*Please LIKE the video.* What is the best 1440p GPU for you in 2024? What GPU features are you looking for? Are you building or upgrading in 2024? Tell your story in a new comment below!
I told my story to you via email, but you not answered. :(
what do you think of the 5500x3d?
I'm currently not building anything, but I always watch your videos because I appreciate your "matter of fact" way of presenting things. You don't try and be a "infotainer" like LTT, or other tech CZcamsrs. You have no bias, you stick to facts sprinkled with some light humor here and there, but you always focus on trying to provide PC builders with the best bang-for-their buck. As a fellow (mature) PC builder veteran, I appreciate you and this channel immensely. Keep up the great work!
Does it make a big difference to spend a little more to get 3 fans on my 7800xt gpu? Or should I save the $50 and just get the sapphire or asrock?

My condolences to you and the rest of the family Jason. The loss of Xena can’t be anything but tough and I wish you all the love and support
im waiting for the 4080 super to flop so i can buy a 7900 xtx
I think the 4080 Super will be pretty decent value with more performance and cheaper too. But we'll see soon!
Fine if you don’t mind using noticeably more power. I own an RX 7900XT. It performs well, but is power hungry.
Wdym flop? Everyone is waiting for that one, 7900XTX will be obsolete unless they demolish its price to like 850-875.

@@unclej3910The rx 7900 xt barely uses more power than the 4070 ti super so it’s not like there are any alternatives if u want less power draw
Again, good job Jason and Team!! it's great to have someone to decipher all of the current and newest pc hardware . . . the future is going to be crazy with all the new stuff coming out
Glad this was helpful! I know even for me it feels like a lot all at once!
Build my first ever PC this week Jason!
Rocking a 7800X3d coupled with 32 GB CL 30 Ram.
The water cooler is what I spent most of the time trying to figure out...
Updated my bios and changed the ram speed as you have said. Also downloaded amd ryzen latest driver.
Currently waiting on the 4080 super to be released! Thank you for all your work Jason :D
Congrats on the build!!!!!
How hard was it to update the bios and set up the pc after building
I did as well.. i5 13600k, ddr5 5600 ram, 4070 super with MSI force wifi z690 motherboard. Running smooth. Waiting to get a 1440p monitor.
awesome. i also went with a 7800x3d with 32gb Cl30, gaming BEAST

Hey jason, great video as usual! What Ssd’s with DRAM would you recommend these days with the recent price hikes?
Great video, I’m stuck between buying the LG UltraGear 27GR95QE Oled monitor or the Sony inzoneM9, which do you think is better?
Another fantastic video Jason, thanks again.
After building a PC do you recommend changing any of the GPU settings in the AMD/Nvidia software or are GPUs generally good to go right out of the box?
QandA videos are my fav! I think its the pacing and the small rants. Great video!

Thank you would you be open to give a recommendation would it be better to start with the new rx 7600xt or just go ahead with getting the 7800xt?
Heya, Jason! Commenting for the first time after lurking for a few months, and doing so from my new build! Your videos were a big help since it had been 8 years since the last build. Went from a 6600K with a GTX970 to a 7800X3D with a RX7800XT. Cheers! 😎👍

