Great seeing folks showing the good ol' G85 some love. I love mine! It came out in 2016 and is still being sold new by retailers. Sure, there's vastly superior cameras, even within the Lumix range but at a massive jump in cost to match. There's plenty to like about the G85: weather sealing, unlimited 4K recording, stabilisation, articulating touch screen, built in wifi for app control, mic port etc... it's a versatile little camera and still good value for money in my view.

I cant bring myself to spend more for a camera because I wont need it and then im spending money to spend money. The only camera I would want on the higher end is Canons C70 because it is literally exactly perfect for my needs but I am not spending more than $2000 for it with a lens. They are asking far to much for it to be viable for me to buy it.

The G85 is still selling today cause its a great camera, the G95 has a few nice features but my issue with it is that the crop makes it awkward for me, I would like to have wider angles for video and trying one I realized that 35mm is about the best your going to get cause of the crop. They gimped it, you have 1080p if you want wide angle but the 4k was the main reason I would have wanted it. the G85 is not as drastically cropped but doesnt have vlog l so it is a bit irritating.
I have two G85 and used both for events..I love that I can record for 4 hrs straight and I can watch around and take photos of the event.. It's a great work horse for me.. Thanks for this video.. Inspires the G85 family.. Keep making more inspiration videos..

As someone who's looking to get their first camera, this camera seems like an amazing budget piece. I can find these used for $600. Even brand new, theyre not too bad, just under $900 with the kit lens. In canada mind you.

Haha G85 was my second camera, the FZ300 was first. I still have both of them but don't use them often since upgrading to S5ii.

Agreed. But still viable images, and can be handy to have. Certainly a beginning!
I believe IBIS works in every video resolution. IBIS is IBIS, its internal, its just there always.
