Hi attorney. Napakalaking tulong po itong channel ninyo para sa amin. Meron po akong kaibigan na dating Filipino pero ngayon ay Naturalized US citizen na. Gusto niyang mag aral ng college dito sa Philippines. Ano pong advice ninyo? Need pa ba siya magbalikan sa US after ilang months?
Pwede cya pumasok sa Pinas on balikbayan visa. He will be given 1 year stay. Before that year ends, he must leave the country. He can use that rime to have a vacation/ visit his parents.

Foreign citizens can acquire land in the Philippines by way of inheritance. So, dual citizenship is not a requirement.

Hi there attorney, I would like to point out RA 8762 which is known as Retail Trade Liberalization Act of 2000 (RTLA), section 4 and I quote :
“Section 4. Treatment of Natural Born Citizen Who Has Lost His Philippine Citizenship. - A natural-born citizen of the Philippines who resides in the Philippines shall be granted the same rights as Filipino citizens for purposes of this Act.
I am a US citizen and I am a former Filipino. Would RA 8762 allow me to start a business in the Philippines the same way a Philippine citizen would? Your clarification is greatly appreciated
Hi. In my friend's experience (and others), you may be able to conduct business in PH as a former Filipino BUT it's easier if you're a dual citizen. If you present a US passport for govt transactions, you may be asked for other docs. While if you're a PH/ dual citizen and you present a PH passport as your main ID, there are fewer questions/ requirements.

My Norwegian father who is permanent resident of Phil wishes to transfer certain assets (gold bullion) held outside of the Phil, to me. Will I need to pay 6% estate/donor/transfer/inheritance tax to the Philippines?

Hi. If your husband and kids are dual citizens, then I suggest that they all go to a Bureau of Immigration office to fix the situation. Bring their dual cit docs & foreign passports.

Depende po. Ano po ang citizenship nila when you were born? If one of them was still a PH citizen, was a Report of Birth filed for you at a PH consulate?

Hello po US citizen po ako dahil sa father at andito ako sa pinas naka tira. may US passport ako never pa akong naka alis. kung sakaling aalis po ako ng pinas anonang kailangan kong kunin para maka alis? may naka usap kase ako same kami ng situation kumuha lang daw po siya ng ph passport pwede na mag labas pasok sa pinas.
Hi. Were you born after 1973? If yes, then you were born a dual citizen. Since you were born here in PH, then you must have a PH birth certificate. You can use a PSA BC to apply for a PH passport. I think that it's best if you have both passports - present both at PH Immigration. I know of a similar case - she only had a US passport and she was asked to pay huge fines for overstaying in PH when she attempted to leave PH (but she was born & raised here).

No. He/she has to renounce the other citizenship.
@@YourLawyer Sabi po nila once you renounce Philippine citizenship to become citizen of other country ay di na daw po pede for a public office kahit na renounce po ang other citizenship. salamat po.