Hello, big fan of your content. Wonder if you could help me with a pc concern. Last year in March I have bought a gaming pc from Pc Specialist, Odin Pro R70. From the start I have had problems with playing online games. CoD is not connecting at all, WoW is crushing all the time. All drivers are up to date and internet speed is constant 120mbs. I have tried everything. Any ideas/ advises please? Thank you.
The thing I love about you Jason is how upbeat and enthusiastic you always are.
Thank you! Hope you keep enjoying the content
@@PCBuilderChannelAlways, and it was very helpful in 2022 when I built this PC as I had not built a PC since 2014 (and not a personal PC since 2008)
Jason, do you have any footage of these games that get limited by VRAM on the 4070 Super? I was just running CP2077 Phantom Liberty, RT Psycho, DLSS Q and frame gen on. 70-80 fps in a heavy fight scene in 1440p, and I was using 10.5 to 11.2gb of VRAM. Similar story in Avatar Ultra settings.
I'm shopping for a card and did research by looking up gaming comparisons of the 7800 XT vs 4070 Super and I had the same question here in this comment section. The reviewer made a claim that the 7800 XT with 16GB could do things in games that "crush" the 4070 Super, but I haven't seen ANY evidence of that in videos with all kinds of settings turned on including Ray Tracing and DLSS (even in 4k, but I focus on 1440p). From what I've found so far, the 4070 Super is simply the better card in every way and the better value when gaming with a focus on "Quality" (RT+frames) for $100 more. The performance with the most difficult settings turned on pushes the value of the 4070 Super above a $100 difference in my opinion. But if you're just going to game without the quality goodies turned on then either card will do fine and probably the 7800 XT would be the better value if running just standard settings. You would only notice a difference between these if all the frame-killing quality settings were turned on.
Jason what do you think about top 6xxx series atm. I can buy used 6800xt (for 400$ and 1y shop guarantee) which is almost same as 7800xt (for 600-640$) or exen 6950xt for something around 550-600$). Is there any reason to go with new gpu atm when we have good pricing for those used cards?
7800XT all the way. Much less power consumption and 10% faster as 6800XT and only 5% slower as 6950XT.
So I’m considering buying a 4060ti 16gb at about $510 see there any cards Below that price that perform the same or even better? (White version)
Hey Jason, thank you for the vids. I live in the UK and have been using your vids to determined my first PC build. I plan to get the RX 7800 XT but was wondering if there was much differences within the models or if there is any you recommend? The price different here between some models is like £50.
No Jason has said there aren't big differences between models.
@kelley09162 thanks man 🙏🏽
You won't see a huge performance gap between them, but there will be a pretty large difference in cooling and noise, if you want one of the cheaper ones, the ASRock Challenger is my pick, or you would be far from stupid for paying an extra 30-40 bucks for the Nitro+ for the great cooler, low noise, and looks.
What's you perspective on Ray Tracing compared to previous Nvidia proprietary tech like PhysX and Hairworks/Gameworks? Those kind of fizzled out and didn't catch on. I think this will hold a bit longer because it has to do with lighting but I don't think it'll last.
I really hope the 8000g series is the beginning of the end of 1080p gpu cards. Thank you for all you give to the community Jason and team.
Why would it end lol
We saw them at CES. Don't hold your breath as you need DDR5 and the APUs are too expensive IMO. But once they don't sell and they slash prices (like with the Ryzen 5500), I think it could fill that niche for sure.
@@imyournme6632 same reason we don't have 720p cards
@@imyournme6632 The 1440p will be the "norm" in 5+ years hopefully, when that happens the lowest entry level card will have to be able to handle 1440p. Because of that 1080p cards will no longer exist.
@@toad7395 Probably a bit more than 5yrs but yeah, 1440p is already 20% of all PC gamers and rising quick.
Jason, what would be a good boot drive for a pc?
I've got a cruical p3 gen 3 4tb drive, but I've heard I should get a Dram drive instead?
Depends on what you are doing. Gaming, you won't notice a difference, really. If you are say, video editing and moving huge files, you may want to look into a better drive. I just grabbed the cheapest size to price m.2 available. You could run a sata ssd and you might see maybe a second more of delay? Tops? If you are just gaming...no reason at all.
Hello Jason, I am building my first PC, I have almost complete build exepct GPU, I wanted to hear your opinon on 6800xt vs 7800xt?
From what I read, 7800xt is succsessor of 6800 (non xt version), and some benchmarks shows that 6800xt done better in like ten games, not by much 5-10%, they say 7800 has less cores, althought on other hand I read people say that 7800xt is new technology and architecture maybe with drivers update in year or two, results on benchmark could change...
There is also price thing, my budget is 500-600e for GPU, cause I would like to pair it with 2K monitor (it would be shame not to, right?) but those are really expensive in my country from 250e onwards, some that you mentioned in your video are like 350e (Asus or similiar, i forgot names now), so ideally I would like to spend 500-550e but max 600e on GPU.
The 7800xt better models such as (nitro, dragon) are 580-600e, while 6800 could be in range 500-550e (XFX Merc) if it is available since its out of stock, so sometimes its even more then 600e on some places. Since I probably wont update it soon(3-5 years) I really want to make best possible choice.
My PC is for coding and programing(Machine Learning and Deep Learning) + also to be good for gaming (not priority), also I am not person who plays newest FPS games (maybe sometimes) mostly strategy games like Total War.
This is my build in case it helps for advice:
Case: NZXT H6 FLOW (up to 365 mm (14.37) inches in length for GPU) so it should be fine with 68 and 78 hopefully.
PSU: SEASONIC Focus GX 750W ATX 3.0, 80+Gold (ATX3-FOCUS-GX-750) Gen5, apart from dragon model 7800xt which said recommended 800W all others should be fine.. (p.s. its I think at least B rated on your list :D)
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700 with Wraith Prism cooler included
RAM: G.Skill Flare 2x16GB DDR5 6000 CL 36 (maybe not the best choice but what to do)
Motherboard: TUF GAMING B650 +Wifi
Storage: Samsung Pro 1 tb SSD
THANKS for reading and really looking forward to your reply and advice as in all your videos
Will unreal engine 5's lumen make ray tracing obsolete? And how demanding is lumen on gpus? Cheers.

