- These Black Bears will be in our care for about a year, until they are old enough to be released back into the wild! For more information on Black Bear cub rehabilitation, please visit our website at www.wildlifece.... Because bear cubs are closely bonded with their sow in the wild, the young cubs are allowed interaction with a limited number of caregivers during bottle-feeding. The cubs do recognize and bond with these caregivers. Other staff, students, and volunteers are not allowed to see and interact with the bear cubs, to ensure that the bears don't get used to many different people. The number of people who care for the bears seems to be an important key to successful rehabilitation, which is why no one other than the three staff rehabilitators sees the cubs.

Bear cubs are the cutest things in the world. It’s on my bucket list to get to play with one of these. 5 minutes is all I want, lol.

I didn’t know it was ok for wildlife rehabbers to be so closely engaged with bears like that.
Won’t they imprint on humans when you play and bottle feed them like that? You don’t wear an outfit or anything so that the bears don’t grow up feeling comfortable around human presence?
@@DorisDay-lw4xsI wasn’t saying they didn’t know what they were doing, lady. I was just wondering how their actions didn’t affect bear’s behavior in the future.
