In this first installment of our Full Floater conversion, we show you the parts we are installing and what it took to tear down this stock 8.8 differential. She put in a fight and did not want to give up the gear!
We show you what we did, what failed, and what worked to get this diff housing ready for a Strange Pro Touring Full Floater conversion.

In the next video we will show you some of the grinding we had to do, where we cut the housing, and measure the inside diameter of the axle tube so we can machine the housing ends.
Stay tuned, this diff is going to be really cool when done. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Thank you for watching and feel free to post up any questions, we will be here to answer them.
So glad I found this video.
Ok. I reallt enjoyed this style of video. Not to many video on a full in depth from start to finish. Please keep making these because this could help someone out.
I personally never had to do a rear end so this was a first for me to see how its done and it seems pretty straight forward.
Thank you for the feedback. We hope to keep them coming and expand on other topics too. We got a lot of product videos to make and this format seems to be the best way for us to do them. Thank you for your support.
Too funny! I've had similar experiences on heavy equipment. Not to that extent, but close. However, there's always a laugh around shorts, bare legs and a torch! OMG! :)
All the videos I found on stuck pinion gears were huge trucks. Have never had it happen on an 8.8. Thanks for watching!
This is super cool! I might be interested in looking into this for my 8.8 front end in my 08 ford expedition
Been looking forward to this one!
Hammer down, we go toe to toe with an 8.8 pinion gear.
Very interesting and can't wait to see the end product. Really interested in the axel mod. Once you sort out the kinks, give us some feed back when it comes to a road course or autocross. Thanks.
We are too. I a have had my eye on this mod since my first PRI trip where I spotted them from an Australian company that was supplying them to the Aussie V8 supercar series. Hoping it makes a good bit of difference for me.
@@PowerByTheHourPerformance Do you remember what it cost back then? Thank-you
@@brunotulliani Those kits were serious money. The parts alone were pushing like 4k
Looking forward to Part 2!
We will be working on that this week!
Been waiting on this one woo hoo
I think this is a cool mod and although its not for everyone, it will showcase what it takes to do it on an 8.8 diff.
Have you done the 2nd and or 3rd video yet?
The second video?? The Playlist doesn't seem to have it?
Asking the same thing. It’s gone
Sorry guys. I left the shop shortly after and the project went on hold. I have now had strange build me a 9inchbwoth the cambered parts for the new suspension going into the car
Lol dam! Never seen one do that before
Us either! was really odd how stuck it was.
Alright how can i obtain this system for my 9" full floater rear for my 1982 Fox Mustang Road racer? There is no way to get ahold of STRANGE?
Anyone know where the other parts are? I really want to see how it turns out because i need to go full floater soon lol