just how I like to enjoy the hobby.
For my most recent sff build I need a card that is white and below 270 mm but I couldn't find a 7900xt that's fits the description and the 4070 ti super in Australia is priced at $1000 USD.
Sad times.
Yes, definitely sad times. From a fellow Aussie here.
For the resolution 5120x1440 (ultrawides) do i consider 4k benchmarks or 1440p benchmarks? I’ve heard that the 5kp res tolls close to true 4k, is that so?
Which GPU would you opt for - purely gaming 4080+ price ranges Are out of bounds!
I'll be waiting for your next "best high end 1440p gaming pc", I've been waiting for so long, I still game with a gtx 1070, I really need that upgrade.
Just recently built my new PC with 990 Pro SSD's (1TB for Windows & Work Apps + 2TB for Games and entertainement).
Got the 2TB one for 160$ on Amazon, which is (or was) the same price as the 980 Pro. Sometimes you really have to compare the prices and maybe you'll get lucky with some pricings!
Hey Jason! so glad I found your channel, im having a bit of a dilemma when it comes to my upgrade path at the moment lol. I was recently gifted a RTX 4060, but I'm currently using a i5 9400f processor and the most my motherboard can support is a i9-9900. As I'm on a budget, I was thinking of swapping to a B550M Pro 4 Motherboard and putting in a Amd 5 5600x as an "upgrade". Would love your input (or anyone's really) on if this is even a worthy upgrade? I'm just currently not happy with the frames ive been getting with current setup.
Absolutely for the 5600x and B550m pro4.
Yes good upgrade. Just note the 5600 Non-X is also good if you want to save a little.
Currently have an i3 12100f and RTX 2080 and play at 1440p. Starting to notice the 2080 cant handle 60+ frames at 1440p ultra settings on the games I play and with newer games coming id like to maintain that. What components do you recommend upgrading to? Thanks
If your board can handle it, a discounted 12600K might be worth it, or even 13600K.
@@PCBuilderChannel I have an ASUS Prime H670-Plus D4
Hi Jason, I'm buying a ASRock 7900 GRE challenger for around $475 is that a good deal?
Yes
Great Video, I thought I was going crazy about trying to decide wether to get a 7800xt or a 4070 super for the build I want this year, you helped me to clear the thing up since it's true That i'ts just not worth to spend more money, (100+ $ in my case) solely because of DLSS3 and a slightly better performance. 7800 XT it is!!! Thanks jason!
Glad I could help! I just think the 7800 XT is the safer bet with 16GB and $100 cheaper.
I mean DLSS3 is not just slightly better lol. It’s insanely better. Watch the DF videos. When a game has access to DLSS 3, it’s insane the fps it adds to your game. It makes AMD cards obsolete in my opinion. Like I cannot even consider AMD because of how far behind they are in this tech department. DLSS 3 is such a massive advantage for Nvidia.
@@dwurgy. yeah no what I meant was that in pure raw performance without rescaling technologies the 4070 is not that far from the 7800XT and the difference it's definitely not Worth 100+$ even with the better tech.
@@PCBuilderChanneland what about now that they are at exactly the same price?
Do you thing Ryzen 8000G cpus could handle WoW well? I'd be fine if I could live playing the game okayish and upgrading later
Hey @jason, since I'm building my first PC so I'm really confused that should I go with RTX 3090 or RTX 4090 ti super!
4090 is the top right how. 3090 is the end of the last gen and hard to find these days. You might want to start with our “how to pick pc parts 2024” video. It might help you decide what you actually need for your budget and build goals
I’m probably gonna get an msi gaming x slim 4070 ti super to match the white pc I have. Any input or suggestions for or against this gpu? Btw absolutely love ur vids. Extremely helpful and good content.
It's a good GPU though if you're using it for Gaming the White ASRock 7900XT is also good.
Yeah, I really like rtx and dlss but idk how often I would actually use it. So I’m kinda indecisive atm. Thanks for the suggestion.
Jason,
love the info you put out. Need your wisdom. I have an older system on a Tuff X570 board running AMD 3700x and 5700xt with 32g ram at 3200 mhz. I was wondering if I should spend the money to upgrade my mother board and CPU and keep the video card for now or just upgrade my Video card. Microcenter has a 7800x3d with B650 mother board and memory on sale for 500 bucks.
I really don't want to spend my money on a 5800x3d. Then wait for GPU prices to come down. I am an older person and only play the game Tanks not really anything else. Any info will help me on my decision. V/R Bill
That would be a big imbalance if you do that.
You'd want to upgrade your GPU. You can always upgrade your CPU later to the 5700X3D or go AM5 if you prefer.
Thanks for the info
Can I buy and use the windows 11 key even if I’m from the UK?
i have a qt. i have b450 tomohawk wifi with 2060 rn went from 7800x3d 4090 to that. I wonder can i use 6700xt or 5700xt as a gaming card and put 2060 second alot to stream at nvenc? i cant sold 2060 for 200 dollar so i was gonna keep until it broke.
Hello!! This is my first time commenting! :) I was wondering if a SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB GDDR6 works well with Ryzen 7 5800x3d processor? I am trying to build a PC for video editing, possibly some gaming, and I've been overwhelmed with all the information out there haha!! So far I've gotten the processor only! I was looking at rtx 3080 but it's very expensive where I'm from, or unavailable :( I would maybe even consider sapphire's rx 7800xt, but unsure because of pricing. Also, would you be kind to maybe recommend some good motherboards or RAM for this pairing? I would try to cut down on budget where I can! Thank you in advance, I really enjoy your videos!!!
Yes that's fine.
Just note if video editing in Premier Pro Nvidia GPUs are better, but if using DaVinci AMD GPUs are better.
What country are you from? If it has a PC Part Picker I can try and pick out some parts for you.
I have a new build coming in a couple of months and have been putting my parts selection together but stuck on GPU. I want to stay away from $500 or higher cards as i don't play graphic intense games. Im looking to get the highest FPS at 1440p. Im considering the 3060TI or 3070 or the AMD7700XT. what's your opinion
7700XT is the best option of the three but it's overpriced compared to the 6700XT and 7800XT.
The 6800 is another good choice if still available when you build.
What are your thoughts on encoding performance between the 7900xtx and the 4080?
I was looking for answers on this, vid dropped at a great time xD I'm hoping for the 4070 price to drop while getting my other pc parts first, thank you for the info!!
Glad that timing worked out! Happy shopping and good luck with the build :)
Jason is the MIchael Jordan of Pc building. Jason, is there any reason to buy 7800xt over 6800xt? thanks!
Better streaming support and easier availability. 7800XT still has plenty of nitros and powercolors around so you can get better performance from overclocking.
Is there any possibility you will do a best monitor 2024 for the EU market?
Youre great at what you do. I'm glad youre in a field that will always have constant work and content. I wish you, your wife and all your furbabies the best!
Thank you so much! We're growing fast and appreciate all the support! :)
Question about SSD. For gaming and maybe some streaming, SN770 2TB (100e) or SN850X 2TB (150e)? I know SN850X is better but is it worth it for only gaming?
No. Jason has said SSD speeds don't matter much for Gaming.
I was waiting for the 4090 price to drop back to normal, but now I'm waiting to see if the 4080 Super is good enough to get instead. (For a 5950X system)
You will be greatly CPU bottlenecked.

