- In this video, I review Brad's 2008 Vauxhall Astra Nurburgring Edition. It is quite a high mileage example and was neglected by the previous owner. This is also a start to a new series on the channel!

Can't beat an Astra VXR! Fantastic cars !!! Had one loved it. But the fuel was killing me! So decided to get a corsa vxr but I have kids so need space. So got a Meriva VXR same engine as the corsa but it's a small family bus. Call it the ANGRY TOASTER 🤣
Hahahah! Love a good VXR then? Lol. Meriva is a bit of an oddball. I'm interested in it not gunna lie
@@ZGVlogs the Meriva VXR was the test bed for the Corsa VXR . They are rare only 250 where made I think!! So one off tje rare VXR's . . Its like a corsa with space. They also have an overboost facility in 6th gear..So the turbo is spooling earlier on motorway. So pulls really good 👍 don't know if the corsa has this ? For an Angry toaster the top speed is high.
@@mikematthews2k181 oh nice man! If you're local drop me a message and I'll get it on the channel. Think it'll be interesting, especially being rare
Been told 25mpg average driving in the Astra VXRs, or they mikes worse than that?
@@ImThommoX I'm on 25.3mpg in mine. That's normal none busy town driving. I reset the trip switch about 2 years ago.
Before that i was doing a ton of motorway driving. Normal speeds with a heavy foot once in a while = 35.6mpg. Cruise control etc.
Drive like an idiot and redline it all over the place not giving a f about anything = 17mpg. < never driven like this and never will. These are the people who complain that they are "crap" and break all the time and that they are "never out of the garage".
Great video dude
Cheers bro
I have the same millage on mine that iv had for 5 years with only maintenance stuff needed, you can get good examples and you also get alot of dogs , just hope you haven't brought the later as it looks abit like its not been looked after by previous owner
What suspension set up does it have
Not too sure mate. He hasn't looked at it to be fair. It's just on coilovers of some sort
Where is the coolant? Looks likes it's filled up with water😂
Pass bud, was my mates car. Had a full engine rebuild since this vid lol. It's now forged
POV looks mega.. 😬😂😂Those bings and bongs sound like they come straight out of a Toyota....in particular my Avensis 🔊🤣..
It’s not really that high mileage for the age of the car.
I just bought a 06 VXR at 56k miles, hope its a good purchase. Arrives tomorrow.
@@teexcvhow was it mate ?
@@BR1T807 I'm never talking shit about Vauxhalls again. It's an absolute weapon. So fun to drive, trying to fight the steering wheel haha. Came with a stage 1 map, so I banged a steel induction kit on and the sound is phenomenal. the PSSSST and the TUTUTUTU of the turbo will never bore me - the missus hates it though. LMAO
@@teexcv Exactly mate. I can't stand it when people have no experience with them and talk crap about them. Enjoy your VXR.
