    The pro shops I’ve been to around me…act like they just don’t want your business. Everything they do is bare minimum and they critique every decision you make. I had to beg a shop to change the top hats in my Matthews. I could go on and on about why these local shops are so poorly ran for hours.
    Maybe it’s a good thing, because I’ve gotten pretty good at working on my bow thanks to mfjj. Now that I own the tools, I may never need a pro shop again

      Yep you gotta find the guy that's there because he wants to be there and loves working on bows. Like finding a good barber. Request only that guy and make an appointment if you have to. But nothing beats doing it yourself.

      Mine is awful. I only go to buy bows (even though theyre $25-50 more than other retailers) because they do let you test bows out compared to bass pro. Mine was having a tuning issue and I was told there was too much cam lean that wasnt covered by warranty and couldn't be fixed/tuned properly. Bowtech sent me to a bass pro instead (even though said shop was a bowtech dealer)and the guy changed out the shims and had it fixed in 5 minutes. Then they wonder why they're not getting as much business.

      He owns a small local shop, that he was also raised in. He knows the struggle. He’s seeing mass amounts of orders from across the country and simply trying to push people to their local shops to promote their businesses. He’s not receiving back lash he’s just a decent person

      This is the best comment I’ve ever seen for bow shops. We have 3 shops within 1 hr of me. Every single one of them is owned by people who don’t know how to #1 greet you, #2 guide you in any direction, #3 be honest. you like you’re retarded(which I am, that’s why I’m paying you to jerk off and twist some strings for me). The shop I chose has 1 worker who is super cool and always strikes up a convo and he’s the only guy who works on my bow. Sometimes I want to ask bow shops if they even want my business. I think they may say “nah, we don’t need you”

      I mean, if anything FMJJ helped me realize to support my pro shop more and this summer i have spent most of my money locally compared to other years. The hard thing is not all pro shop's won't stock good hunting equipment, big problem i see a lot. However, i'm lucky as Long Range Archery in Michigan does. I'm very lucky.

    • @Sparky513
      @Sparky513 Před měsícem +1

      I don't mind going to my local shop for some things, ut their prices are WAY HIGHER than online. If they weren't $20-50 more and just few bucks more I don't have an issue with that, but when they're selling a product for $299.99 and every single place online is selling for $249.99, I'm not gonna support local and get f*cked in the process. I'm cool with mark up but getting a** ra*ed I'm not ok with 😂.
      So your statement is 100% accurate, like when I need work done to my bow I do take it to them as they're really good and not one of these oh it's good enough shops, they are the we can get that better untill perfection. Hell I usually give them more than what they ask for and I tip the bow tech as well. Just there store fronts prices are outrageous.

    This is a single-cam bow. Obviously, it's slower than a dual-cam, but there's no need to check the cam timing and it will Release in any environment without any lingering problems. I wish Bear had written down the speed more honestly, but the advantages of a single-cam are attractive enough to buy.

      @saxman7131 it's one thing for a bow to be slow, and quite different to say it's a certain speed and then not come even remotely close to hitting that advertised speed. I can't understand how these companies don't realize these bows will be tested independently and shown on social media/CZcams. You'd think by now that they'd just be honest and let the real speeds be known.

    • @DrannanTheSecond
      @DrannanTheSecond Před 22 dny

      That's not really their market though. They do have some higher end but I feel like most people that buy bear do it because they don't want to spend a grand on a bow. Personally I think that the average person doesn't need to spend a grand on a bow to shoot a deer at 20 yards. If you're not competing or hunting out west where you might make a longer shot, you don't need pinpoint accuracy.

    • @blackbeard0323
      @blackbeard0323 Před 22 dny

      @DrannanTheSecond I can see and appreciate that. I am a Western hunter, and everyone should strive for pinpoint accuracy. Also, if they just removed some of their lower end options and dedicated their energy into fit and finish for their most popular bows, they would be a head.
      I own a Bear Divergent EKO. It shoots as accurate out to distance as my higher end bows. However, there is an obvious disparity between the noise, draw cycle and after shot feel. Clean up your most popular, pay as much attention to them as Darton does to their mid range bows like the consequence.

    • @DrannanTheSecond
      @DrannanTheSecond Před 21 dnem

      @@blackbeard0323 oh gotcha, northeastern here. pretty much all viable shots are within 20 yards. but yeah I can see that! I think they just like to occupy that new hunter space. Think most of us started with some $400 setup (im still shooting mine, just with better accessories). I'd like to check out that whitetail maxx they came out with, seems like the alaskan is a really good mid price bow, just wish it was easier to find as a bare bow and not as a package.

      Just get a Last Chance Archery Vane Master Pro. Left and right, along with 0-5 degree already on one machine. You can buy the 2 other 4 fletch knobs (90 degree and 70x110 degree). All in with all knobs, you're looking at around $420. But you can fletch any arrow or bolt, in any configuration. You can also index your vanes closer to the nock, or forget away. The thing I love about mine is the ability to replace just 1 vane of you shoot through it. You don't have to do the whole arrow again.
      I'm not sponsored by them or anything. I used to use a bitz. After the upgrade receiver, and all clamps you're that deep into your wallet anyway.
      The biggest downside with the VMP side from cost, is the setup. It takes a minute to learn. But if you take the time, you've got the most repeatable, consistent, modular fletching jig. Just my opinion.

      You can shoot the same bow and arrow thru 3 different chronos and get 3 totally different speeds...I take ibo speeds on CZcams with a grain of salt...

    No wonder they dont take shots past 20 yards. SLOW. 20 YR old darton shoots a 500 gr arrow at 260. My prelude shoots a 500 gr arrow at 305.

    With how good the twin cam technology is now, it's going to be a hard sell at those speeds. Bear makes good twin cam setups, I think the THP guys are trapped in their nostalgia a little too much on this one

    I bet the hunting public guys arrows are only going 180 fps if that. Buy a 2 year old Hoyt instead of toy bow

    waste of money-just buy a quality used bow.
    my 2004 bowtech extreme blows that bow away and many othet single cam bows of recent.
    thats a 20 year old bow-i havent been using it since 2006 but shoot it one a while ,its 330plus all day long and quiet too

      @Tughill1699 Agreed. Better to spend the money on a good bow press. Invest in knowledge, get a quality used bow and dial it in

      I agree I had a Adapt not a bad bow for a beginner but after I bought a 2019 Hoyt Helix for $500 bare and hooked it up with high end accessories and damn for a 2019 it is smooth as butter I was shooting 55lb on the bare because my shoulder issues but this bow I’m able to shoot 60lbs all day and it is fast and smooth. Barely any vibration I do recommend buying an older flagship boy there 10x better then the budget bows!