Excellent video... Jason I hope you are graceful for helping me and special mr. Bear as well.
Thank you! Glad we could help and Mr. Bear says hi!
@@PCBuilderChannel Hi Mr. bear is nice to see you 😄
When you talk about power supplies you always reference the cult list. I find it to be very helpful. The question I have is, are there similar references for other types of components? I'm very picky about build quality and reliability, and I have no problem spending more money to get a better product. Things like which brands can trust and specific recommendations would be very helpful.
I game 1080p on a 4070 (well, right now it's on a iGPU, awaiting RMA case), and I know it's maybe an overkill gpu, but it's a nice enough monitor and I'm not really hooked on buying new when I have something that works.
That said, I'm also a bit size limited. Are there good 25" 1440p monitors out there?
On PC Part Picker there's 1. The KOORUI GP01. It's a 24 inch 1440p Monitor.
My 5800x3d/7800xt combo is stellar.
CPU is constant 4.45ghz
GPU has hit 3ghz in gta5 max settings.
My theme is ROGxCORSAIR and I’m only three parts away from finishing. 2 Corsair m.2s and a ROG GPU.
hello, i have a question as a first time pc builder. I am heavily debating between the 7800xt or 7900xt. Im very interested in the 7900xt for gaming but im someone who really wants value for money and i dont like the price atm, especially since in europe the card is about 1000$ (euro equivalent). 7800xt is far cheaper, BUT i do want at least 100+ fps at 1440p in most if not all games. I'd be willing to save longer for 7900xt if it means the card lasts me a few more years since it has 20gb vram vs 16, so i really dont know which one is more worth getting. Would the 7900xt be worth the higher price, or should i just get the 7800xt? Im planning to also get a 7800x3d
Either option would be good as both are good 1440p GPUs.
Both are good but if pairing with the 7800X3D I'd tend towards the 7900XT
How would be the best way to contact you. Questions about upgrade or new build. Thanks😊

