A New PBT Keycap Manufacturer | Milkway Keys PBT 02 Review

- PBT 02 is an upcoming group-buy by Milkway Keys, a set that is heavily inspired by the Darling in the Franxx series like GMK Darling. Milkyway Keys is a new keycap manufacturer to the international market for cherry profile PBT keycaps-they have already ran several group buys for the Chinese market. The keys are made out of PBT, and the legends are made with dye-sub/reverse dye-sub. In this video we also compare the quality against ePBT, Infinikey, and NicePBT, since they also create cherry profile PBT keycaps. This set will start its group buy in September. The Base Kit, Novelities, and Spacebar Kit will cost you around $100 total, which is significantly cheaper than a GMK set with similar kits.
This keycap set was provided to me for my honest review. I was not paid for this review, and no one saw the video before it went live.

I feel like this set particularly is still not perfect as they are still "new", but great to see more keycap manufacturers/alternative come into the hobby.
Even the current common PBT manufacturers (EPBT, Geekark, etc) are starting to overwhelmed with orders.
Great review! I was on the fence about getting these but now I'm just waiting for gb 😎 nice work, very helpful comparisons, 10/10 content
Great, to-the-point review!! You deserve more subs bud.
Loved the review! The background of your videos is always so satisfying. I got my 015 as well last week, def agree abt the value. And also agree with some of the points, i think the alt and other mods and such are *slightly* thin. It's amazing to see all these new PBT sets, and more and more affordable keycaps. But yeah, nicely done as usual👏
Thank you! My process for selecting lofi is to play random lofi from Stream Beats until I find some that I think fits the video 😂 Should I be expecting a video on 015 from you?
@@jimmynguyen973 Dude it takes me like 30 minutes to find background music LMAO I need to start doing that. And yeah, I had 015 on hand rn but they're sending a fresh set because FedEx roughed up my box and I don't wanna show up a scuffed box haha. School is starting again on the 10th too so really not sure when it will come out😅
@@sviz Yeah finding BG music can be a pain 😅 Oof, sorry to hear about the delivery, but Ill look forward to your video once it comes out!

I was hunting the GMK Darlings but I have totally fallen in love with this set!
Nice review! :)
Still shocked how underrated you are. Love from Finland. Keep up with your good work.
Thanks for the awesome review. May I know how is the texture feel like compared with Leopold stock and ePbt? Or it is smooth on the surface?
Excited for the Mirocards as well!
Thanks for thisss
You're welcome!
PBT Lord looks clean! Still debating if I should get into the GB or not.
What do you think about glube for linearns
hey thats kat great wave ;)
Was just watching your Story of mechanical keyboards, came across your Rukia, do you think you'd be able to do a revisit of the Rukia keyboard and tell a bit more about the board and explain any pros and cons if you have any?
Kind regards,
Lam
Hi Lam, I don't think ill be revisiting my Rukia. I don't really have much to say about it other than it's a high quality polycarb keyboard with a nice and shiny brass weight. I wish it had arrow keys, I would use more if it did (like the Arisu layout). The layout doesn't seem that ergonomic, but it's a nice change from a standard staggered keyboard.
Yeah I love there pbt keycaps tbh and there style also I like sub legends lol
How do I get those caps?
I got the Lilith and I love these keycaps, but what sucks is that I was pulling out the keycaps and Im always very careful, but on the very first day I got them and was pulling em off to put them away, I noticed a small paint chip on my I key. I emailed support and they basically told me I was SOL. It sucks. First set I've ever had this happen with. Paint should not be chipping off so easily.
How’s the warp on the spacebars?
No significant warping on my spacebars, but I'm just one sample size.
do you plan on trying out the new gat yellow pros
Not atm, there are so many new switches these days that its quite hard to keep up with them all.
Man I need this set, such great value too. But I also need to save money so idk if I should lmao
In the end this hobby is just luxury, so if you need to save money do so. Over time things will just get cheaper / better value!
That's true but me being the weeb I am and them including that Mirocard for purchases in the first 48 hours is even more tempting, guess I'll just have to wait and see what my financial situation is like when the gb runs
room tour or setup tour any time soon?
Yup! Planing on that to be my next video
Do you know how much gmk peaches n cream is in the aftermarket/ will be rereleased
I wished there were atleast one competitor to GMK’s abs.
Curious, why would you like more ABS keycaps?
@@jimmynguyen973 Clack > thock
If people jump to PBT will give you shorter production times for GMK at least.
"Short wait times" Now near the end of 2022 their wait times have been around 1 year :(
I prefer hiragana for the sub legends as it's easier for me to read them. Katakana is reserved for romaji which isn't used as much and kinda confusing to type on. Definitely a deal-breaker for me.
Those trays look identical to the ones used by IFK
That's a great observation, I somehow missed this when I was creating this video. IFK also has those same indents on the bottom of the keys 🤔
I too vastly prefer no Japanese sublegends as I can't read/write Japanese (and will probably never get around to learning to either) and it usually makes it look cluttered. Great news that there are more manufacturers popping up though.
Not sure how I feel about how the keys clearly look like (at 2:57) they are just white blanks dyed on only the top and side surfaces though. Hm.
Thanks for this review and introduction though!
Plastic tray? Better than GMK already
ok please help ive spent 5 hours looking for a keyboard i have £150 so like 200 dollars and i want a keyboard that looks like the one your holding 1:36 idc about the keycaps just want a keyboard like that where i can change switches to sound nice and have that layout HELP ME XD
That specific keyboard is a Baka60, US based vendor however paramountkeeb.com/
Watch my review here
czcams.com/video/v3xgBfbhXsQ/video.html
but the layout is a 60% with arrow keys. For an international vendor, you can look at KBDfans
Get a tofu60 case
kbdfans.com/collections/tofu60
Get a 60% hotswap PCB with the layout you want
kbdfans.com/collections/60
This one is 60% with arrow keys*
kbdfans.com/collections/60/products/dz60rgb-hot-swap-custom-keyboard-pcb
A PC/aluminum/brass plate (make sure the layout you want is supported. For example, with a 60% with arrow keys, the brass ANSI plate will not work)
kbdfans.com/search?type=product&q=60%25+plate
*Note that the layout of the DZ60RGB v2 is different from the Baka60, it does not have a dedicated "/?" key.
It would be better, imo, to go with a 65% keyboard
