A Pharmacist that gets an A in school is the same as a Pharmacist that gets a C. They both graduate and become pharmacists.
Having worked in pharmacy its often the C grade pharmacists who are more well rounded as humans and make far better pharmacists in the real world. 🥰
Just have to say that women get assaulted or worse for saying "no" to giving men their numbers, so her reaction was completely understandable to me. I think it's something men need to keep in mind when they ask for a girl's number, there are legit reasons for saying yes and then giving a fake number or someone else's number. She could've been pretending to be her own boyfriend because sometimes men will respect "no" when it comes from a man, but not a woman.
Facts, ESPECIALLY when she is at work, essentially trapped AND required to stay nice if a guy takes rejection badly and decides to stick around and be persistent...
i think they were more calling the boyfriend (or potential boyfriend) weird rather than the girl
Just wanted to offer a different perspective with Trevor's asking out a barista story. It's clear Trevor had zero bad intentions, but the barista didn't know that. She's working and doesn't know if he'll react badly if she rejects him outright, so it's safer for her to do something like she did. She could've lost her job if he'd chosen to complain to the manager that she was rude. He could've become violent.
And the whole possesive boyfriend texting sounds suuuuuuper douchey and SDE but sadly there are also a lot of men out there who don't take a woman's "no" seriously, but will listen to the guy who she 'belongs' to🥲

To the first caller in college. College is not like high school and classes before. Studying is different and once you pick up on the tricks you'll do better. 1. Visit your professors during office hours. They LOVE it. They love what they learn and they want you to do well. 2. Try and set up study dates with the classmates getting high scores or ask to borrow their notes.
3. You are a badass who beat cancer! You can do this! College is hard, you not wrong, but you will graduate. 💙

Also to Natalia, pharmacy school is HARD. I coasted through school and then got to pharmacy school and ended up failing hard and dropping out. At the end of the day, pass your degree, and just go out there and be the best damn pharmacist you can be.
I used to be a good student with good grades, and when i got to uni and failed my first exam i broke down crying and started doubting myself. University is really hard and you shouldn't beat yourself up about it. As others mentioned, grades don't really matter. Try to pass your exams and give yourself some free time to rest, instead of trying to ace all the tests and work yourself to death. It always made me a bit insecure when other people in my class got higher grades than me, but at the end of the day we graduated with the same degree, and employers don't really care about what score you got on your tests.
Tbh if Brittany broski and/or Sarah schauer came on as guests the episode(s) would be unhinged and I'd live for it

there’s no “ego” in her giving you her number. she was probably just nervous b/c she was at her workplace and thought if she said no you might get mad and try to get revenge on her b/c you know where she works and that she’s stuck there for the next couple hours. it’s a scary fucking life being a woman so please keep that in mind
and the boyfriend replying was probably from her request so that if you had bad intentions you’d back off. i really don’t think it was anything about masculinity
Agreed. Have had many customer service positions, and it's so hard to turn down customers without feeling like you could be putting yourself and your job in danger 😢 If someone wants to shoot their shot with a customer service rep of any kind I think it's important to make it safe to say "no" and leave the ball in their court. Like, writing your number on a napkin so they can see it and choose whether to respond after you're already gone. And making it clear there are no repercussions for not following up, like never mentioning it if you don't hear from them. It's good to research what gentle rejection looks like and accept it with grace. It's not personal if someone is afraid to be upfront with a stranger, it's just society being a dangerous place with weird power dynamics. Being aware of how much power a customer holds over the service worker can help people avoid accidentally putting others in uncomfortable/unsafe positions.
NKC it won’t let me reply to you for some reason, but idk i personally would rather view something as a potential threat and be wrong than give them the benefit of the doubt and regret it after being harmed. i’m not saying the girl/boyfriend handled it 100% perfectly but we don’t know why they did it that way and i don’t think it was fair for them to be called psychos for it

Like, there's too many stories of people (esp men) getting violent when they are turned down, unfortunately. And too many times when they don't respect the "no" unless another man with "ownership" (enter boyfriend) is in the equation. Sucks!