Hey! I was going to get a new graphics card for my 1440p monitor and i was wondering if i need to upgrade the whole pc or just the card to 7800 xt. I have a 1070 with an i7-8700k. 32 gb or ddr4 and a new ssd.
With that old of CPU you should probably update that too but Case, RAM, SSD should be fine. Maybe PSU is too but if that's as old as the CPU maybe that would be good to upgrade as well.
that would give you a pretty big bottleneck. I'd consider upgrading your platform as well.
hi i wanted to know the best gpu around 500 usd , i play at 1440p and i like higher frames , also have a ryzen 5600g and in the future im plannig to buy a ryzen 7 5800x3d
I just commented on the last video you uploaded, and now I see this lol. I would love some more infos on power consumption, especially when these higher end GPUs like 7900 XT/ XTX or 4070 TI Super or 4080 Super are not in gaming mode. I read alot that, especially when you use 2 monitors with different resolutions/refresh rates (1440p 165 hz and an old 1080p 60 hz in my case), the idle power consumption goes through the roof. Some say drivers fixed that, others say it didn't. Very scare info about that on the net and energy prices are at an all time high in my region. I got a budget of 2k Euros and I don't wanna get shafted by buying a product that some people say draws easily 100 watts when on idle, even more when in office mode because the VRAM cannot clock down because of the different refresh rate/resolution. 40 cents per kw/h forces me to look at this from a different angle. I have been consuming your videos alot for the last couple of months and you are helping out alot. Thank you for your work Jason!
That is a very interesting question and I haven't seen power testing on multiple monitor setups. We aren't set up to do power testing, but I'll keep my eye out for anyone doing that.
Nvidia GPUs are more power efficient, go for the 4070ti super. Could also pick up a double fan model and undervolt it to save on that electricity bill.
They fixed the idle 100w in a new adrenaline driver now it consumes 25w i think on idle you can find the fix on yt
Hi Jason,
Currently thinking of 3 possible options for a 1440p build, could you advise which one might be better.
7600 + 7900XT (Amazing rasterization but power hungry and brought to its knees in UE5 titles and forced RT titles).
7700 + 4070Super (DLSS3.5 and Pretty good rasterization, pushes the budget up slightly and the 12GB VRAM worries me, would also require an ATX3.0 PSU which adds more).
7800X3D + 7800XT (Great GPU for the price, great OC capability and CPU is fantastic but 7800XT seems to be showing its limitations in recent UE5 titles).
Any help would be huge thanks
IMO 7600 with 7900 XT. Should give you max FPS by a good margin, and in the future you'll drop a 9800X3D in there when it is time to upgrade.
@@PCBuilderChannel Lovely thank you, was worried about it bottlenecking in some games but AM5 upgrade path means I can just upgrade like you said!
What is better:
I3 14100f or I5 12400f?
Please?
Depending on your market 2nd hand last gen cards have changed very little in price over the last 6 months, if not increased sloghtly. That mining-craze cooldoown might be longer than we wish.
This is my first time building a pc mainly for gaming at 1440p or 4k and I want it to be under £1000 are all these parts okay? and right now both 4070 and 7800XT are about £500 which one should I go for ?
ASRock B760M Pro RS/D4 WiFi Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard- £121.40
Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor- £124.97
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory- £35.99
Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive- £66.22
Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB Video Card- £514.99 or- Radeon RX 7800 XT £500
Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower Case- £65.47
Corsair RM650 (2023) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply- £74.98
And that's all come to around £992
Yes that's okay though if a 5600 CPU and a B550 Motherboard are cheaper than the 12400F and B760 Combo do that instead.
As for the GPU I would go 7800XT.
It’s kinda crazy how there wasn’t really any AMD PC’s at CES 2024.
What would be best version of the RX 7900XTX to get and What manufacture do you recommend? Is the "Sapphire 11322-01-40G Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Vapor-X Gaming Graphics Card with 24GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA 3" worth the price difference from other versions of this card?
Jason has said there aren't big differences between the different models.
So you don't need to spend extra to get the Sapphire Nitro if you don't want to.
You won't see a huge performance difference, but the main gaps will be in noise and reliability.
I have a tuf gaming x570 plus motherboard. I now have 16GB of RAM, I want to buy 64GB, what sticks do you recommend? please give me a few to choose from. thank you and best regards. good job

