2013 Chevy Malibu Review - Kelley Blue Book
Vložit
- čas přidán 10. 06. 2013
- For years the Chevrolet Malibu was plagued by quality issues, most notably in its interior. The latest Malibu has left all that behind but has it evolved enough to truly compete in the glutted mid-size sedan segment?

My dad loves his 2014 Chevy Malibu. I drove it many times and has lots of power for a 4 cylinder
By far the best Malibu ever! The 2014 was redesigned and the newer 2017/2018 models are based off of the impala. The 2013 is absolutely unique and the best! The older and newer models are just ugly tbh
THANK YOU. I have a 2013 and I love it!
@@reveal102 I love my 2LT with the 2.5L it's actually faster than I expected.
I have a 13' 2LZ on lease for 36 mo. and I must say, it really is an enjoyable car. (Unlike my previous Honda's and Toyota) On average I average 28 mpg! (Thumbs up if you see what I did there). When I go on trips I average 35 mpg. The car only has 17K miles on it (barely broken in) and it already exceeds the fuel economy ratings. I love the 2.0T engine, I love the Mylink for my iPhone, I love the brakes/steering, (one of the funnest sedans I've driven besides my Bonneville and Grand Prix's) !!!!
This may be the first review of the malibu that doesn't try to make it look like an awful car, I kind of like it... and maybe a little bit more now thanks to this review!
I like the chunky looms of the Malibu. The only thing I wish they had were LED running lights like you'd get in a Mazda or Honda
I’ve had my 2013 Malibu rs since new. Still love driving it. Moved from New York to Utah. Great road trip car
i read that the 2013 models have a more absorbent ride over the rough stuff, than later models which were tuned for racier handling at the expense of rough-road ride quality.
that car is badass looking looks like a mini camaro
Ryan's vlogging it mini ? It’s way bigger
4 door camaro
Of all the used cars I have ever bought, I have had the best experience with my 2013 Malibu. I've had it for 6 years and apart from tune-ups and annual inspection/registration costs, I have not spent a dime on it. Since we are leaving the country, I have to sell it, but I don't want to because I know I'll never find anything to replace it.
its a work of art..
Best reviews on CZcams hands down!
I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu LS & I have a weird question where it says Malibu on the truck why mines says Malibu on the driver side on the trunk but not the passenger side like the rest🤷🏽♂️
Man i wish i had an ltz with the turbo and led tail lights. But i love my 2015 lt! Powerful enough to get up to 130 mph with ease, and a great stereo.
I prefer this Malibu both inside & out over the current one, but was sad that it no longer offers a V6 like most other family sedans nowadays. Looks great in red BTW which is the color I want for my next car.
The 2011-2013 malibu is so underrated.
Yes it has downs, some are so stupid, but the ups are more than make up for it.
Very nice review. I look forward to your next one. Also when will there be a Buick Encore review?
I just bought a 2013 chevy Malibu LT and I was blown away from how the inside looks and feels. This video of the guy showing front row seat room is bad. I'm 5'11 and 340 pounds and I have enough leg room and I fit comfortable in this vehicle. Want to know if you like it take one for a spin and you will end up buying one.
Yeah I got a 2016 malibu limited ltz and I love mine the new malibu looks cheap and like shit I agree there like mini camaro s
Micah does it again! Can't wait for his take on the All NEW, NEW 2014 Malibu. ;)
Awesome car! Is it worth to buy it in 2022?
2014 Malibu is definatly going to be better, hope to see one at a showroom near me asap. This one isn't bad like they said, but lil behind. the update is much needed.
I still own a Y2K Grand Prix GT sedan with 53K miles, an 01' GTP Special Edition Coupe with 19K, an 05' Bonneville GXP with 66K, an 05' Grand Prix GTP Comp G with 28K and an 09.5 G6 GXP sedan with 12K. They are all the best cars I've ever owned and I plan on keeping them in my family for many years to come.
I'm sure they are still going today? Those 3800s never die.
Do you pay attention to what's coming out in the press about the car you review? The 2014 is a refresh that is being talked about that MotorTrend's website already has a piece on.
Who made this beat? Diplo?!
Are they all-wheel drive ?
I loved my malibu I got it with only 3 miles on it in 2/2016 BUT due to no fault of mine they had to redo all the pistons an then the engine for something idk what it was an guess what happen in 2020 ... The whole electric system went out meaning I can't use the ac/ heat, the lights & gages inside don't work an I don't know the speed I'm going, basically the touch screen an everything elctricle went out during covid an due to that I lost my 75.000 warranty because they said they couldn't verify it so it's been sitting in my garage for the past 2 yrs 😩😭.. I don't want to pay 1,500 to fix something I didn't break so I'm trying to fix it myself somehow 😢
So basically, it’s got a lot of power at stock and I can push with a little room in mods?