With regards to the first caller, a part of me thinks that (and without knowing anything other than what was discussed during her call), it sounds like maybe she needs to explore and grow her more creative and artistic interests given her previous experiences and interests. As someone who went through something similar where you’re hyper focused on school (especially STEM) but didn’t get much time until the end of his college career to explore the more artistic/creative endeavors, I can definitely understand how it might feel like your time has passed you by. But… she still has plenty of time to explore those interests, as well as develop good time management and studying strategies
I had a similar experience in high school. I took advanced Physics even though I was depressed throughout all of high school and never turned in any work. I was in the lowest quartile of GPA by the end, but luckily my high school wanted to keep their 99% graduation rate so they passed most students.
I turned things around when I entered college and I’m doing well academically. It’s nice to hear about others having a similar experience to mine. Love the pod!

Unsolicited advice for the first caller: Literally college is so fucking hard even if you have nothing going on outside of it. I’m in college but I was in a car accident in the middle of the semester and it just absolutely wrecked me. I was incredibly depressed, experiencing chronic pain and fatigue for the first time, and no one around me could relate to what I was going through. To me it seemed like everyone was doing so much better than me, therefore I was failing. What I can see now (after taking a semester off and doing a lot of self-healing) is that they were not!! experiencing!! a huge!! trauma!! And let’s be real, straight up beating cancer is gonna leave a mark and cause your entire life to be different. And that’s okay!! You are not a failure, people are not lapping you. You are running your own race, and you might trip, you might fall, but eventually you are going to end up where you’re meant to be. Keep fucking rocking and be easy on yourself ❤

Many women are afraid to say "no" to men, especially if you know where they work/live/exercise because it can become dangerous. I doubt her boyfriend was in the shop, she probably texted you herself pretending to be the boyfriend because many men don't respect "no" from a woman but will respect "no" from another man.
Natalia should look up ADHD symptoms in adult women and see if they match her situation. I had a very similar experience and WISH someone had told me to look into ADHD

the pharmacy girls story was so relatable. when i started university, i wanted to be a doctor. i was one of the smartest in my class, involved in so many different social circles and when i got to college it was so much different than what i had expected. i was failing at everything, had very little friends, and felt like a failure. it started to affect my mental and PHYSICAL health to the point where my doctors thought that i was being held hostage by my parents. i had to step away and was eventually diagnosed with adhd, depression, anxiety, ptsd, bipolar and ocd. once i was able to get control over myself, and start therapy. i felt like i had just began to get to know myself, and then started to learn that i didn’t want to be in such a competitive environment. i feel so much happier and better about myself now than when i tried to hang with the other people in that major. good luck to this girl! i hope you can find some comfort and happiness knowing that you have already achieved so much and that you haven’t peaked in middle school. ❤

For real though as someone in masters now, I'm doing better in my master's program than I ever did in high school or undergrad. There is still much hope!

To double down on the first callers advice, charisma is actually really important for ALL jobs. And connections are the easiest way to get in with a job. Like from my experience as a 30 year old who's several years into my field, nobody gives a fuck with your gpa was tbh. It's about who you know, that can vouch for you, that makes all the difference in job applications.

I did the trevor thing my freshman year of high-school but successfully lol. I had gotten drafted into the engineering elective program. And I was one of 3 girls but the only one with the nerd/teacher’s pet rizz lol (I'm too old to say that without the millennial lol). And I failed every major project but left the class with a 100. Blamed the assignment parameters or my apathetic partners.

Business' in my country cannot get random CV's sent to them, if they are not equipped to store them responsibly online. And most business' do not have that. So if you send them an e-mail in 9 out of 10 cases they will write back, that they sadly do not do unsolicited applications, as they cannot have CV's on their e-mail. ect 🤣🤣