hay if i were to get the 7800xt, which brand should i choose ? like between asus, gigabyte, sapphire and powercolour
they can range from 130$ price difference so whats the main dif between them? should i just get the cheapest one?

Paired with that monitor I personally would go up to a 7900XT, which would mean you would need a 7600 instead as a 5600X would bottleneck that GPU. Normally the 7800XT is great for 1440p but with this extreme of an ultra wide I'd go up. Unless you only play easy to run titles like Fortnite.

I have to admit these gpu’s cost more than my whole computer setup, rocking the rx6600 and I’m ok with it. I still like to watch but I’m cheap and find it insane to spend this much on a gpu.

how does the 7800xt surpass the 4070 or 4070 super in rt performance because of vram , when games that overcome the 12 gig vram w rt cant run on the amd gpu whit more then 20 fps?????
For ray traced games at 1080p should I buy a 4060 ti 16gb or better a 7800 xt?
Question in regards to the 4070 Super vs 7800XT / 12GB vs 16GB VRAM. This reviewer makes out like 12GB is inferior vs 16GB in performance or "not enough" but in every benchmark video I've looked up the 4070 Super is flat out better than the 7800XT and there is never a single benchmark setting I've seen yet where 12GB "isn't enough". So, can someone please tell me, under what settings and what games will the 12GB of VRAM be causing performance issues?
Well i am getting 4070 ti s as an upgrade from 3060 ti, for 1440 P gaming, it hits the spot for me as it is about twice more power full and i am willing to Pay 11%(local prices) premium over 7900 xt for Ray tracking and dlss, but not for additional 25% on top of this for 4080s.
I think it's good GPU, congrats on the upgrade!
I'll be waiting for the 50 series to be introduced before I decide which 40 series card to get - 4070 Super Ti or 4080 Super. If they end up within a hundred bucks of each other at that time, the decision will be easy.
Got lucky and grabbed several 4tb Gen 4. NVMEs for under $200 (WD black, Samsung, and Nextorage), respectively - all credit to you and the community alerts ❤
Nice, I just hope that the SSD price hikes end soon cause my friend is gonna build a pc in May and his budget is really pushing it with the 20$ price rise of MP33. (Btw he has a 600$ budget and this is the parts)
CPU: R5 5500
GPU: RX 6600
RAM: SP 2x8 CL16 3200
SSD: MP33 1TB
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K
Case: Bitfenix Nova Mesh M

