I just want to say this quote from my country since we also suffered 3 decades of military dictatorship and has already reached decades of reform (politically, militarily, etc).
The quote sounds something like this:
"To bring professionalism back in the body of the armed forces and also to bring peace and stability to the nation, the soldiers/troops have to go back to their barracks"

@@HelloBuddies-rx1xx Who to punish and face justice would be the heads that leads this fiasco, i mean the instigators that started this coup of course and the ones that committed those crimes of course, it will be a long confusing and difficult process but for a simpler explanation i recommend you read the history of Indonesia both historically and politically during the New Order era (where the armed forces plays a role in the nations politics) and its Downfall (this is where the quote "Soldiers must return to their barracks" comes from) into the eventual Reformation era, there are a lot of factors and parallels to the current situation in myanmar although maybe without the civil war situation happening since the rise of the new order was somewhat "welcomed" at the earlier/est period of the New Order regime after an attempted communist coup that somewhat also a coup(New Order) that forced the Old Order regime to resign and some of the factors that allowed the President of the New Order at the time to accept his resignation after many pressures that somehow he didn't choose the forceful aproach to maintain his hold to this 30 years long presidency, well again, long story short it will be a very very long, confusing, and difficult process to punish any of the instigators of the coup and the current junta leadership for their crimes (since i also can't deny that some if not many of the members and cronies of my country's New Order Regime also somehow manages to escape justice or got their sentences reduced like from what i know my former 2nd President the one who ruled for 30 years after his coup who got basically a "Sick Leave" from being persecuted for his crimes) , and any form of attempt to stabilize, etc the country have to come from within the nation and pressures both economically and politically from another nations (actions wise like demonstration from the citizens and maybe also taking up arms since as we all know the situation is already somewhat FUBAR due to how the military and police (armed forces) cracks down the demonstrations), and it also depends on how the new regime after this Junta will work to punish or bring the instigators of those crimes to justice, we can only wait and watch as to how it will go for them, etc......
@@HelloBuddies-rx1xxAlso i'd like to add that the Quote "Soldiers must return to their barracks" basically means that a soldier must be a proffessional at doing and upholding their duty as a soldier which is defending the nation from outside threats, not getting involved in national affairs that is not their own expertise or task as a soldier.
Also the workplace of a soldier is their "home" and workplace is in their military base and their barracks, not a million dollar mansion or houses with their expensive assets that they have (this is based on the situation in Indonesia back then during the New Order era where both armed forces officials and by extension their cronies have a bassically million dollars asset that didn't match their sallary and they (Also the President and his cronies) also have the power to basically make someone goes "missing" if somebody questions and challenges where they got it from)
You guys need to learn how to coexist peacefully. If Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia can do it you guys can also and those 3 countries I mentioned had a way bigger war than Myanmar. Stop finding excuses take accountability and fix your country you guys are the last country in Southeast Asia to still be at war. While the rest of Southeast Asia is advancing and moving forward Myanmar is stuck at the same place and even moving backwards sometimes. Stop killing one another because you think your ethnic group is better than the other thats the real problem in Myanmar.

Guaranteed food rations, as well as a steady paying job, if but minuscule.
Honestly, it is physically impossible for the military to win this fight for the long run.
Its lower rank soldiers are simply not allowed to quit so their only choice to leave is to run away.
But most of the higher rank officers don't want to quit, because of illegal incomes they receive from drug trafficking and bribery.
It is not loyalty but loss of reasoning. They are trained to have the mindset, Do as ordered by superiors, no questions asked.
