It’s nice to hear The Rock give respect to Hogan given all the shit he’s gone through over the last couple decades. Regardless of his personal life Hogan was an icon and a great performer.
There is no Rock without Hogan. Hogan laid the groundwork for someone like Rock to be able to become a huge movie star

'Mania X8 was the first pro wrestling event that I saw live as a kid in my hometown of Toronto. Crazy how those in the industry bill the Rock-Hogan match as one of the greatest ever. The beginning where they're just staring at one another, the intensity in the air was palpable, gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

It’s sooooo cool to hear a story from The Great One in a moment that I would never forget….I Still Remember to this Day me as a 12 year old boy waking up for school and only thinking of WrestleMania 18 that morning….Literally Running from the School Bus to go home and watch Mania!!!!!! I was so upset that The Fans inside the Stadium where Booing The Rock and Cheering Hulk Hogan! I remember how happy I was when The Rock got the Win!!!!

Gotta Love Hogan. He called Rock possibly the best person he's ever been in the ring with! Hogan has literally been in the ring with EVERYBODY. In his later years HH has become pure class
When Hogan hulked up the roof blew off it was incredible ..that whole match was amazing it was a twenty minute sustained crowd pop like no other

Rock is always in great shape, but Hogan really came to X8 in fantastic shape. And a lot of people don't realize that he worked this match hurt. He cracked a rib or 2 right before X8. WM X8 really was a pretty awesome WrestleMania.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Rock. I’ll never forget how that match literally had me at the edge of my seat. I couldn’t grab a drink or a chip from start to finish. My heart was thumping and goosebumps were rising as I stared into a portal of pure electricity (my tv haha)! There has never been a more raucous or thunderous reaction in all my years of watching pro wrestling. And then it spilled over onto RAW the next night! Wow. Great memories. I say it was the best match ever. Again, thank you!

As great as Rock vs. Hogan was, I still wish we would've gotten Austin vs. Hogan at Mania instead. The two most popular stars of their respective eras going at it. As I understand it, the only reason that they didn't go at it was that Hogan didn't want to lose to Austin, but then why was he willing to job to The Rock. The match we got was great, but as a fan I wanted to see Austin vs. Hogan more.
I loved that match, I get goosebumps every time I watch it. The two greatest wrestlers of all time.

This match made me, and I pretty sure the wwe business realize how important nostalgia is in the wrestling business. The crowd was bonkers for everything Hogan did. The pop when hulk hulked up after the rock bottom still gives me goosebumps.

Can you please talk on Jericho, Booker T and Hurricane segments? These often fly under the radar but are some of the fondest memories I have of my hardcore fan days. Much respect.
I would like to hear about the hurricane segments also. According to hurricane The Rock looked out for him and did him a ton of favors just because he's a nice guy. Rock gained nothing but helped hurricane out a ton.
That match was one of the greatest because it captured your attention from start to finish and even after the match. The build was great and the two performers were great as well. They don’t have iconic characters like that anymore nor do they have great storylines like that.
I could sit here for hours and listen to wrestling stories from the rock.

It’s amazing how The Rock is able to stay in such great shape and never turned to drugs/booze, considering so many wrestlers in the attitude era especially, can hardly walk today or suffered with addiction. Props to The Rock for keeping his head straight the whole time. He prob realized at age 33 it was time to leave wrestling bc of the increased likelihood of getting hurt. Smart guy.

He not the one having his cell and name called right now. So he realizing moments that mean something to him WWE Still producing rather its live or pre recorded it's still tv Entertainment and a bit of a tabu business however.