Appreciate that! You're absolutely right!
Glad its helpful!
In Cyberpunk, with an RTX 4090, all settings high, DLSS, with ray and path tracing on, I get 100+ fps. Not sure about your info here at 11:22. Maybe that is without DLSS?
Was back and fourth between the 70 super and the 7800xt after this I am going to go 7800xt . Little worried about having issues on it but I also see a lot of happy people rocking this card. Thanks

@PCBuilderChannel Always appreciate your advice. Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!
I am about to do a major upgrade. My existing system is an Intel i7-2600K with a 1660 Ti that I got a few years ago as a stopgap to replace an ancient one that was no longer supported. This system has served me well and will continue to do so as a secondary system, but it is struggling with a few things. Cities: Skylines, Baldur's Gate 3, and No Man's Sky are playable but are pushing it past its limits. I'll get a minimum of 64Gb of RAM this time since some of the simulation games are memory-intensive, and this should be more than I'll need in the near term. Memory is cheap right now, so I might as well go overboard on it. My research this time around, which includes videos on this channel and others, has pushed me in the direction of AMD. I have settled on the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and the graphics card will be the RX 7800 XT or maybe a step up from that depending on how my budget shakes out. I use Linux exclusively, and AMD plays better with Linux by supporting the open source Mesa drivers, while I've found that the proprietary NVidia drivers are a pain and their Linux software isn't that great. I'm still at 1920x1080, and I don't play AAA action games that require extremely high frame rates, so this new system will be overkill, much as the old system was back in its day, but this means that I won't have to mess with it again for a very long time. 1440p probably will happen the next time I replace my monitor simply because that will likely be the typical resolution for decent monitors. I have no interest in ever going to 4K for the size of monitor that I prefer to use. Fortunately, I have a good 4Tb SSD that I bought a few months ago to alleviate some problems in my old system (and I had to buy an adapter card for it). I'll move that to the new system, but Micro Center has some very good prices on 4Tb SSDs right now, so I'm tempted to get another one or two if I have some budget left over. I'm a data hoarder, so more storage is always better. Regardless of the SSDs, I'll get a huge spinning drive for the stuff that doesn't require speed.
This channel and others, and some online articles, seem to have come close to a consensus that the main parts that I've chosen are among the best choices for a higher end 1440p system, which is what I determined that I should get in order to have a system that is overkill now but will have good longevity. (I don't like to tinker with computers - I like to put a system together and not touch it for years.) I am looking forward to it. If I can get all the miscellaneous accessories narrowed down, I'll be going to Micro Center this weekend to buy the parts, and if I decide to be lazy, maybe I'll pay them to put it together.
Best GPU for 4k Video Editing ( Adobe Premiere Pro, Dalvinci, Edius ) not for game, not for 3d rendering , Please suggest us, We have Intel 14700k CPU, is intel Ark 770 is good or nvidia
Yes the Intel A770 is good, but not sure it can do 4K.
is 4k really worth it over 2k, you will get lower fps, you need a more expensive monitor and possibly lower the graphic settings or spend a ton of money for a good gpu, does the visual experience that you will get justify all this?
Does the rx 7900 xt work good when it comes to graphics design and content creation?. Because I'm thinking of buying ine but i want to know which one would be better between the 4070 ti or the rx 7900 xt.😊
So Adobe works better on Nvidia if you'll be using any of their products.

