The guy who run the first Marathon and died after saying "we won" was not Feidipides but Thersippos. Feidipides did something even more difficult. He run to Sparta to ask for help from Spartans and returned in two days (500 km). In order to honour this Hoplite, Spartathlon is organised the last 35 years (Athens - Sparta 246 km)
I loved this video. I was digging it and then here comes a 65 yr old bare ft dude with armor and f bombs. That dude is my hero
Participated in Athens Classic Marathon, the Authentic Marathon on 13 Nov 2016 - it was indeed " I can't believe I'm here" -experience Highly recommend this event for all runners, if you plan to run one full marathon (or more) in your life THIS IS THE ONE! to run

Congratulations did a very good description of the sruggle as true reporter. real the sports unite the world. The sport is civilization. I hope we meet again somewher, sometime. Haha. Love it! - love the video and your enthusiasm. I’m doing the same thing where I’m discovering the world through it’s marathons this year. Paris, Stockholm, Helsinki, Jungfrau, Venice and Athens next week :)

Btw at the expo we saw you on video at the Brasov marathon stand! My friend running it with me (from brasov) also recognised you saying you were a national celebrity!
Nice video my friend.u seem u enjoyed it a lot....i just wanted to point out you that Pheidippides didn't died because he run from Marathon to Athens..Few days earlier he run to Sparta and return back to Athens..He covered more than 400 km in 4 days and also participate to the battle,carried 30 kg of equipment....Take care :)

+321 sport hi!i live in Berlin. At September 16 it will my first Marathon . Hope to See you on the Track
+Gunnar Wittmann I don't know if I'll be back in Berlin this year... I'm trying to do some different cities & bring new information in the show. Could you recommend any other marathon in Germany? Frankfurt, Koln... I've heard they are good.

As a Greek i must tell you that "Ευκλης" (Eyklhs) died after the announcement of the win "ΝΕΝΙΚΗΚΑΜΕΝ" not Φειδιππιδης (feidippidis).By the way nice footage.Cheers
