Morning Wrist Free Mandala Yoga Flow (with qigong and tai chi, 30 minutes)

- A moderate, feel-good 30 minute wrist free yoga practice to help wake up and get energised for the day ahead. This flow features:
✅ A gentle warm up to help wake up the body
✅ Active standing yoga pose flow
✅ Flowing between front and back of the mat in circles (Mandala)
✅ Uplifting, light-hearted, feel good practice
✅ No weight bearing in hands
✅ Suitable for beginners and up
This flow works for wrist and hand injury, and some elbow and shoulder injuries as there is no hands or forearms on the ground at all.
As always modify and adapt so you can enjoy your practice, even if you have an injury or condition 😊

I love the integration of yoga and tai chi/qigong. Yoga is healing and I feel that tai chi/qigong is more intentional healing. Putting them together brings the movement and healing that I love together. Namaste 🙏🏻

In the past I have struggled to get in the mood for morning exercise but as finding time in the afternoons after work is also proving challenging, I made a deal with myself this morning to just tumble out of bed and onto my mat regardless. And what a reward - I had a stunning fiery rising sun to reach for! This practice was the perfect amount of deep soothing stretching and heating up on a cold Tasmanian morning and I know this peaceful glow will stay with me through my day. Lovely way to celebrate this gray morning. Didn’t realize how tight the sides of my body were until I started flowing with your ‘circles’ on the mat. From the hip creases, past the rib cage, to my fingertips, the stretch felt fabulous! Thanks, James! Love your work.

Brilliant for hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulder issues. I find that this flow opens and relaxes the hips. Thanks for your calm manner and relaxing voice. Works well if you do not have the space or a mat to hand.

I thought I would never be able to practice yoga because I can't put any weight on my hands/wrists due to juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (which was diagnosed when I was 9). But because of you, this means of connecting my body with the cosmos has come open to me. Thank you!