So im doubting between the 7800xt and the 4070. Both are at generally the same price (7800xt is like 30 euros cheaper). Im planning to play Single player AAA titles at high settings on a 1440p monitor. I’ll probably go for a ryzen 5 7600 cpu. Which one of these would you recommend? Also would you go for a 7600x for 20 euros more?
get 7600x and get 7800xt , nvidia is like 10 to 12% faster than amd in ray tracing , but that 12 gb vram on 4070 limit card useful life , as for frame generation , i have 6950xt at 1440p and personally never needed it , i dont even use upscaling. if you buying card for ray tracing then go for 4090 otherwise dont bother with ray tracing stuff it is still in early adoption stage
Im using a 7600x cpu with 7800xt AMD rig. Its a beast at gaming. And AMD just announced AFMF frame gen working on any dx11-12 games so
@@arnoldshmitt4969yeah I dont care about rt at all. Dont know about dlss tho, i mean those extra fps are always nice bc i dont really care about looks, more about having a stable frame rate when playing single player games. But i think imma go with your recommendation
@@1vaultdwellerAFMF looks alright, but it isnt that great bc of the added latency and the inability for it to work on fast movement
@@jojobok4405 All frame gen solutions have huge latencey, as for DLSS vs FSR, i think the difference is pretty small, i currently haven a desktop with an AMD GPU and a laptop with an Nvidia GPU, i directly compared them, and frankly i could not tell the difference most of the time, DLSS was certanitly better, but even at FSR's worst moments, it was not THAT much worse.
You also have to consider something else when talking about these two, FSR works on everything and always will, whereas DLSS is exclusive to Nvidia, and more importantly when the 50 series comes out the 40 series will not gain access to newer versions of DLSS as Nvidia artificially prevents them from being able to use them, but the 7800XT will be able to use all versions of FSR even after the next AMD gen, and since both of these techs are constantly getting better, it may be the case that in a few years, the FSR on the 7800XT is better than DLSS on the 4070 because the 7800XT gets newer versions of FSR, and the 4070 does not get newer versions of DLSS.
You also have to consider that these don't work in all games and you don't always have the option of both, i know somebody personally (and i have seen some people online with a similar situation) who have to use FSR most of the time even when they have an Nvidia 40-series GPU because the games they play only have FSR and not DLSS.
These also are not things you always use, on both of my systems most of the time i have both off because with either, a lot of the time the performance you gain, is not worth the visual quality and frame consistency you lose by using them
Well, I am having a hard time as I am such a tightwad. 2-3yrs back I bought a whole new computer tuf x570, ryzen 5, 35gb ddr4 3200 ram, and then cheaped out on the Graphics card thinking I would get one later so I have been goofing around on like a super small 580gpu [because it is what I had before and it worked] 'sort of'. I just ordered the 7600xt and now am having second thoughts and that I should just get the 79000xt 20g. Am going to update the GPU to Ryzen 7 5700x later. Will the 7600xt do... or do I just need to stop being a tightwad and get the 7900 so it will last more than a year or two?
I am currently playing X4 foundations which isn't even supposed to run on the rx 580x apparently but does on mid 1440p just really crappy.
I am more worried about the overall later on ramifications of cheaping out with all the new stuff coming out. I just cannot play stuff in 1080p...
I am currently just waiting on the 7600 to be delivered and then return it as it looks to be on the low end, or should I not and am I mistaken? I mean, anything has to be an improvement from the rx 580, right or is the 7600 going backwards because its new crap from covid times....
I want the card to at least last 3 years and there is a big cost difference between 7600 at like 370 and a 7900 at over 1k. I really don't need to play any of these new kid games... Balder's Gate 3 is about as far-fetched as I would do as that is just old school D&D stuff. I don't want to play Star Citizen or even that newer one Starfield or any console title and I wouldn't be caught dead playing Fortnite.
I am kind of getting worried that I have to scrap this whole rig and do AM 5 at this point
What CPU do you currently have? Also for CPU upgrade I would look at the new 5700X3D over the 5700X.
Also why not look at the 7800XT? It's in-between the 7600XT and 7900XT in price.
@@kelley09162 I have to stay with AM4 socket as the new ones AM5's are a little wonky. I currently have an older Ryzen 5 3600x.