Loving my Malibu so far !
i like this car very much exterior design and interior .. and seems to have enough power to climb up steep highway hills .. but my problem with GM their cars and Trucks they rust so fast .. and in united states not a lot of bodyshops really want to work on them .. that's my only concern GM cars and Trucks rust very fast
all midsize sedans from any car company now cost from 20k-30k or higher. Thats just how much cars cost nowadays. and also the reason the chevy ss is 40k is because its got a 6.2L V8, if you compare it to the V8 charger the price is similar
My only problem with this car is that the mirrors are to damn small.
Meanwhile, here in Brazil midsize sedans are Civic, Corolla... Staring at US$ 30.000,00...
The parking/emergency brakes? Yes, the 2014 has a manual lever instead of the switch for the emergency brakes.
I hope the SS will eventually get the 2.0L Turbo with 259HP/295TQ, a new 3.9L Turbo V6 (SIDI, AFM and VVT) with around 455HP/425TQ and a 4.5L Twin Turbo V8 with around 600HP/575TQ.
Music is cool! Is it Micah's?
You've got a suspect grasp of what "every category" is then. It's pricey and I've sat in cold wet parkbenches that were more comfortable than its back seat, but those are its only real weaknesses.
I wouldn't consider any GM products until they made Onstar optional. Big brother is watching.
always watching..
The onstar doesn't work while you are wearing the tin foil hat.
Watching what lol
These comments got me laughing
Somebody needs a hug
sorry, my 97 grand prix gets that sort of mileage with a K&N and synthetic oil. supercharged 3.8 V6. plus it has more room and is just about the most comfortable car ive ever driven, even over almost any of the fords out there(the exception being the mustang gt500 i worked on last week). it also has most of those options. sorry, gotta do better to get me hooked. im not buying it. nice review though.
Music is very strange in this one
How is reliability with this car? I really want this...
Amazing! I have a 2011 and I love it very roomy great on gas and very stylish. And is very reliable
If you want reliability go for an Accord, it looks better drives better. In my opinion the Accord is a much more refined car with much more room. Plus the Honda is built better.
batchnerd As good as the accord is right now honda is having some recall issues with the air bag
Thats for Older Hondas and the company Takata supplies airbags to many different companies including, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, and General Motors. Which are all advised to issue a recall.
Eh i don't trust honda right now
Driven a honda accord and this, i like the accord more, it's cheaper and has more standard features...
I love the old chevrolet malibu ss colour: matllic blue off the youtube channel drive
Best Malibu period. The new one has more hard materials
the 13/14/15 look the same😂
Not the Fusion, Accord, or Camry
Camry se v6 all day baby
Hermoso
Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru and Hyundai all suck! The Camry, Altima, Sonata, Legacy and Fusion are super ugly. All the Honda's I've ever owned were super unreliable (a 98' Accord and an 07' Accord) Volvo is the only foreign brand that I would consider. I owned a 2008 S80 with only 42K miles on it, but it got totaled and I bought a brand new 2009.5 G6 GXP sedan when they came out. I also had an 03' Saab 9-3 Aero which was perfect, but I traded it in on an 05' Grand Prix GTP Comp G.
3:59 without a backup camera Micah would run over poorly placed girls.
er ist un bleibt ein Opel Insignia.
Love this car, much better looking than any slave labor car from the orient, light years ahead of any butt ugly Ford !
Point A-B Utensil. No passion, no heart, no guts. I am sure there are people for whom it works and I hope they enjoy it.
Eww, gross! The new 2.0L Turbo in the Malibu puts out 259HP (vs. 268HP) and 295FT-LBS. (vs. 248FT-LBS.) Plus, Chevrolet is an American brand (not one that scams their customers into believing that their products are American because they are built here) Just remember, if a foreign car is built in the U.S. it is not American and most of the profits go to the foreign car companies.
The camry is America made its not a gimmick its a fact
I would still choose the VW Passat over the Malibu.
See, I think the exact opposite. The Fusion, Camry, Legacy and Altima are all rental cars. The Fusion barely looks good with the titanium trim. the Camry will always be a car for people who are brain-dead (or it could be all Toyota's), the Legacy is super cheap and quite ugly, the Altima has a hideous cheap, monochrome plastic interior that ruins the whole car.
2013 Toyota camry
Omg
another rental car meh
First
Gm is the best ford n Toyota sucks
god this car is awful when compared to the others in every category.... Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Volkswagen Passat, Ford Fusion .... why in gods name would you buy this car at this price?
Junky cars. More GM crap to the graveyard. They don't build cars like they used to. Sorry this car lineup has left me stranded a few times.
And plz dont compare naturally aspirated v6 to a 2.0 turbo. Mainstream 2.0 turbos are gimmicks and That is A FACT
very mediocre car. Buy an Accord or Altima instead.
