have already shifted to a dedicated mic for my newer videos. I'd suggest opening CC for this one, that would solve the voice issue hopefully.
There are open universities and I think this model follows it. Well, as long as it is accredited, just go for it. And I don't know the mechanism, but reading on an official UK gov't website, this is legit except part that it is not permissed to use the word "University" when issued. Only the name "Goldsmith College". In short, no problem.
As I said in the video, this is something you should go ahead and look by going in the links I have given under the video. Normally we only pay per semester, NOT PER YEAR. I guess it was clearly explained in the video though. Although, just go ahead and check the links which I have given to find out how much you would pay per semester for 4 subjects in your country.
@@blasterxx5691 I pay almost £1200 pounds per semester considering I am taking a institute supported learning so I pay almost the same amount to the certified institute in local currency. Kinda sums up to become £2400 pounds per semester.
Hey, yes, you should go ahead and contact UOL regarding that. There are many people doing this degree from various educational backgrounds. Soo yes, but I'd highly suggest to just go ahead and contact University of London without any hesitation. And good luck brother!
I am not sure what you mean by that. But the degree usual the British one’s are 3 years long. And weightage of grades from the first year of the degree varies. But for this degree I guess it was something between 10% to 20% of the final grade. The weightage of the last year is the highest.
I think no uni will get you the job in specific companies. Unis will teach you the fundamentals, you need to practice and work on experience. However, big companies would be looking for your degrees, unlike working freelance.

@@FaizanJavair but all subjects have these well structured videos?
Thank you for your video and those docs on github. You helped a lot!
The music is too loud, I struggle to distinguish what you're saying.
Hey, I am really sorry for this. Opening up captions might help with this. But if you need any help, feel free to contact me on insta or twitter!
I have been accepted at this university but I wanted to know if I’ll get internship opportunities & career help as I am going for an online degree?
@@ramsriperambuduru7741 yeah you can contact over insta no issues mate I'll guide you there!
Does online mentioned in degree
Hi! I hope you'll answer me too))
Firstly, it is written now (if I'm not mistaken), that you can save up to 40% of study-time if you pass exams proving your knowledge so that you won't need to take some modules - is it true? Are there any ways to reduce my time to get the degree, If I have already been studying maths in other university for almost three years - just haven't finished it due to the war(
Secondly, how real is it in your opinion to work while studying there (if i want to study 3 years or even less if possible) taking into account some of my experience in maths and some small experience in coding as well?
@@FaizanJavair Thanks a lot for such a big and usefull reply!:) Don't care about the time it had taken - we all live our own lives and you are highly appreciated by a huge amount of guys for all the information you give them in your own free time)
Can we transfer credits to the university?
dude I have a question for example how many hours per do they tell us to study and at which hour of the day? hours per day? if so when?
They don't really tell you to study. See, no one gonna be on you all the time telling you that you have to complete this certain task. Which means you have to manage your time yourself, as I showed in the video the coursera portal had every week divided soo as each week goes by you have to complete that task which also means that you will be able to access any material from the previous week as well and you can even complete the upcoming week work as well. Now I would suggest giving atleast 2 hours per day every week. Maybe check out my "How to study online" video on yhe channel, I talked about how to divide your time an effectively make a system to study online.
Hi sir, can you please tell me what IGCSEs and A-levels I need and in which subjects to qualify for this programme?
Are the classes attended live virtually on set times? And if they are, what are the times (GMT)?
The webinars are live not the classes. You have no class if you are fully online, you have everything at your disposal which includes recorded lectures, access to course books. However the teachers do have some webinars every 2 weeks to go over something or resolve the queries regarding midterm submissions, other than that you don't have live classes. You can get live classes in a way where you can study with a certified institute where their teachers will have classes regularly and you'll also have the standard UOL lectures and all the stuff at your disposal.
@@FaizanJavair Thanks for the thorough response.. When are the webinars held usually ?
Subscribed btw !
The background music is loud and so annoying
can you give me details about flexibility of going to goldsmiths after the first year of study
@@FaizanJavair any student loans available for that
@@devadhanushp.7359 I really don’t know much about the UK rules and regulations for international students if they are able to get student loans or not. Perhaps this is something you can ask Goldsmiths directly through email.
Can I not speed run ? I wanna complete it within a year
How to give exams in Pakistan. online or oncampus
I want that totally online, Because it will be flexible for me. 🤭
Excellent dear 👍 😀
Please don't make music so loud.

It is quite an old video. Apologies for this issue, this problem doesn’t exist in the new videos.
@@FaizanJavair Thank you! Great to hear your videos are getting better!
Can you please make a video on Requirements and process to apply
I'd highly suggest you contact University of London regarding that! They'll be able to guide you much better than me for sure. However, for my admission, I gave the digital copies of my O/A level grades (aka my highschool grades). And everything is done a portal they provide us. So, yes it's better contact them, they'll provide all the information regarding your situation. I hope this was helpful!

Is this degree internationally accredited? I.e. can work overseas or apply for jobs overseas?
Hey, yeah this degree is accredited. However there was one accreditation left that was from the computing department of london since no one had graduated. But this year our first batch got graduated and now it has all the accreditation. I'd suggest going to the world class REPL link and there you can find more information about this.

Are the exams still online?
For the CS degree, they are still online but now proctored using Inspera.
your music is covering your voice.
Can I get in touch with you somewhere?
Hey apologies try using CC with it. I know people have had issues, and yes you can contact me on Instagram. But I'll suggest using the captions to watch this video. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Bro. Next time lower the bgm volume when you are speaking.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion, I have already shifted to a dedicated mic for my newer videos. I'd suggest opening CC for this one, that would solve the voice issue hopefully.
Hi, is it possible to finish this degree in 2 years if I work extremely hard or the minimum is 3 years?
Minimum is 3 years. The thing is that you'll only be allowed to take 4 subjects per semester that's why the minimum time to complete is 3 years.
@@FaizanJavair thanks for the prompt response, hope your channel keeps growing, please put more videos of your online CS journey, we love them
@@FaizanJavair Is this degree reliable for the job?
There are open universities and I think this model follows it. Well, as long as it is accredited, just go for it.
And I don't know the mechanism, but reading on an official UK gov't website, this is legit except part that it is not permissed to use the word "University" when issued. Only the name "Goldsmith College".
In short, no problem.
Please explain how much you pay per year
As I said in the video, this is something you should go ahead and look by going in the links I have given under the video. Normally we only pay per semester, NOT PER YEAR. I guess it was clearly explained in the video though. Although, just go ahead and check the links which I have given to find out how much you would pay per semester for 4 subjects in your country.
@@FaizanJavair how much to pay per semester? We can get idea

They teach on Mac or windows ?
How much does first year count?
I am not sure what you mean by that. But the degree usual the British one’s are 3 years long. And weightage of grades from the first year of the degree varies. But for this degree I guess it was something between 10% to 20% of the final grade. The weightage of the last year is the highest.
Hello,
Is it possible for me to work for google, twitter or any other social media with the online degree??
I think no uni will get you the job in specific companies. Unis will teach you the fundamentals, you need to practice and work on experience. However, big companies would be looking for your degrees, unlike working freelance.
