Bimmer zeit, after buying a 2003 auto 530i only a few months after I got a 2002 manual 530i which obviously is gonna be kept.
However, I tried today to connect an auxiliary kit bought from ebay - not the original BMW kit though - but one which is identical with 3 wires.
I connected the other brown & white and black & white from the 2002 530i to the kit I have bought - so 5 wires in total - and plug them in the main connector housing.
It was no change, the display only shown RADIO and CD but no AUX.
I have to mention that on the back of my 2002 manual 530i radio is mentioned : 2002 JUNE
That means that radio won't work in this case because of its too old production date.
Is it any other way to install the MP3 kit in this case ?
I have one solution : swap the 2003 530i radio - which has a 2003 production date - into the 2002 530i ... is it gonna work in this case ?
    Thank you !
