  • Two grainy photographs. That's all we have to go by when talking about this curiosity of the Model A's. What we do know is that in March of 1931 two St. Louis, MO newspapers published very short pieces on this supposed new offering in the Ford commercial line. Was it a prototype? Maybe a pre-cursor to the Deluxe Pickup? A custom one-off done by a Ford dealer trying to attract attention? We may never know.

FWIU the Deluxe Pickup mostly went to GE appliance dealers anyway even though it was listed as a standard model and offered to the general public.

Very interesting ; never seen photos of the proto Victoria & Deluxe Slant Delivery before. This channel is outstanding regarding Model A research on lesser known facts. The factory Deluxe pick up may have existed in much larger numbers in the USSR! There are photos/films of many examples in Moscow parades ,all display the Gaz AA truck type ;shell & less brightware indicating Gaz production rather than the US Deluxe models. Cheers

Looks like 'someone' took a '31 Slant windshield Fordor and custom built it as a pickup from the rear of the front doors. It appears to be about the same longer body length. I no longer have my Slant Ford car's body, but there were some kinda unique features though it did fit on a standard 'A' chassis as I now have a roadster body on the frame by only changing thewood body to frame mounts

That is a possibility; the slant windshield sedans had only been out a few weeks at the time the article was published so someone would have had to act quickly. Thanks for watching!

Slant windshield!?! That'll lead to marijuana cigarettes, and premarital sex!
