    It's so fast yet looks so slow.
    Its why people die trying to beat the Train. Can't tell how fast it's truly going. The size of the engine car makes it seem slow to onlookers. Until it passes them.

      There has been some experiments in India I understand with yellow line markers so people crossing the line can judge the speed.

      Even as slow as 100 km/hr, you cannot beat the train at the crossing. For freight trains, its snail pace still won't let you win.

    For the people saying the us is behind on rail development: the United States is EONS more vast and disconnected than Europe and Japan. Commerce routes between suitable cities are sometimes hundreds of miles apart with nothing in between. A high speed rail network in the United States is useless unless built only on the east and west coast, between cities like New York and Norfolk, and San Diego to Seattle.

      @Va Sr Maglev lines are designed and built for even more. A French TGV score 574 kph in a test, empty, though, but I think this does show us 400 kph on regular rails are not utopic. 330 are already practiced.

    • @ildiavolo1890
      @ildiavolo1890 Před 4 lety +1

      Problem is not how to reach 350 or 400kmh (all high speed trains already can reach these speed in commercial trainset composition, 11 or more car). Problem is the braking system and high costs of maintenance of train and railway at these speed. Thats the reason why a lot of engineers looking forward for magnetic levitation technology.

    • @ildiavolo1890
      @ildiavolo1890 Před 4 lety +4

      @Mysterium Vitae: the 2+1 prototype of 574,8kmh from TGV it had only the logo and the livery :)
      Where the 99.99% of the train it was modified (and it was an AGV, not a real TGV. An AGV prototype with TGV brand: logo and livery). And also the 99.99% of the route it was heavy modified. Result: The prototype has literally eat/burn/destroyed the railway = solution not accomplished.

(As I checked it with a GPS speed app)but it kills all sorts of animals. And guess what? The company has to pay for the loss. Millions of birr yearly. Now I wonder what will happen if a train with a speed such as this hits a camel. Will it be derailed? Not sure what will happen. But the train seems running without concerns.

    The only thing that scares me about trains on grade at this speed is the driver cannot see as far as the train would take to stop. What if a large animal such as a cow was on the tracks? I often thought they should have a small "drone" run the track about a mile in front of the train sending video and track condition back to the train to give the driver "eyes ahead"

      I`m sorry , this High Speed Lines are protected at both sides with 3 meter high metal transparant fences/schutters .No railroad crossings. The driver receives signals via screen inside the cabin .

      We have thought about that problem: Nothing can get around the tracks unauthorized. There are huge fences blocking the railways.

      rail line around the world is not like usa where fence is simply don't exist. that is why americans always become the victim of trains

      To be fair, at any decent speed, by the time a driver notices there's something obstructing the tracks it's too late to do anything other than to just emergency brake and hope for the best. Especially considering how much further trains take to stop and that most trains don't/can't usually operate by line of sight...

      Seek the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ before it's too late. John 3:16
      “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Hell is real and Heaven is also real. You don't want to spend an eternity in Hell torment without God. The only way to escape Hell is to follow Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. Study the KJV Bible to know more and pray and seek until you find Jesus...

      With no garantee. As I can see DB ICE train on that line, my guess would be TGV East line, i.e. from Paris to Strasbourg.

    ভেরি রিক্স যদি কোন কারনে বিদ্যুতের তার ছিরে ট্রেইনটির ছাদের সাথে লেগে যায় তাহলে ট্রেইনটিতে বিদ্যুত সংযোগ হয়ে যাবে এবং সবাই শর্ট খাবে।
    তাই ট্রেইনগুলোর ছাদ এবং দুই পাশ আলাদা প্লাস্টিক কভার দিয়ে তৈরি করা দরকার।

      Sedna063 it keeps constant speed of 160 to 180 meanwhile Acela can’t even keep it’s top speed for 30% of the route

    • @Sedna063
      @Sedna063 Před 4 lety

      @@Incidental104 True. But neither ountry could really claim to be better than the other.
      But I wish the US would just get their act together and start the funding. It would be a great project to link the Eastern corridor with high speed rail.
      Link some of the following cities:
      -Boston
      -Providence
      -New Haven / Hartford
      -New York
      -Philadelphia
      -Baltimore
      -DC
      -Richmond
      -Virginia Beach.
      Maybe connect cities like Albany, Pittsburgh and some other local centers in a next step after the proposed line is built.
